One of the Sartharion adds in The Obsidian sanctum.
On normal mode forget eggs (a tank must keep their aggro) and continue dps on her.
If you don't kill him your raid will recive a debuff (+100% shadow dmg taken)
This boss is slightly harder than the two other drakes, just be sure to bring a paladin tank :)
He will spawn a portal like the two others but instead of elite spawn you will se 6 eggs inside hurry in and aoe / single target em down. If you dont do this with enough speed they will hatch and run around killing the raid so be fast.
If everyone kill eggs with enough speed he is cake like the two other draks
Not killing him will result in getting 100% more shadow damage on sartharion.
Reference to Tenebrism - a more intense form of chiaroscuro - Italian originated style of painting with violent contrasts of light and darkness.
edit: or the Latin word for shadow - tenebrae. Just finished an art history class so Tenebrism was the first thing that popped into my head.
that hatch inside the portal apply a stacking debuff
which, if stacked 10 times, reduces the target's armor by 15,000.
If you don't kill the adds in time, your add tank might be overwhelmed.
This is what our OT healers experienced when we were doing Sartharion with 2 drakes up, but luckily we had enough dps to adjust our strategy and kill off most of the adds before the 2nd drake lands.
I'm trying to gather information on how to do either
, but I haven't found enough info on the wowhead sight at the moment. So I'm trying to add a consolidation of what I do know, and hope that others will maybe post some helpful links or assist me in providing some tips.
Tenebron is the
drake to engage your raid if left alive. He engages
after Sartharion is engaged. As seen in his abilities tab, he has an aura that will be applied to all members of the raid, increasing shadow damage taken by 100%. This will affect all engaged drake's breath ability and shadow fissure ability. See the links on this page for heroic and regular damage amounts.
Once Tenebron is engaged, you will have
until the next drake, Shadron, engages.
Seeing as I haven't tried this yet, I'd like some simple facts about how people handle this drake.
Does this drake's tank also tank the small fire elementals?
Who goes through portal to kill eggs, if anyone?
Should the eggs always be killed while attempting these achievements?
Thank you for any input.
If you leave Tenebron up when you fight Sartharion.. Will Tenebron's Shadow Flame ability hit your tank for 20k damage? O.o
Patch Notes 3.0.9:
Changed the color of the fissure in the Obsidian Sanctum to be more visually distinct.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##
There is a little nasty exploit to prevent the whelps from Tenebron from spawning. All you need to do is
* Wait until Tenebron spawns
* Have one Disciple Priest run in the portal
* Wait for 1-2 seconds
* Cast Divine Hymn
* Then zone out (use the portal inside)
* The Eggs will be disoriented and won’t spawn when Tenebron calls them!
It saves you from having to use additional tank and risk of him dying as well as increasing the dps time (DD’s don’t have to kill the dragon adds and can dps on Tenebron)
Attention Add Offtanks
- It is
from when Deadly Bossmods announces the portal has spawned until the adds come out of the portal. Plan your Death and Decays, Concecration, etc, accordingly.
Anybody else noticed this page says...
"While leaving the realm, players receive
protecting them for taking fire and shadow damage."
Hover your mouse over Twilight Residue. It's only Shadow damage. (will be fixed in a later patch, supposedly)
For the love of gawd and everything holy, Tenebron is a
Tenebron is immune to Distracting Shot
Technically both would be correct, seeing as how Italian, like most other languages in the area, is Latin based.
It appears to me she enrages, casting Bezerk, increasing damage by 500% and attack speed by 150%. This happened to me on 3D about 5 seconds after it summoned its first portal. Can anyone confirm this? It made tene hit our tank for 45k and critted me (ret pally) for 98k. True as of 31/3/10.
Soloable (on 10 man) by a prot warrior with ~350 iLevel and the Impending Victory talent (use the whelps). The whelps don't give Victory Rush when killed, but you can still proc the talent by Devastating them on less than 20% health.
Solod this guy as lev 85 protection paladin on 10 man
As level 85 Feral Druid, my dps wasn't quite enough to take him down before the adds appeared and teared me down. Might be because I panicked when I saw the adds and started running away. Found out later that they don't have much health so I could have just aoe'd them down.
