Mogu warrior rare spawn with just under 4 Million HP. Found in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. His abilities are:
Devastating Arc: Does ~250,000 damage in a 180 degree cone in front of him. Don't get hit by this.
Summon Quilen: Summons a fairly weak quilen to attack you.
He also has a 5% damage enrage he occasionally casts on himself, it does not stack.
As a 90 arms warrior in s12 pvp gear he was pretty tough to bring down, even without getting hit by the arcs he hits pretty hard. I had to rely on Victory Rush heals triggered by killing the Quilen adds in order to survive and even then he came close to killing me.
Dropped a level 85 BoP blue STR cloak. Totally not worth it.
Edit: note that this info was gathered during MoP beta. Stats and abilities on live may differ.
The quilen he spawns are
Urgolax seems to be bugged as of right now. He constantly hits you with his Devastating Arc ability even if you are no where near the ground animation that shows where it will hit. The first time I pulled him I was hit by the arc when I was standing behind him (The ground animation was 180 degrees in front of him. The second time I had just pet nova him and was out in the boon docks when it stuck me. I have attempted to kill him 3 times now, while being hit a total of 7 times by his arc, when in fact I am no where near him or his animation..
EDIT: After multiple tests It seems as though the Devastating Arc ability is actually a 360 degree circle, even though it only visually shows 180degree
Just killed today 9/27 on Live....Dropped the same cloak as said above.
He can be CC'd which makes the fight a simple win (used stun, knockback, root, slow, silenced).
As a new 90 Balance druid I just kept dot's on the whole time while spam Rooting....Add is pointless , does little damage and despawns after awhile (can also be CC'd and ignored completely). Either stand on top of him if u need to and step through on cast or just out range the Devastating Arc (like i said i kept rooted 40yds away). You are able to time a stun on him to remove his Enrage stack and make it start back over.
I just pulled him off the wall/cliff behind where his tent is into the large open land with no enemies to kite and kill =)
Took 6 minutes to kill this way, only took 500k dmg from him and 150k from all the adds.
Part of the Achievement

As a 90 Blood DK, I popped Army and initiated.
-When I could, I Asphyxiated.
-When his Devastating Arc was being warmed up, I got behind him.
2 Mote of Harmony
1 Chalice of Secrets
1 Softfoot's Drape
Not exactly a hard fight as long as you pay attention.
All Mogu Warriors use the same set of mechanics.
Devastating Arc is the only ability of a Mogu Warrior to be really concerned about. This attack causes heavy AoE damage in a large area in front of the caster. Simply step through him to avoid it.
Titanic Strength is a stacking damage buff. It can be dispelled as an enrage effect, otherwise just be ready with a self-heal.
Summon Quilen summons a weak add that can be totally ignored. Kill it with AoE, cleaves, or DoTs, but don't worry about focusing it down. Its attacks are totally negligible.
this area is really populated because of the dailys, would have to be lucky to get this guy.
No need to kite or worry - use THIS strategy and he's cake. Just be patient, have some popcorn ready, and spam the heal for your pet and you'll get through it just fne...
I just downed this guy - took me about 5 tries to actually learn the best technique - so here's what I am and what I did:
90 BM Hunter - kitty pet.
I pulled him over the ledge and down the hill keeping my pet on follow UNTIL he was at the bottom of the hill and then I hit pet attack. Then I placed myself at the maximum allowable distance - while spamming pet heal and cracking every buff I could find plus the additional pets (both Stampede and Dire Beast).
When he sent the doggy - I just ignored it - placed the fire and snake trap and kept attacking - always healing the pet. The doggy died during the duration of the traps - and the traps reset right about the time he sent another doggy - so just repeat that pattern.
Powershot is good for this fight because it knocks him into the rocks - and that hides his huge 180 damage attack. I took no damage - and my pet never fell below 40K (Using pet heals I was able to get him back up fast everytime).
He dropped the "Cloak of the Forgotten Emperor"
This mob goes towards the GLORIOUS! achievement.
Good luck peeps!
This guy is TOUGH, but I got him at 6:05 PM. Soloed to about 60%, then teamed up with a warrior to bring him down. I'm a shaman in resto gear, 440.
I post the time I brought him down in an effort to help you figure out when it spawns.
I happened upon his corpse at around 4:16 PM server time. At 8:30 PM server time that same evening, I saw him respawn. I hope this helps.
If you happen to find him on a day where the subjugated serpents are about it makes this fight considerably trickier since you frequently end up having to make the choice to move through a lightning pool to dodge the arc. I pulled him down to ground level to avoid mogu issues but even after pulling him as far as I dared (without him leashing) the serpents were still determined to bomb me.
Having trouble? Simply kite him to some Golden Lotus guards for a hand. They have a stun attack which will assist in keeping him occupied and the closest guards aren't that far away.
Solo'd him as Prot Warrior.
He wasn't a problem. Kept getting the little ghost pack pats adding till i realized the mogu around him arnt linked to him.
pull them seperately and kill them then kill him in the spot he spawns to avoid add packs completely.
Ugh, found this guy -- FINALLY -- and got him down to 20% health. Server's Dailies happened to reset exactly then and I got immediately ported back to the Golden Temple. To rub salt in the wound, there were about six Horde waiting for the fresh Dailies and I got massacred immediately at the quest hub.
Probably a one in a million chance of it happening to anyone else, but yeah, just so you know, stay away from the Daily reset time.
I had a subjugated serpent when I tried to solo this NPC.
I died twice when just going for Urgolax
I had to kill the serpent before I could after the NPC.
Just killed him on Ravencrest-EU 18:40 server time.
Pretty easy and definately soloable, killed him as an arms warrior with 465 ilvl. I popped all my coolies whenever I could and pulled 2 extra mobs to cleave and get health back with Victory Rush.
Remember to dodge the AoE skill he uses. The quillens he spawns have around 200k health and do very little damage. Hope this helps in some way :)
Loot that dropped:
19 silvers and 88 copper
After dying a few times to this guy as a melee, i learned the best strategy is to stand inside of him and attack so that you have plenty of time to avoid devastating arc.
If I'm correct, you can actually avoid the edges of Devastating Arc by jumping. Multiple times, I thought I was gonna die in the Arc, so I just jumped right at the end of his cast, and multiple times took no damage. Coincidence? Possibly. Just wanted to let you guys know.
Just solod him, took 1 attempt, demonology warlock, ilvl 485, using voidlord to tank, had to health funnel it once, otherwise just standard rotation with shadowfury added in to help mitigate damage, Nanners was tougher than this guy.
One of the easier rare spawns to solo. Just avoid his crescent strike thing and kill the add when he isen't in range
90 Frost Mage 480
For any ranged dps w/ snare abilities, this mob can be kited easily.
First clear out any mobs near him, then pull him and kite away from the mogu area so there are no respawning mobs. I advise that you root/sleep/freeze the quilen when spawns, and just continue to kite urgolax. This mob is a part of the "Glorious!" Achievement.
I hope this helped :D
Killed him 5 minutes ago and got the Brawler's Guild invitation. Even though it's not shown in his loot table it apparently can drop from him.
Just died about 5 times attempting this on a fury warrior. Seems like the devastating arc hits you (and 1 shots you) even if you're nowhere near it (I was actually behind him and way out of the arc's visual when it hit me).
I managed to get him pretty low by charging in, getting a little bit of a rotation on him, then just running as far away as I could, but there were still spots where I think the terrain screwed me (I was far away but still got hit by the devastating arc because he was on a hill). Of course, immediately after, some hunter came along and downed him like it was nothing.
Such a annoying Rare Mob for Melee Classes. I just stopped after getting killed 3 times, the hitbox of his 250k crit strike seems more then just off.
This mob, though mogu, and rare, seems to give NO reputation with The Black Prince. Killed him twice now for no rep.
Poor guy. Wandering alone on the Golden Stair where sha-infested corpses of his comrades are lying... I rly feel sorry for him :-(
Just did this as an 89 Frost Mage. Cake.
Frost Nova, then use the water elementals freeze.. Ignore the add he summons.. Stick and move.. rinse repeat. BoP 85 Cloak.. had one the same stats already..
What is this guys weapon anyone know? :L
Killed him 3 times so far today on my level 85 twink, trying to get the agility cloak. He seems to have a spawn rate of roughly 45 minutes on a full population realm.
Is it still available?
For those of you farming this for the toy
, the spawn timer appears to be from 30min to 60min. I killed him five times in a row and came up with the following spawn times: 31min, 48.5min, 56.5min, 35.5min, and 37min which leads to an average of around 42min. This does not mean that the spawn time is exactly 42min, this is just the average that I came up with while farming. Good luck!
Just got him now on 4/30/2016. I saw him briefly when I entered from Kun-Lai Summit, but then he disappeared due to phasing of the zone. I was worried he might not be available anymore to complete the Glorious achievement, but after flying around a bit, he suddenly appeared right by the tent. In case anyone was worried about this like me, I just wanted to confirm that yes, he can still be killed to complete the achievement.
Poor guy, no wonder he's angry, his name sounds like a digestive remedy.
