After engaging this boss he will call upon 20 or so elite adds that hit for around 4k a piece. Don't engage these guys, just have the entire party huddle around the boss and you will see that they will just kneel down. Jedoga will drop down, just hit him with everything you got and at a certain percentage of health, he will start floating and a "Twilight Volunteer" will come and offer himself as a sacrifice. The boss will then drop down creating a shockwave to do significant damage, just don't stay too close to where he will drop and you'll be fine. He'll do this shockwave at various percentages of health, just remember to keep moving around but not too close to the guys kneeling.
You only need to clear 1 side up to her, usually its the right side because that side also leads to the final boss.
Upon reaching the top of the stair there are 3 packs of about 6 non elite gnomes.
To start the encounter run over to the fountain in the middle (right under the boss) and AoE the gnomes down.
Once the gnomes are down the boss will attack you and the outer platform will fill up with elite npcs (ignore them for now)
At certain % of hp she will rise up off the ground and emote, at which point a purple zone will appear and one of the Elites will become active and start walking towards the purple area, This elite needs to be killed before he gets to the purple area or the boss will enrage (like Steamvaults if you don't kill the fish tank in time) and this usually end up as a wipe. (She nearly one shot our rogue for 10k when she enraged and i went down a couple of hits later, i was a Prot pally with 17k hp)
Once the elite is down the boss will come back down to the ground and the tank needs to be standing there ready to pick her up again because shes attacks the closest person to her.
Rinse and repeat...took us 2 or 3 cycles to kill her.
Clearing the room before him is no longer necessary - you only need to kill the
, but they are needed in order for him to descend and engage, so nothing special here.
will spawn just before the boss descends, but will remain untargetable/unattackable. Disregard them for now, but spread your group in such manner, so you can keep an eye on every Volunteer in the room.
As soon as the boss becomes attackable, feel free to go all out - his spells are cast on a random timer, so saving your cooldowns for a specific percent HP won't do any good. The spells Jedoga uses are:
, which is essentially AoE+knockback; doesn't hit hard.
will be cast throughout the whole fight, hitting for around 2k-2.5k - about as hard as his normal hits, but not a real concern, unless he's buffed.
is kind of like a Lightning Storm, just stationed on the ground - you will see a white whirlpool-like circle on the ground, which will damage any party members that chill on it. Simply step away from it, it has ~10 yards diameter.
The most important things are to keep an eye for the Volunteers and bring them down quickly - they cannot be slowed, stunned, or CCed in any way, shape or form. Hence, the positioning of the group all around the room - so at least one DPS can spot the attackable Volunteer, call it out, and start burning it.
Currently bugged, if you use anything that will directly pull aggro when she is floating down, all of the volunteers will summon and attack you.
Volunteers are immune to crippling poison...
They are also immune to stuns. You have to burn them down.
Warriors can disarm her when she gets buffed.
This boss seems pretty impossible at heroic mode atm. With full sunwell geared group, we never managed to kill the ads, and she oneshot the tank. Just a notice. The ads have just above 60k hp on heroic mode.
This boss is HARD on heroic mode. The adds have 58.6K health approx. Your tank will most likely have to shield wall if she gets the buff.
If she does get the buff try to run around for 15+ secs keep your getting hit to a minimum.
Just did this on normal at level 72 and she hit me for 12k-13k~ Cyclone Strike... Twice :P Combat ressed.
Really weird since as you say here, it's a "weak attack".
edit: Note that I'm a Death Knight so even though I was in blood presence I should've been able to take a few hits. This oneshotted me, got around 12k hp...
A word of advice, while i was tanking this monster, I found it really useful to make a Raid warning Macro that yelled "KILL THE SACRIFICE BEFORE SHE KILLS US!", its very useful for those newcomers to this instance, and will remind old dogs what to do.
Aside that, if you are a warrior or paladin tank and your group fails to eliminate the sacrifice, get ready to blow Shield wall/Last Stand or the paladin shield wall equivalent, and pray your healer isnt asleep when you start eating the 200% damage she does after the sacrifice.
*Edit* Death Knight Tanks can use their Icebound Fortitude, like Ritz above mentioned, to mitigate the huge income of damage
If your going for the achievment i suggest you bring dps that can of heal(druid, priest, pally and bandages!) since when she's got that buff she will hit like a freight train on steroids
15k+! so when shes got it stop dps and heal like crazy
worked charms for me(didnt get the achievemnt since we werent going for it and were under dps'd since we tried to kill a few volunteers)
I have a strategy that is easy and makes this boss a walk in the park, but I would not be surprised if Blizz soon does something to prevent this tactic.
First, clear just one side of the room, thats all you will need.
Go up to the ledge where the boss is and stand in the water in the middle. ( The top of the little waterfall)
Have the tank then engage Jedoga.
Get her down until she goes back and levitates, at this point, all turn around and jump down the waterfall and run down the middle of the water.
Go back to the door where you first enter the room and stay there.
By doing this you will not have to kill any of her accomplices, which will get you the achievement automatically.
Stay by the door for the rest of the fight. Jedoga will then come to you, and by the time she gets to you, her enrage ability will wear off, which will make all healers happy.
When you get her low enough she will run back to levitate, all stay back at the door.
Rinse and repeat and this fight is easier than Ragefire.
druid (heal), ret pal, dk, war (tank), shaman, did this heroic.
1st add came, we didn't manage to kill it, tank died. ret pal died for w/e reason I was not aware of. shaman died to aoe. DPS DK + druid took her from 75% to 0%.
GG to OPness of DK.
Just did it on Heroic along with the Achievement to let her enrage each time 'round. I have to say it was incredibly easy. The group was mediumly geared with the tank (A DK) and the Healer (Resto Druid aka me) having a couple of naxx 10 epics and hero items. Basically just have party members stay out of whirlwind range and out of the ground aoe and you'll be ok. Other than that it's easy as she doesn't hit that much and (if your tank is a DK) he can also anti-magic shell any magic attacks. Ended with tank not using any cd's and healer with 70% mana. Overall, the achievement is more then worth the (minimal) risk ;)
Encounter in Ahn'kahet
Upon being aggroed:
* These are sacred halls! Your intrusion will be met with death.
* The elements themselves will rise up against the civilized world! Only the faithful will be spared!
* Immortality can be yours. But only if you pledge yourself fully to Yogg-Saron!
* Here on the very borders of his domain. You will experience powers you would never have imagined!
* You have traveled long and risked much to be here. Your devotion shall be rewarded.
* The faithful shall be exalted! But there is more work to be done. We will press on until all of Azeroth lies beneath his shadow!
When calling for a sacrifice:
* Who among you is devoted?
* You there! Step forward!
When fulfilling the sacrifice:
* Yogg-Saron, grant me your power!
* Master, a gift for you!
Upon slaying a player:
* Glory to Yogg-Saron!
* You are unworthy!
* Get up! You haven't suffered enough.
Do not expect your sacrilege... to go unpunished.
Melee back away when she does Cyclone Strike while enraged. It can hit upward of 40,000 damage after armor. Slow & steady, high dps on adds, it should work out alright. Stay out of the lightning pools (aoe).
Done this a few days ago with me as a tank (Lvl 80 Frost DK), Lvl 75 Mage, Lvl 73 Hunter, Lvl 76 Priest, and a Lvl 74 Blood DK.
When you gets to the platform, you will see her floating in the air and she is untargetable. You need to burn down 2 groups of non-elites. They don't hit hard so if you do got some AoE, they can burn them down worrying about dying. After you kill the last enemy from the 2nd group, you will see Jedoga descend and after a few seconds, she will become targetable and about 20 Lvl 75 Elites will run to the area. The party should be away from the Elites
During the fight, she uses abilities such as Cyclone Strike and Lightning Bolt, as well as her normal melee ability. Those abilities are no real danger at all and even I resisted a few Lightning Bolts The real danger is usually after you takes out 20 to 25% of her health she will run to the center, become untargetable and leviatate to the air. After, she will call out a random Twilight Volunteer to come toward and be sacrificed. You will know which one she is sacrificing as she will yell out and channel a spell to free them out of their shell. By then, the Healer, the Tank and all DPS should be DPSing down the Volunteer before they becomes Sacrificed. Do not worry if they even reached the spot where Jedoga is leviatating to as it will take she a few seconds for her to Sacrifice the Volunteer. If she do Sacrifice one of the Volunteer, she will get the Gift of the Herald, which will increase the damage of all her attacks by 200%.
As a Frost DK, we did not kill the first Volunteer in time and she got the buff. To help with surviving her enrage, I use Lichbourne and Unbreakable Armor for the duration of Gift of the Herald. Could of used Frostbound Fortitude, but rather save it if she enrages again. We manage to kill the Volunteers before she sacrifice them and beat her on the first try.
I was doing this boss on normal mode the other day and i dont know what went wrong. We downed her with no wipes but im gonna guess it was because of the 80 Holy Paly we had. Im just curious as to the adds she calls too... im not sure if it was just us but we could not kill them before they reached her. There was me, a dk, lock and a paly focusing on them and for the life of me we still couldnt get it. No deaths or anything but still... any suggestions as to what we were doing wrong, our dps was solid.
One of the best ways to do this encounter on Heroic is to have 2 tanks: A Protection Warrior and a Frost DK.
For the first enrage, have the Death Knight use Lichborne / Icebound Fortitude.
For the second enrage, have the Protection Warrior use Disarm + Shield Wall.
For the third enrage, use the Death Knight again.
So long as you can burn the sacrifice mob down below 50%, she should die on the third enrage.
I tanked this one today on my Death knight, it is frost speced now. The buff is not anything to worry about if you just use what you have in a clever way.
On the first enrage I combined icebound and unbreakable armor, that holds off a ton of damage, on the next one I used both trinkets, the armor one and the dodge one you get from emblems.
If there is a third, as it was for us due to all but me and the healer was dead, icebound and unbreakable should be up again. Lichborne is something I like to have if something goes wrong, since it gives a ton of avoidance with no DR, and it make me able to regain some health on my own if I have to with death coil.
Keep your defenses up when she comes back down and this one is a cake to tank.
Just one big tip, if you have melee people disarm is a huge help.
This boss sounds identical to the villain Rita Repulsa from the classic Power Rangers.
I've had several elite adds showing up mid-fight for no apparent reasons a few times when doing this boss. We cleared the right side every time and nothing special about the encounter until all of a sudden 5-6 elite flamecaster mobs show up and wipe us, and then refusing to despawn.
She will now reset if you attempt to move her down the waterfall to do the achievement. You are intended to have a well geared tank tanking her through the enrage and using disarm to avoid the cyclone strikes.
Your tank should also keep her on the move with melee dpsing from behind. That way melee will have just enough time to run away from her when she casts cyclone strike.
When you reach the top platform, do NOT waste all your cooldowns/mana/etc on the minor mobs there, because once the last one falls, the boss will descend upon your group. Use nature damage negating buffs.
When you start the fight, a number of mobs will enter the platform. Ignore them, as they are no threat...yet.
Phase 1) He will use a lightning bolt attack, and two AoE attacks- a strong melee one and a nature one with DoT. Have your casters with low defense stay a good way back to avoid damage.
Phase 2) He will rise into the air, invurnerable, and shout out to one of his disciples below, and a magic circle will appear below him. One of the mobs will become vurnerable and run to the circle. Use any snaring/speed debuffs now, but mainly focus on killing him FAST. If he reaches the center, the boss will cast a spell that drains the mob, but insanely increases the boss's spell and attack damage. If the boss succeeds in draining, he will descend back down with a 15-20 second buff (not sure completely) that increases his power greatly, which could mean a wipe. If you succeed in slaying the mob before he can cast the spell, he will descend buffless. Either way, the boss will revert to phase one and the cycle will continue.
The key to this boss is to use your most costly and powerful DPS on both the boss and the mob. Focusing them all on the boss could cause the disciple to survive, spelling a wipe for most parties. Alternatively, concentrating all your strong DPS on the disciples means the boss stays alive longer, causing more damage and going into phase 2 more times.
Also, using your auto-target hotkey can help find the selected disciple fast once the boss rises.
Blizass must have fixed the patch cause kite'n her down the waterfall no longer works anymore. She will just reset and you get to start all over.
not sure if anyone else noticed but she has a quote referencing to Yogg
She hit me for ALMOST 50,000. We failed to kill the volunteer, and she got the +200% damage buff. She started charing Cyclone Strike. BAM! 47,970 damage. I was the only one that even got
I was a lvl 74 pally tank when i first fought her, and she was'nt that hard of a fight though.. Even when she got the buff she hitted me for 5k, and overall health i got 14.6k, you just have to activate some of your defence spells then she can't really do any harm to you
This one sucks if you don't know what's coming. Tank+spank won't work unless you're overpowered. So pay attention to preventing the add from empowering the boss, otherwise wipe......says my ghost
Not really that hard, she was hitting my pally for 6k with her buff on, other than that, easily soloable as a level 75 pally, When she gets the buff, i used Divine shield, then right after it ended, used all defensive CDS.
Easily soloable as 85.
Bm spec, spirit beast hunter.
Just DPS. Don't prevent the cultist and you have also gained an achievment.
It's been a long time since I ran this last, and I was just in a group that wiped 3 times on this boss (in normal mode) due to people getting too close to the stairs and aggroing the elite mobs that spawn there when you engage Jedoga.
My advice is to get to the back of the platform ASAP, as it's a long walk back.
If you are a class that can put heavy dots like a feral druid or rogue be aware that if she dies to dots while she is calling her students you won't be able to loot her. Strong possibility at 90.
It seems to be possible to completely bug her if you kill the non elites too fast. She refuses to come down after I killed them all. She still shouts her propaganda, but does not come down no matter where I stand on her platform.
This boss will not come down after aoeing the adds, seems bugged currently with 6.0
Trivia about this boss and some others, as you can see in the older screenshots she used to have a 2handed sword as a weapon.
Back then Shamans had trouble finding valid weapons from raids because blizzard insisted on making swords (instead of axes/hammers).
So shamans were like "let us use swords, you see that big shamans like Jedoga and Drek'thar and others are all depicted as using badass swords".
Blizzards response was removing swords from these NPCs and replacing them with axes/maxes :)
