This is a Rare Mob flying around in Mount Hyjal with 2.7 million HP.
It might drop Crimson Firehawk mount
Killed him on 5/8/2011 on the ptr
He has three abilities,
a quick casting fireball that hit me for ~12k,
a flame gout that knocks you back (can be bad because hes positioned on a cliff) and hits for about 9k, don't stand in the swirly red spot
a breath where it tracks one player leaving fire where they were standing, i didn't get hit so i didn't see the damage
I was able to solo him from ~40% to dead as a rogue, so he shouldn't need a group to kill for most people, he was able to be stunned, blinded and gouged.
New elite found in Hyjal with 2,700,000 health points.
Flies over Sethria's Roost.
Is part of the achievement
Has similar model to
. Except without the armor.
Image of Andrazor
And, sirrah, what did it drop?
drops nothing on ptr
best way to kill him, is by having the quest
The protectors of hyjal
location : flies over Sethria's Roost
I managed to kill him as resto druid by healing the npcs with me. u need to be on a high ground to pull him
he had couple of major abilities:
Shower of Flame
which causes -->
Gout of Flame
: u just move out of it
Fireball : 1 sec cast time use it on his main target deals around 13-14k, interuptable , also he's stunnable .
I tried it as dps but the tank npc dies at around 600k left, and his fireballs really hurt and died at around 300k , so decided to go resto and heal the npcs.
edit : killed him on latest ptr build, only dropped 2 junk items,
Killed him with 3 people in total; a warrior tank, a druid healer (myself), and a BM hunter as dps. Could have easily done it with just a tank and healer, as the damage each elemental lord did was negligible on a ZA/ZG geared tank, but it would have taken much longer to get them down as they had a fairly substantial health pool.
Once we killed this guy,
Fah Jarakk, Lord of Smoke
spawned on the next ledge into the roost, so it looks like only one elemental lord can be up at a time.
Searris, Lord of Embers
spawned right after him at the place where you fight Sethria for her questline, and
Andrazor, Lord of Cinders
spawned right above us the second Searris went down.
Kelbnar did not respawn after we'd killed all the elemental lords, so they are definitely rare spawns even though it doesn't say so on the mob itself. They most likely have a "common" rare spawn timer of 6-24 hours, but I can't confirm this. Despite the fact that they are rare, all every one of them dropped was 2 gray items; one
and a mob-specific gray such as
. Fah Jarakk can be mined, but I didn't notice any of the others having that option. So it looks like these mobs are just for the achievement (
The Fiery Lords of Sethria's Roost
), for now.
Happy hunting :)
Was just able to solo this guy....through gritted teeth and a few near deaths.
Alas, he didn't drop anything but vendor trash.
For anyone wishing to solo him....for whatever reason
Move out of gout of flame and just make sure to interrupt his fireball....he'll sit idle for 4-5 seconds after each interrupt, I was able to cycle Grand crusader procs and rebuke most of the time...few shakey places where I started to dip low on health.
Soloable as a hunter. You'll have to pull with MD. I recommend doing so on one of the ledges without mobs so you don't run into the risk of aggroing anything else. Pet damage will be very high, and consistent. However, Andrazor always casts
Gout of Flame
Shower of Flame
at the player, and this will give your pet a chance to heal up. I recommend using a turtle and rotating Shell Shield and Cower during the periods between Shower of flame to keep your pet up.
Don't stand in the fire and good luck!
Unfortunately if you're going for the achievement, you need to be the first to tag each of the named mobs, or be in a group that tags it first.
You will NOT get credit for joining a fight in progress!
If anyone's having trouble farming these, I would suggest doing it right after the server reset. I ran into all four in less than 10 minutes time and I got the achievement without spending hours upon hours to farm. In case you're after him with more people, group up and tag along; it makes killing things easier, faster, and leaves more time to kill the others, too, before someone gets him before you do.
Best of luck!
This elite is silence-able , fear-able..
perhaps more !
Spawned down near where Searris spawned earlier. Doesn't seem to have any attacks other than spellcasts, so keep it stunned/cs'd, etc.
I arrived at his spawn location and found his corpse. He respawned roughly 2h10m later.
as a warlock i banished him whenever i wanted to reduce damage or cooldown on spell lock from felhunter took time but was easy walked out with full health:)
Important note: Priests, Mages, and Engineers, don't assume that if you get knocked off the cliff you can safely fall and come back to finish him off. Falling off the cliff creates so much range that - even if you get back in time - your tap is corrupted and you won't get credit.
Keep him between you and the cliff. :)
Make sure you get this one down to an open area. Those Gouts of Flame hurt, and if you're dumb like me you'll end up running straight off a cliff trying to get away from it.
It seems for Darkspear EU, Andrazor is followed by Kelbnar, I'm not sure of the rest of the mobs...
I just managed to solo Andrazor somehow ( :P ) As a Frost DK, it's hard to get a good point to fight him without getting knocked off the cliff but I managed to get lodged in a little dip in the cliffs which worked a treat. :P
I agree with what people are saying just use all your cooldowns, if you have interrupts too use them as much as possible because I found that worked great too!
Soloed all 4 bosses as a Paladin Tank. Used WoG with 3 HP whenever possible, always stood with my back to a wall on Jah Farrak (sp?). Stood on flat ground with Kelbnar, and muted Andrarazor with interrupts and AS. With Searris I killed the adds with HotR, and used holy light afterwords because of
Just remember to use HoJ whenever its up, and it should be easy.
Edit1: Andrazor is killable on a mountain because I used Avengers Shield and rebuke whenever it was about to be cast.
Anybody know respawn time?
If you're not a paladin (which seem to be able to faceroll them all), make sure you clear out a wide area for Andrarazor. His lava gout (and the spell that chains them) are avoidable as long as you have enough room to move, which means you can save your interrupts for the fireballs.
Andrazor is basically a more powerful version of Millagazor: he spams fireballs and occasionally throws a gout of flame underneath you, or a whole bunch of 'em in a short time. As such, he almost exclusively deals fire damage, which you can plan for accordingly with some fire resistance.
He shouldn't be too hard to deal with as long as you have enough space to fight him in. Andrazor flies around Sethria's Roost, so you may have to wait for him to come to the spot you want to fight him in.
His damage output might be a little bit on the high side, but a lot of it is easily avoidable. Good hunting!
This phoenix is part of the requirements for the achievement The Fiery Lords of Sethria's Roost. He is one of 4 that spawn periodically in the Sethria's Roost zone.
The other three are
-Searris, a fire elemental
-Fah Jarrak, a molten golem
-Kelbnar, a fiery dog
Andrazor will fly around Sethria's Roost, including flying down around the lower sections. It is easiest to tag him as he comes up to the upper level, and for the tagger to stand on one of the higher rocky ledges.
Andrazor is only a threat to you if he is able to cast. He casts Fireballs and Gouts of Flame. Interupting his abilities will ensure a win over this mob, but if you can't, the important ones to interupt are the Gout of Flame, and Shower of Flame, which is basically several Gouts of Flame.
Andrazor and the others in the chain spawn roughly 10-30 minutes from the last kill. If you kill Andrazor, the next mob will spawn in 10-30 minutes. The mob that actually spawns is random, sometimes it can be Andrazor again, but usually it is not.
Solo-able as a DEMO warlock, no banishes or CC.
stand at 31.84 on his southern pass, pop all your cooldowns (myself, i use metamorph, demon soul, soul casket, immoation aura) and dot (corruption curse of the elements, bane of doom) as soon as he comes close, sic your felguard on him with felstorm and back up behind the hill to about 31.85 and summon your doomguard.
he will go "into" the hill, unable to use his major attacks, and you can self heal and DPS him down
I have done this twice so far.
Soloed him as a 85 BM hunter. No harder then the fire bird from the daily quests. I used a corehound for my pet and it was tank and spank and don't stand in the fire. Keep your pet mended.
Soloable as an enhancement shaman, though I had the druids from the quest helping.
Interupting on every CD(preferably fireballs, the other stuff I just ran away from) with elemental protection totem up and using feral spirit and bloodlust to start it off worked on the second attempt.
Failed once while figuring out what hurt the most and what to do about it.
Soloed as ilvl 355 arcane mage with the quest druids helping.
Simply avoid Shower of Flame and nuke it.
Don't OOM too fast though, as you'll want your evocation to coincide with the point where your health is low, as the druids' heals alone are very likely not enough to keep you alive.
If you need to evocate, do it immediately after a shower of flame and pop your mirrors so you don't get interrupted by any other attacks.
i kill it by my self lol no need for raid but and yet i dint get credit wtf? lol
Soloed as frost dk, i362 while doing dailies
let bear hyjal protector tank, just avoided bad stuff and let the npc's do their stuff
did not get any green drops but did get credit for the kill
I solo'd him as a fury warrior. Ilvl 371 average gear. I actually solo'd the entire achievement. The hardest one by far for me was Andrazor though. I had to use all my cooldowns and I even popped a flask to be safe. I wiped about 4 times before I finally got it down pat. My advice is just pop everything right off the bat apart from Rallying/Enraged Regen and go nuts. Pummel everything he throws at ya.
made the mistake of pulling him onto a mountain peak as a rogue. he knocked me off and, since I had no way of getting back up to him (vanish didn't drop combat, so I couldn't mount up and fly back), he just chain-fireball'd me until I died.
I found Blind very helpful in this fight. When I was down at about 20% I Blinded and the healer NPC from quest group fully healed me :)
: soloed after many attempts (moderately geared) and my daily
protectors of course.
Kept him stunned as much as possible with a
rotation mixing in
your best friend
. I used the
to keep her in place.
While Andrazor is feared your druid protector
will heal you
sometimes almost full or it will give you a chance to bandage.
Let your protectors do most of the dps. This is a war of attrition where you need to stay alive.
Keep him feared, stunned, silenced, stay out of
, and keep your back away from the edge of the cliff to avoid getting punted.

Soloable as a Shadow Priest, albeit difficult (I had Confessor).
Took me 3 tries (1 as Holy, other two as Shadow. Holy is a waste, your druid buddies do horribad DPS...at least when you have Confessor), as you pull aggro easily and you can't spam Fade enough.
Confessor will heal you a little, but in his chain of Fireballs, you will die in seconds. Run up toward him and fear when he starts using Fireballs (He is vulnerable to it). It will interrupt his powerful chain of fireballs and give you a chance. Watch his cast bar carefully, as sometimes he will not cast Gout of Flame/Shower on you, but on an ally. This is your lucky break if you already have aggro, as it will stop his chain of fireballs. In between these and your fears, use Fade. You
be able to stop all his fireball chains from hurting you. Use PW:S if necessary while running into fear range. If, for whatever reason, fear and fade aren't enough, Dispersion should keep you alive long enough to get up close to fear, or to wait for Fade to CD.
The confessor is good at keeping herself alive, as bad as she is at keeping anyone else alive, so your Fades should make Andrazor target her every time. In the event that she actually does die, use Dispersion to give a little time for your fear/shadowfiend to CD. Pop your shadowfiend and fade. I wouldn't recommend using shadowfiend at the beginning of the battle, even if it optimizes your DPS. He's a life saver.
Other than that, keep your DoTs up as much as possible, and stay away from his fairly easy-to-avoid special attacks. Good luck!
I finally managed to solo this guy with my ilvl 390 Feral Tank Druid today.
Solo isn't actually quite true as I did this while on
I did have the usual band of semi-useful druids and C-List celebrity to help.
I positioned myself on top of the small hill at the south end of the northern part of Sethria's Roost and opened with
to taunt him.
The key is to move out of the gouts he spawns under you, and to interrupt his fireballs as soon as
is off CD.
Be careful if you get pushed back as the fall causes significant damage, even down that small hill.
when it's available,
when taking heavy damage and
if you are really low on health. Since that will happen after your comrades have fallen, it is better to have it unglyphed to convert rage into health (don't count on getting healed).
Obviously do not forget your normal rotation,
must be up as well as a
with 3 stacks of
at all times.
I was at 10% health when I finished.
I was able to easily solo this mob as an 85 Balance druid while doing the daily quest, and it took me about 20-30 minutes to down him, but I did not take heavy damage, and when he cast Shower of Flame, I just ran around casting Sunfire and Moonfire until it was over. Again, a very easy fight for a Balance Druid.
One of the changes in MoP that makes him so difficult for melee classes is the lack of ranged attacks which means it's tough to get him to engage.
As an Arms Warrior I found myself climbing/flying up to peaks that just barely put me in range of hitting him with a thrown weapon. Once I hit him I had to back up to a point where I couldn't get knocked off and down from where I was standing -- I took several falls that made it impossible for me to get back into combat with him (if the fall didn't kill me outright).
Eventually I was able to hit him from a point on the ledge just south of the northernmost section of the roost and I could fight him with my back to the mountain. Once I did that it was over with quickly, but it took a while to figure this out.
Wish it was tamable.
Just downed Andrazor for the achievement. Here's an observation: Downing the series of rares usually results in the immediate spawning of the next in the list (which ends with Andrazor); however, Andrazor spawns much later (10-20 minutes), so you have to hang around and watch. This was my experience, anyway.
Also, as a 526 Unholy DK, I waited until he (she?) flew past an area that was level with me (approximately 32.1 x 91.3). I used Death Grip to get his attention and then took about 40 seconds to get him down. I did move away from the Flame Gouts, but still took some damage. At this level of gear, though, it was pretty much inconsequential.
All fiery lords
This is an old achievement but its now really easy to do and only takes about 10 to 15 minutes to do. Mainly is waiting for them to spawn. I first killed Kelbanr, then Searris Spawned next, then Fah Jarakk and Finally Andrazor spawned for me to finish it off. When Andrazor spawned for me I was on the spot near where Kelbanr spawns.
