You have to jump into the giant whirlpool, on the other side you will find this guy and he drops a quest item that leads to an achievement.
What is the quest? What is the achievement?
It's worth noting that he's not undead, but humanoid. If you're interested in this quest's lore, apparently he is not dead after all. Whether this means he never died, or was resurrected, however, I do not know.
Interesting script for this chap...sounds very much like good old Illidan.
In fact, he has the same markings as Illidan, turns into a demon briefly beg=fore he dies, also has an Illidan-esque blindfold...
Makes me wonder exactly who he is and if he's using a fake name lol
Anyway he says:
Telarius Voidstrider says: You are not of the dark path! You do not belong here, worgen.
Telarius Voidstrider says: The shadows will consume you.
You are not prepared
to face the void.
While he does say your race if you attack him as Horde, let it be known he drops nothing of use for Horde players. (No quest item or anything of that sort.)
However, the cave is a nice little hide-out area.
maybe i'm wrong but why is this demon hunter capable of turning into a demon? i thought illidan was the only one who could do that
When did Maive actually kill him?
The only weapons I believe with that model are GM only versions of the Warglaives of Azzinoth.
Just because no one mentioned it and I was curious before we jumped... :) Everyone in your group gets his quest drop. No need to kill him multiple times. *nod*
quest item is only attainable by Alliance players.
If you're Alliance, he drops
. Completing the quest that the item starts awards the
Ghosts in the Dark
If you're Horde, he doesn't drop the quest item.
Had to farm him for Beaded Robe
Spawn Timer = 2 minutes
He is completely hostile, meaning he will attack you on sight (nice for tabbing out whilst camping)
Got the quest item from the first kill, after 10 kills still no Beaded Robe. I'm aware that a .3% drop rate means I will be killing him for some time
Oh, he sometimes has a chest nearby
This Demon Hunter's metamorphosis makes him identical to the dreaded Cleaner.
Hunters who had the privilige of doing their Molten Core class quest, beware. This guy might just give you nightmarish flashbacks.
The Large whirlpool is called Maw of the Void.
For higher level characters that has flight, just hover over the center of the whirlpool for a few seconds and it will actually suck you down.
If you have a pet, minion, etc up make sure it's on passive; otherwise it will fall on Telarius (literally) and immediately attack and kill him.
The respawn time it less than 3 mins so you can sit and wait for the respawn if you're patient.
I wish he could low drop his chest transmog or SOMETHING for people who want to look like Illidan. Almost every night elf main has longed for a near perfect one...
You are not of the dark path! You do not belong here, <race>.
I'm going to laugh when someone inevitably comes back with their shiny new demon hunter, and he yells that at them.
I made a video of 5 cool places in WoW. The location of this npc was one of them.
As upsetting as it is, I'd just like to mention that coming here on a demon hunter changes nothing about his speech. I can't attest as to if it changes the quest item, as I didn't have the foresight to do this as alliance and did it as horde instead.
how to get in the pool
im trying now for 1 hour.. pff NO LUCK...
please what cliff
im flying above and hitting Center. but i only swim and get no Teleport
Just killed him with my NE Demon Hunter, he said the same thing.
A hint of what's to come for our (Azerothian) future.
Although this character hasn't seen any action since he was added in 4.0.1, and there's no sign of him in any of our currently datamined content in Legion, his messages and related item/quest (
) are all very relevant to our assault on Argus.
The shadows will consume you. You are not prepared to face the void.
This old Demon Hunter isn't just talking about demons or the Burning Legion. He seems to have experienced (or at least had a vision of) the power of the Void.
As far as I'm aware, the
is the darkest and most powerful force known in the Warcraft universe next to its opposite, the
. The Void created the Old Gods and the demons. In fact, almost everything dark and evil we've ever seen in Azeroth or any other planet we've visited is a descendant of it.
Lately we've been seeing/hearing a lot about the Void and its creatures:
Whispers of a Frightened World
She's haunted by the Legion... and the Old Gods. But there be somethin' more... a greater darkness...
Kul Tiras armor depicting the island surrounded by void tendrils
Call of the Void card back in Hearthstone
I think we'll soon be seeing whatever it is that Telarius was trying to warn us about all those years ago.
