Obvious reference to "Thor" Norse god of Lightning.
Loken is his brother - Which is an obvious reference to the two Norse gods Thor and Loke, or Loki as he is sometimes written.
Waaaaay up high on the tower top.
have a storm hammer?
nope he doesnt but u get a quest to find it for him
I've completed the quest chain involving Thorim and Loken, but i don't know what happened to Thorim. I saw Loken's golems take him away somewhere, but he seemed to still be alive at the time.
I expected to find him with Loken in the Halls of Lightning, but no such luck.
Does anyone know where he is supposed to be now?
(i may have missed something really obvious, i was tired when i did the quest chain)
It's a simple traveling quest...
but it takes a while...
Heres what to do...
Head to the top of the mountain, Temple Of Storms, accept the quest...
Fly down to Grom'arsh flight path....
Fly to Dun Nifflelem....
Talk to the King Jokkum, chat to him about the hammer...
You will them be placed upon his brow, and ferried to Thunderfall...
Thorin will appear on his drake you freed earlier...
They will have a D&M and then Thorin's Hammer will appear...
Talk to Thorin to complete the quest...
i hope that helped out.. ;)
Thor and Loki is not brothers , Loki and Odin are blood brothers and Odin is Thor's father. In some stories Loki is a troll , wich in norse mythology is the bad counterpart for the humans.
If you want to open up quests with Thorim and haven't quested in Storm Peaks, go to K3.
will give you quest
They Took Our Men!
This will open up long chain which at
, will let you to talk with Thorim.
Take a notice that this is only if you haven't done any quests for him, as he seems to be in different places as a story progresses.
Some background info:
This NPC is a clear referance to the nordic god, Thor. His wife was even named Sif, just like Thorim's wife. (Thor's wife wasn't slain by any of his brothers, though)
But then again, a lot of stuff in Northrend is inspired by nordic mythologies, like the Valkyries that Arthas uses, Loken(Loki, or as he was named in Scandinavia, Loke) and a lot of other obvious referances.
somehow he is gone in the current 3.0.8 live version
ticket is open, but yet not responded.
edit: gm answered while i wasn't online, short answer is: thorim is part of the new dynamic quest-system. in this system the world changes continuously and the NPC are at different places. i actually never heard of it and still don't know where to find him now, since i still have 4 quests left from him. :/
i would just like to upgrade your information the god of lightning is named thor not thorim and he's a northren god=old god over ICELAND,NORWAY,SWEDEN and DENMARK
Thorim appears to have a new model come patch 3.1 (Ulduar)
I recently saw this message in my chat window, "Thorim yells: look out below!".
Anyone knows what triggered this? So far it happened twice an hour apart and could be seen from the Abandoned Camp area next to his hill.
Loken is Thorim's brother, at the end of the quest chain, he says lets end his brother's madness, just fyi.
One of the many servants of the Titans, Thorim and his brother Loken were tasked to protect what Ulduar holds . Unfortunately, Loken was seduced by power promised by Yogg-Saron and killed Thorim's Wife, Sif, which drove him into a mad rage. He lashed out to his allies and anger and hate and ultimately hurt his great friend, King Jokkum.
Thorim no longer has the appearance of that of a Frost Vrykul outside of Ulduar. He now has the appearance of a Titan both inside and outside of Ulduar.
He has a brand new model for 3.1. Looks kind of strange at first but I guess it fits the lore. Wowhead not updated yet with new model.
...I won't say he looks BETTER now...
he looked a lot more badass with the old model :(
thumbs down for his new looks
*not anatomically correct*
He could atleast give you a ride down. On 60% Flyers it takes a while.
He looks so damn bored.
Wait, you, I remember you.
He's in the mountains.......
To start doing the quests for Thorim, you have to complete a long quest chain that starts with They Took Our Men! in K3 (Gretchen Fizzlespark is the questgiver).
This chain will take you through a series of quests leading up to The Drakkensryd, which is one of the coolest mini-game style quests in Northrend imo. Once you're done with the requirements for this quest you have to talk to Thorim to complete it. Then you can begin doing quests for Thorim, which leads to unlocking the Sons of Hodir faction for your reputation grinding pleasure.
"What are you doing in the mountains?"
He now has voice commands for when you click on him and when you exit dialogue.
He looks like Conan when they talk about him ruling his kingdom with a troubled brow in the movie. Same armor, same stance... there's this and the badlands spot... anybody else know of any other Conan tributes in WoW?
RayEmery, that is a good picture.
Wait, you......I remember you.
Quest-giver re-confirmed post-Cata, and at least a level 76 can grab it. Thin possibility a 75 might, though only tried with a 74 party member and no luck. Quest itself is given by
Goblin town K3
, who at level 77 starts you off with two quests,
. Both quests require you to fly (or ride a loooooooong way around) to get to the town way up above the frozen waterfall to the north of K3. Completion of one of these quests lets you get
, taking adventurers elsewhere along the chain.
Don't know if anyone noticed.. A funny thing is that his NPC voice sources from his feet.
I was clicking on him a few times to try to hear the irritated quotes and realised they were very soft when I was hovering at his head. He speaks with his toes.
"Complacence heralds your doom, adventurer."
I find it interesting (mildly) that he warns you with this saying, but in the end it was his complacency that was his downfall.
