Upcoming changes for the patch 2.2.0 as listed below:
- The players targeted by Saber Lash now gain the immunity to Sinister Beam and Fatal Attraction, regardless of whether or not Saber Lash actually landed.
- Shahraz will now pick a new beam to cast after every 3rd cast, instead of every 5th.
- The first two seconds of Fatal Attraction now deals reduced damage.
- Prismatic Shield has been completely reworked. The shield is no longer adaptive. She periodically picks a random school to be resistant to, and the "opposite" school gets a bonus. Casters rejoice.
- In a later patch, we're blocking off some of the nastier places to get placed by Fatal Attraction, and the "Couches of Death" we'll be fixed. In the meantime, you should be able to mitigate a problematic Fatal Attraction teleport by tanking Mother Shahraz away from these locations.
- Also in a later patch, we'll be able to disable the "decreased melee swing time" effect caused by Mother Shahraz parrying a melee attack. The parry mechanic is exacerbating the already rather intense burst damage that Mother Shahraz can inflict.
For leet druid hacks is get Dementia from the Priestess of Dementia while doing trash then pop +healing trinkets. If you are good, you should be able to get a 1360 Lifebloom rolling per second. I have been able to keep it going from the first Priestess to killing Mother Shahraz. That is about 20min.
Also, if you can get the Dementia, get in full healing gear, pop trinkets, roll a Lifebloom, then switch back into shadow resist gear.
55SR = + Enchant(+15)
62SR = Boots + SR Patch(+8)
40SR = Bracers
80SR = Legs + SR Patch(+8)
+70SR from Priest buff
54SR = Belt
20SR = Helm Enchant
Depending on what you want hearts used for, hitting the cap is fairly easy. Making it so you can put dmg/healing patches on pants instead of 8SR ones. Or you can use a lesser helm, Like season 1 glad or tier 4 helmet to put 20 SR on.
Wondering what happens when you cast ice block with fatal attraction, my guess is it still damages those around you but the mage wont take damage. Anyone willing to test?
For training, aim for the capped 365 resistance buffed (276 unbuffed).
This makes learning much easier.
Some raid groups do not use resistance gear on MT+OTs and some use some (200-250ish buffed).
It is not necessary to be SR capped for this encounter. My raid learned the encounter with all raid members having no less than 310 SR, and most about that level.
The addon, "EasyMother", which tells raid members exactly which way to run when they get Fatal Attraction, makes this much easier.
Been looking for this questline you reference but cannot seem to find it. Any assistance?
and the SR neck available from the Fathom Lord => Al'ar => Winterchill
She wears Pauldrons of Abyssal fury btw,
For many classes, it is not necessary to be SR-capped for this fight. It always helps, but if you find your raid group lacking DPS, try cutting back some SR. Mages are a good class to do this. Personally, I am able to keep my 4-piece T6 bonus and use about 250 Shadow Resist raid-buffed (including Mage Armor). The fact that we can blink when we get Fatal Attraction makes a huge difference.
For tanking, feral druids have better mitigation from her (6-7k damage) compared to 8-9k for warriors. More important, damages on druids are more regular compared to the warriors ones. They are a lot easier to heal for this fight.
In my guild, we tried first a warrior as MT: he died each try. With a feral, he did not go under 35% life each try. Sunder armor were applied by a fury warrior.
We encountered a lil problem with our tanks, tauren war MT and 2 druid OTs. it seems there is some sort of bug with the bear hit box that makes mother out of melee range on the misdirect pull and therefore making the War take a saber lash to the face.
Have the warrior eat a savory deviate delight - problem solved - not kidding
Does Fatal Attraction daze off Cheetah? Also, we just managed the entire fight with quite a efw without SR, and others with only a little SR, so while it makes it useful, it's not entirely necessary. :D
My tip if you are a druid, shift into a form in which you dont have mana, for instance; Dire Bear Form; Cat Form. since then you won't lose any mana.
Mother drops them
with tha fur!
Tha whole raid was Needin' on hur!
She hit tha flo!
Next thing I know!
My rolls were low, low, low, low, low..
As for many of BT´s bosses you need Shador reesistance so bring an alchemy guy to make
so you will have less problems with healing.
Lies, Saber Lash do not make you immune to the beams. It only makes you immune to the knockback the beams can do.
This is the offical statment on the Patch 2.2 from Blizz and link to prove it if you dont belive me :)
Saber Lash tanks will no longer be knocked back by Sinister Beam or hit by Fatal Attraction, even if they dodge or parry the attack.
in 3.0.2 patch Mother Shahraz got 3,1 million hp.
Officially no longer needs shadow res gear. A bare minimum will basically suffice, our raid killed her on our first ever attempt with only some people having the Medallion Karabor, and of course Shadow Protection.
Her name may be a reference to Shahrazad from 1001 nights.
im a girL and i must say. Shes one hot momma :D
Okay, in raid now so I need to make this quick
My raid had insta-wiped 3 times now. WHen she is supposed teleport three people with the debuff, she does it to the whole raid at once and one-shots the raid.
Any input? Yes I have talked to a GM, no help.
Oh, do I have to be Tyrande again tonight? Can't I be a nurse or something?
First defeated by Nihilum of Magtheridon on the 3rd of June, 2007.
Blizz should fix this boss... her ass doesn't show. Pretty ass too. :)
/r/ing sound files for my fap folder..
Mother Shahraz has a 10 minute enrage timer (for some reason this site doesnt say that) and the fight requires lots of shadow resistance gear. She hits around 7k on plate (at lvl 70) and doesnt crush. Other than that it's a straightfoward encounter.
The most the game mechanics will let damage be resisted is 75% regardless of your toon's level. As this is a lvl 73 Boss, the maximum shadow reistance you want is 365, anything past that will have no further reduction in damage

How to Solo:
How to 3-man:
Just soloed as Enhancement Shaman. Was alright, wiped on first go, but managed on second attempt. Essentially run in popping ALL your CDs and keep hitting her. Lay down Healing Rain on CD for healing when you're silenced and use maelstrom stacks for that and healing surge. Should be able to get through it like that. iLvl 455 btw.
I just killed her today as survival hunter 490ilvl with no problem at all.
Only dangerous ability i encountered is
which tossed me high into the air and i received a high amount of falling damage.
Soloed as i480 Frost Mage, but I had some difficulty figuring out the right strategy. The difficulty for casters is that she starts issuing 10-second silences shortly into the fight, and once she starts doing that, you only get 5-10 seconds in between each cast to act. This is not a problem for, say, a Hunter, but for a Mage it's devastating.
My usual level 90 talent is Invocation, and I have the glyph that makes it heal you. The problem is that casting Evocation to heal between silences leaves you with almost no time to do actual damage as well. So she gradually beat me down faster than I could return the favor. This is especially problematic in 5.2, where the healing power of Invocation with the glyph is greatly reduced.
The key to the puzzle is Rune of Power. RoP heals you passively, and during the silences besides, so you don't have to waste your precious casting time on healing. The other thing you can do is get some bombs (I used G91 Landsharks, which Blingtron sometimes dispenses). You probably don't need them, but they're nice because they can do damage during the silences.
Here is the full strategy I used:
1. Make sure your Elemental is up, obviously.
2. Cast Rune of Power within casting range and stand in it.
3. Pop Time Warp, Icy Veins, Ice Barrier, and Mirror Image.
4. Shoot off as many Frost Bombs, Frozen Orbs, and Frostbolts as you can before the first silence. Also Ice Lance and Frostfire Bolt whenever they proc.
5. Once she starts silencing you, use bombs during the silences. But most of the time you just wait the silences out. Kiting didn't work for me, and you want to stay on your RoP anyway.
6. In between silences, you have to make the most out of the short time you have. The priority list:
- Rune of Power. Make sure you always have one of these underneath you.
- Ice Barrier. Keep it on cooldown.
- Mirror Images. Keep this on cooldown, too, but it may never come off cooldown until the fight's over, so never mind.
- Ice Lance and Frostfire only if proc'd.
- Frozen Orb.
- Frost Bomb. Often the Frostfire will proc while you're silenced, and you won't get to use it. That's okay -- frost bomb is still worth using.
- If you know or sense that you are close to getting silenced again, forego Frost Bomb/Frostbolt, which might get interrupted, for a weaker instant cast like Fire Blast or Cone of Cold. If you don't get a sense of the rhythm of the fight enough to anticipate the silences that well, don't worry about it.
These instructions may sound inflexible, but they're really not. If you follow this general approach, there is plenty of room to make mistakes and still pull through. The main things are to keep RoP up and Ice Barrier on cooldown.
Sadly unable to access this boss due to the door being locked! Nooo! Gurtogg Bloodboil and
Reliquary of Souls are gateway bosses. Unable to defeat them solo so can't get into Mother's chambers. Shame! =(
Soloed this with my 85 blood DK in 417 ilevel gear including Jade Forest greens and auction house blues.
This fight is a simple tank and spank if you're a melee class. If you're a caster class you're going to have trouble with her because of
. Not much else to say.
Here's the video:
Black Temple? More like Black Brothel! Starring Mother Shahraz as the main madam at the most demonic @#$%^house this side of the portal.
For any Priest who may be interested to know - This one can be a pain, but not because she is overly dangerous, but because she silences for a good while, making you unable to act at all. Just keep shield up, your dots ticking and make sure you dont dip too low in health. 491 Shadowpriest.
I just finished this fight on my 481 affliction lock. After reading the comments, I tried to figure out
. I sent my VW in to tank and I backed up to max range. I casted as far back from her as I could. When she casted the silence, I stopped casting. I didn't get hit with one silence. I don't know if it was about the pet tanking or the range, or not casting when DBM told me the shriek was coming up.
For all of you wanting the nice transmog that drops from her, if you're an Affliction lock, 90, use Observer or imp with the demon enhance glyph, for healing, or if you need dps, summon your strongest attacker. You will primarily be using drain life. Get dots in when you can, but make healing a priority when down 30%, while trying to keep curse of enfeeblement up at all times (About once every other silence)
Get up next to her and melee her, yes, melee her during silence. It will take about 5 minutes. Demon will drop a few times, keep it up with soulburn as she will interupt long casts too much for the long summon.
You may need Glyph of Drain Life
I guess I'm just having a lucky streak, but I've killed her 4 times since the 6.1 patch and I got the
Anyone know what chest piece she is wearing?
I can confirm that the skip to her (as a Demon Hunter) after Supremus still works in 7.2, for those still trying to farm their Warglaives of Azzinoth for the upcoming LFR raid to acquire the actual transmog appearance.
For those looking to farm her for Tmog or the pet you will need to kill all bosses prior to her to open the doorway to the Den of Mortal Delights. Reading a comment made earlier it seems there's a skip that Demon Hunters can use, but I am unaware of the details of said skip.
