I love this guy really! At the DK starting area you meet him as a 57 elite I believe... Can't recall exactly. Either way, he makes a magic barrier that protects you while you kill some guy Inquistor. And now it appears that, story-wise, after many years he also joined the Ebon Blade and is now fighting against the Scourge, as a lvl 80 elite in Agmar's Hammer... <3 I love Blizzard at times for doing these kind of things... :)
Actually you almost interact with every single Death Knight npc in Northrend, that you encountered with in the DK Starting Area. Whether they be friendly or not.
Thassarian starts and Alliance-Only questchain.
Duke Valenhal needs to be slain for a quest.
Koltira will also show up in Icecrown.
Darion is obviously leader of the Ebon Blade.
You see what I mean? =D
Fun fact: Koltira's runeblade, Byfrost, is named after Bifröst, the bridge connecting the land of mortals and the land of gods in Norse mythology. Despite the name, Bifröst has nothing to do with ice or snow, but rather means the "tremulous way".
DONT and I repeat DONT attack him if you want to kill him.... on clothie he hits for 8-10k. I kited this guy to the Alliance base "Star's Rest" he killed every single guard and cleave killed some AFK:ers.. Note: he crited the guards for 13k and almost every hit...dont mess with him :)
This is kind of wierd, when you are at the dk starter place thassarian mentions that in life, they were most hated enemies (alliance/horde), but in death, we are like brothers to eachother. And now they are most hated enemies AGAIN, even though they are dead
Obviously another practitioner of the art of "being in multiple places at once" similar to our friend Hemmet Nessingwary =D
Why does the Death Knight have mana?
i just tried to solo this guy...
it didnt end well.
he hits insanely hard...
Managed to have him killed by kiting him to star's rest.
Taunted and kited him while gathering all the guards, and they then started doing a knockback. With around 8 of them, this kept him locked at a range until death. I also started DPSing near the end.
Appears that he's wielding
. Very suiting.
Koltira is notably less awesome than Thassarian, his Alliance counterpart.
I mean, Thassarian raided a Necropolis and helped kill one of the San'layn. The san'layn that lorded over much of the Scourge forces in Borean Tundra.
Koltira has yet to do anything that awesome.
I mean, he's great and all, but...
He should be little nicer after completing all his tasks
Soloed him easily as a frost mage with a deep freeze. Just kite him inside and outside the main gates and he'll pose no threat. The only hit me twice i think during the whole fight.
I saved his ass and he's all like 'Leave me be, fool!' wth thats not very nice...and then like a week after I ran into him in DB and then in Icecrown I was lvlin a dk on a dif realm and I came to his quest and I was like 'Oh I am so not saving your ass again since your just gonna be a !@#$tard to me on northrend!' then it wouldn't let me move on w/o saving him sooooo...once again I had to save him and like a week later when I was in northrend on my new dk he was a ^&*!tard to me...of course...grrr I think I'm just gonna not lvl dks anymore.
he dont give me quest -.- im 71 when i talk to him he just says 'Leave me be, fool!'
For those who don't know in order to open up the quests in service of blood, ice, etc. you must first get a fleshbound tome off a cultist in icemist village that starts a quest. after doing that u are free to do his other quests.
he used to be lvl 55 none elite with 129k health
I wonder what he can do vs wintergarde keep.
Hits 22k armor for about 3400-4700 normal. Nothing special besides auto-attack.
I always thinked he is in Orgrim Hammer or what was that ship.
Koltira is such an ungrateful bum. Despite the fact that I saved his ass back in the Scarlet Enclave he's always giving me lip and complaining about having to translate a tome that I should be able to read anyway.
No wonder hes %^&*ed...he hasn't upgraded his
What is he wearing i know his sword uses the same model as
but is a different weapon he calls Bifrost, but what is his armor? It is obviously not the T9 set that has his name.
According to the manga named :World of Warcraft Death knight which is based on Thassarian's story , Thassarian was the one to kill Koltira and enable him to become a death knight. At that period Koltira and Thassarian became something like brothers in arms. After the Death Knights were released and the Knights of the ebon blade were created , Thassarian went to storm wind and then to Honor Hold in order to fight the Lich King and his army , Koltira went to Agmar's Hammer .
On server called ALPHAWOW , ALL QUESTS AT THIS GUY ARE BUGGED .
Oh Blizzard and your blankness.
In Western Plaguelands you see this guy, a bit buffed up.
So what I don't get is it goes along as every expansion is about 10 years on, so it COULD go:
Vanilla - Private Saurfang (I know isn't true, but made up for an example)
BC - Saurfang the Younger
WotLK - High Overlord Saurfang
And he died in ICC as Deathbringer Saurfang.
So wouldn't THIS guy have to be an undead or something? He did undergo a transformation by the Banshee Queen?
Maybe he just got weaker.
Koltira Deathweaver uses
but he doesn't wear the head or he has turned it off.
All these items drop from "Trial of the Champion"
Drop in Normal mode.
Drop in Heroic mode.
For armor, Koltira is wearing this set:
All pieces are available to both death knights and warriors.
For cloak, he is wearing
. The hilt on
is darker than the one Koltira wears.
Hopefully this helped for others who like Koltira like I do (or just want to dress up like him) :)
