Just killed him and he dropped
It seems the rares share a loot table (or some do anyway) of certain items they can drop.
The nasty debuff he has stacks, so if you have a pet or any way to kite him around in order to drop it, that will help you immensely. I made sure to clear the area and dropped both my earth and fire eles (by the time it was up fire ele didn't do a whole lot) in order to drop him at 88 as elemental.
At certain points in the battle he will vanish then hit you with a Smoked Blade ability about 3 seconds later. As his health gets low this seems to hit harder and he hits with it twice.
I was being hit for 193k physical over the 2 hits on a Paladin tank.
EDIT: He hits for 55% of maximum health apparently. I had dmg mitigation so that kept me going. Try to keep your health at max.
All the rares hit hard though, it's not really a surprise. Just save your cooldowns till he vanishes.
I just got done downing him... took my 4 tried on my 88 mage....
i got the Razor-sharp chitin choker and a big bag of skins which yielded 43 exotic leather and magnificent hide time to sell and check my repairs lol

This was a very easy kill for me as a hunter, even with a ferocity pet. My pet healing proved insufficient with the debuff stacked to 5. The pet died, and I revived him. Only lost 20% hp (and didn't use deterrance), and finished him off.
I was able to solo on the first try as an 89 mage, one thing that saved my bacon once though was that when he vanishes and re-appears, you can dodge the attack that comes right after. As a mage, I ran and used Frost Nova as he was appearing which cause him to not swing. I think the name of the game for this guy is avoiding that attack, but your timing will need t be fairly precise.
When he vanishes use some AoE in the vacinity to bring him out. A Very hard fight if you let him use his stealth ability.
pretty easy to solo by a lvl 90 arcane mage, just clear out all the trash (including the neutral turtoise, because you might pull them when you aoe the rare out of his stealth.)
dropped Small bag of goods and "Razor-sharp chitin choker" (dont know how to link items )
Downed him on my second try as a lvl 88 Surv Hunter at 1:38p.m. server time US- Exodar , he's fairly esy just gotta keep aggro on your pet at all times.
i don't recommend trying to come down the cliff behind him to fight him on a ledge. it's possible, but makes for a very annoying fight.
All Saurok rares use the same set of abilities.
Vicious Rend is a stacking bleed effect. It can be avoided by kiting the Saurok until the debuff falls off, or simply healed through.
Grappling Hook is basically just Death Grip. Saurok will use this when you get more than 20 yards away.
Vanish and Smoked Blade are the things to watch out for. Upon Vanishing the Saurok will clear all debuffs and DoTs currently affecting him. You have a moment to retarget and hit the Saurok again before he disappears, but if you don't manage it, AoE spells can knock him out of stealth before he gets the drop on you. Otherwise, be ready with a defensive CD.
Time consuming, but easily solo'd with liberal use of slows, stuns and freezes. Just stay within 20 yards of him, because his 'come out of stealth and give you a broadsword enema' attack will make you wonder just what that green resource bar WAS to vanish so quickly.
The respawns around him seem fairly slow, I engaged him for about 7 minutes without a respawn, so once you pick them off you should have plenty of time with him to yourself. Also, pulling the normal spawns didn't aggro him, so this might be a current bug or intended rarespawn design.
Dropped str necklace for me(Resto/Ele shaman) and no skins bag :( Ah well, got my "Can we find more like that?" achievement, so it all works out!
Just downed him on my paladin. I got nervous when I saw his health pool compared to mine as ret, so I swapped to prot. It seems his strikes once he reappears strike for a little bit more than his others. He seems to like to aggro the mobs around him as well. Those are easy to take down. I kept Sacred Shield up at all times, or at least when I could. The fight was long, but I never took more than 75% damage.
Just destroyed this guy on my 89 druid. All quest blues in bear form. I did pop most of my CDs and never went below fifty percent health. I simply tried to stay on top of him the whole time. He disappeared on me twice and took a bit of health out. Nothing a few healing CDs didn't fix. Easily soloable IMO.
I just fought this guy and as stated, his smoked blade just owned me. I want to think one time it hit me twice, because i died after just one vanish. i didn't think the bleed did that much damage to me but maybe it did.
anyway, when i killed him, i noticed when he vanishes that i had about a 1/2 second to hit him with an aoe before he fully disappeared and he would reappear almost immediately. I don't know if that's a bug, but that's how I killed him and he vanished on me 2x.
His attack after he vanishes will hit you for 55% of your max health. It is currently bugged and will hit you
. It is not survivable. However, just before he disappears he runs away from you. He continues to run that direction for
half the duration of his vanish
then returns to stab you. If you run in the opposite direction when he disappears, he will reappear before he can reach you and will be unable to use his special attack.
Run away when he vanishes and it's a tank and spank.
Just a quick note. You can pull the 2 mobs that are standing along side him without pulling him. he isn´t ´connected´ to them at all even though he is standing very close to them.. There are 3 mobs that you really should clear before engaging him. As long as you don´t get too close to him, you are fine using a ranged attack to pull the adds and giving yourself some room.
As will all his race, he vanishes and then does a sneak attack. Two ways to deal with it. First, you can attempt to ´retarget´ him as soon as he starts to vanish. If you are melee, this is not very difficult, you just have to retarget him and get an attack off within a second or two. If that fails, and he does vanish, now is a good time to put up defenses like barkskin, powerword shield, or whatever ´reduces 20% of damage´ type abilities you have with your particular class.
As a mage I used arcane explosion to get him out of stealth, then he didn't use his hard hitting ability.
Anyone know what the weapon he has is, or whether or not it's obtainable in game?
Looks pretty cool imo.
Thanks to NerArth's info, I was able to track down what the item is.
Malevolent Gladiator's Greatsword
is the two handed sword Siltriss has equipped.
As a druid I came up with a very easy and efficient strategy. As long a syou have typhoon (talent), you can pop him out of stealth if you give a few steps back and typhoon out to whichever direction he vanished to. He killed me the first time til I tried this, then it was suuuuper easy. I'm guessing similar spells that have a knock back effect will do too (for other classes).
Just a note for Assassination rogues: Vendetta allows you to see him after he vanishes, and allows you to continue attacking him. If you do this, he won't be able to use his Smoked Blade, and the fight becomes MUCH easier.
Siltriss the Sharpener says: I will wear your skin as a hat!
So apparently, he's a hunter.
As a mostly blue geared mage i killed all the adds first. Then i pulled siltriss into the water and while i was kiring him around with ice lance, the waterelemental had no trouble dps'ing him. When he stealthed i used cone of ice and or blizzard, retargeted him and continue the fight. Whenever blink was of cd i used to get away further. Health never dropped below 80 percent. Of course i used Ice Barrier, but didn't need any other abilities. Never had an add coming up into the water.
Killed it just now and looted
by my horde level 90 toon.
Siltriss the Sharpener
I just killed Siltriss right as he was vanishing (50% transparency). I couldn't loot the body so I sent a bug report.
Might just be a one off, but I couldn't see anyone else mention it, so I thought I'd put it in.
Confirming that this creature does spawn at regular intervals (usually up once an hour or so) as of the date of this posting.
