Nihilium downed him today May 10th on the PTR.
Pics and loot:
The sewer rat in the picture is priceless
Very healing intensive fight.
When you pull Naj'entus make sure you spread out around him properly, he will randomly do ~20yd (?) AOE splashes which cause 3-3,5k damage.
Also he will trow a spine at someone, this player will be stunned and taking a lot of damage over time. Someone needs to click on the spine to pick it up. (Everyone should make a /yell macro saying he/she has a spine to make it easier for people to pick it up fast)
At some point Naj'entus will shield himself, when this happens you have to top heal everyone and the player who picked up the spine should throw it at Naj'entus when everyone has over 8,5k hp (when you break the shield it will damage the entire raid for 8,5k damage). Because of this everyone should have well over 8,5k hp (preferably 12k+ so he/she can survive shield+splash).
Don't be tricked in taking over 8 healers though, Naj'entus is on a 8min enrage timer forcing you to take less healers than you would want for a healing intensive fight like this.
Macro for throwing the spine:
/use Naj'entus Spine
For MT Healer(s):
/target High warlord Naj'Entus
/use Naj'entus Spine
/assist High warlord Naj'Entus
For Raid Healers:
/target High warlord Naj'Entus
/use Naj'entus Spine
While High Warlord Naj'entus will be immune to any damage while the tidal shield is up, rogues' abilities will continue to generate combo points - you can dump any that you have on an eviscerate right before the shield goes up and then use shiv to generate several combo points before the shield is popped.
A few tips for mages, help out healers by using frost ward whenever its up and be sure to use your Ice Block on at least one of the shield breaks. Seems obvious but I'm surprised by how few people remember to do so.
where can i get the spines?
This guy's a joke compared to the next trash pull...
...but 4 wipes later we find out you can just hug the right wall and get past all the little punks.
It is possible to apply debuffs to Naj'entus through the bubble, just not do damage. If you aren't a healer yourself, your first priority should be to bandage when the bubble comes up. If you don't need to bandage though, you can use the time to reapply whatever debuffs your class has.
where can i get Naj'entus spines?
this fight can be very strainful on healers make sure the dps are the ones to pick up the spines as healers will be busy trieing to keep every one up.
rogues can cloak the aoe 8.5k dmg on shield pop, the way to do this is when he has tidal shield on u should have dbm tells every one that is under 8.5k hp so the person is not suppose to use the spine until every one is healed up when the list is clear pop ur cloak immediatly and there goes u are un dmged with full health u can do this for about every 2 sheilds..
None of his attacks are made more powerful by amplify magic. His Tidal Burst hit me for exactly 8500 damage when I tested it out. Sooo mages, put amplify magic on peeps to help your healers out, even if it's a little bit.
So is Naj'entus a big naga or something like that, working for illidan?
If timed properly rogues can negate the 8.5k damage from his shield bursting with Cloak of Shadows. However, depending how long your raid keeps his shield up before throwing the spine you will most likely still take the damage every other shield.
I haven't been able to find this, so I would like to ask here before my guild moves into BT: is his frost damage partially resistible? In other words, will frost protection potions and frost resistance auras help in any way or is it a waste of time?
High Warlord Naj'entus was one of the leaders of the original multi-pronged assault on the Black Temple by Illidan, against Magtheridon. The naga forces, led by Lady Vashj, conducted the naval attack through the massive sewer system of the temple. Eventually each portion of Illidan's forces met up to battle the pit lord in his sanctuary. He was one of the highest ranking Naga, along with Fathom Lord Karathress, to accompany Vashj to Outland.
Naj'entus was left in command of the myrmidons and their tamed hydrae after Vashj left to fortify herself at the Coilfang Reservoir. No one other than the naga know why he is so grotesquely mis-shapen, nearly fused with the giant shells that form his armor -- perhaps the poisonous sewage generated by the orcs and broken above have mutated him from the naga warrior who left Nazjatar to follow Vashj and eventually Illidan. He was likely unaware of Vashj's death, even after his own death during the cleansing of Karabor.
His Needle Spines are physical damage to the target they are aimed at, but the splash damage is Frost. I've found Frost resistance totem/Aura was able to eat up a respectable amount of the splash damage; Especially in melee-heavy raids.
how frequently uses Najentus his Tidal Shield ability?
I am also interested about - yes I know I'm a sick one - if this Tidal Shield can or cannot be
stolen by Spellsteal.
Does anyone know if the Tidal Shield damage was reduced in patch 3.0.2? If it was, what is the new damage?
If your raid can't beat this boss, turn around and don't bother with Black Temple.
It's pretty basic. The only challenge about this boss is the intensity on the healers, but with the 80 level cap from Wrath, it's not that hard to just AoE heal it. IF you see an ally stabbed with a shard, take the shard and put it in your first bag. Then, open up your bag. As soon as he pops his shield, throw the shard and you'll do ok.
It's worth noting pulling the mobs in front of him obviously won't pull the boss, so don't sweat it.
Have a blast.
First defeated by Nihilum of Magtheridon on the 26th of May, 2007.
whats is this guys id?
i done this boss, at the beggining we just hited and hited him and got killed.
the damn shield he puts on himself is a pain in the ass cuz if you hit him while he has that shield he heals, bastard lol.
well since i got kicked around the middle of the raid..... got nothing else to say except that the essences are a pain in the ass or at least the place where they are nonending mobs
played around with him last night. DK tank, Kitty Druid dps and Disc Priest healing.
Killed him just before his enrage timer.
Anyone know the sound files for this boss? I'd like to hear 'em. =)
It appears that sometimes there is a glitch in which it says
High Warlord Naj'entus
Level ? High Warlord Naj'entus High Warlord Naj'entus (Player)
I've seen this with the doomwalker, except it says doomwalker.
Can not be killed solo by Tanks atm, as he doesn't use his Impaling Spine on his current target and heals himself to full everytime he uses his Tidal Shield.
decided to see if he was 2 man able yet, had a boomkin and myself (holy priest), in mostly heroic gear, got em down with no mana trouble whatsoever. i just stood next to the boomkin while he was tanking so he could click the spikes off me quick and it was just rinse and repeat after that.
in case you were wondering, no, he cant use impaling spine on pets, so it seems impossible to solo ATM. to be able do so, the DPS done must be higher than the healing from tidal shield which heals about 130K per second.. so i dont see this guy being soloable for at least another expansion (probably not even by then either)
edit: apparently some classes may be able to solo this guy by "resetting" the encounter before he casts the shield and then quickly re engage him. that reboots the timer
Can this boss be skipped? Assuming steath or FD or something by a hunter attempting to solo trash for rep?
Today i "soloed" with 2 wow account. 2 window. DK tank and balance druid. Easy, just need to use ALT+Tab :D
This boss could technically be soloed - if you are capable of doing
during the times the shield is not active.
This is assuming he casts it one minute in, it lasts 45 seconds, and he casts it one minute after it has been removed.
ed: He casts it 60 seconds in, it lasts for 45 seconds, and he casts it every 60 seconds, so if not broken he will recast it 15 seconds after it falls off.
Therefore you will need to kill him before the first shield - needing
to do this.
ed: Why downrate? It's true, and at the end of this expansion there are some classes that -will- be able to burst this much DPS over a 60 second period.
Soloed by a Rogue.
It involves pulling the boss as far back to the beginning as possible, vanishing/Shadowmelding during the shield, then attacking the boss with a ranged ability to re-aggro him after his buffs reset but before his health does.
Bring a friend or guildie and just have them afk / auto-follow. (Let them know they'll get half of the gold from the kill too!).
They'll get all the spines and you'll be able to use them to break Naj's shield. The rest of BT is now open for you!
I haven't seen any comments concerning the fact that Illidan keeps his Naga in the sewers, while his other followers get to sit in the training grounds or the Den of Mortal Delights. If I were High Warlord Naj'entus, I would not feel very valued.
Correct me if my math is wrong but wouldn't he be soloable by a hunter using Widow Venom right before he pops Tidal Shield every time?
If allowed to pop Tidal Shield every 60 seconds, just before the enrage he would have healed a total of 4,182,885 HP (3,904,026 HP with Widow Venom). With Widow Venom, he would only require 13,666 DPS total to kill him right before he enrages, even without Widow Venom, it would require 14,247 DPS.
14k DPS is easily achieved prior to ilvl 350's. At 14k, by the time he pops Tidal Shield, you would've done over twice the damage that he'd heal for.
Off to test my theory.
If you are running a two man level 85 run you have to know a few things. He will do the impaling spine on you and hopefully not both of you at the same time. The other player clicks the gear on you to remove the spine and free you. You can have trouble targeting a player in melee range of Naj because the shield bubble becomes the target and you see a sword cursor instead of a gear. A good way to avoid this is have "1" be the signal for melee to move away just before impale spine is cast so you can click the gear. The spine that you remove is now in your bag and should be thrown to break his tidal shield so keep your bag open and add the spine to an action bar for the next time you get it. I hope you get your gear on that spine because if you can't break the shield he heals and the run is a wipe.
A warlock can also solo this encounter, though it's much more harder and annoying, go demo spec, nuke him with all you got, and use soulstone on yourself, you need to use soulshatter the moment you have really low hp AND when it's really close to his bubble, so that either the doomguard or felhunter will tank for a few seconds, and then you get impaled and hopefully dying from the 2.5k~ ticks on you, you use SS the moment you die, loot the impale thingy off your corpse, and tank him, hopefully not dying, use HS+potion if needed (since you'd probably need it) and don't let your felguard take the aggro otherwise you'd get impaled again, and when he got his next bubble you use the spine to break the shield, and kill him in that time.
again really hard to perform, atm I'm wiping on it :')
A guide I made on how you can 3-man Black Temple.
A tour around BT, showing the road
Naj'entus, Supremus and Shade of Akama
Teron Gorefiend, Gurtogg Bloodboil & Reliquary of Souls
Shahraz, Illidari Countil & Illidan
Good luck, I hope the guide helps in whatever you want to get out of BT :)
Nobbel the Noble, League of Champions
85 druid Feral
Tried today with 2t13 doesnt seem to matter how low i get him he eventually end up with full health cannot dps enough yet. If Berserk were ca stable every minutes i might have chance..
He also seem to cast his shield back to make thing just bit harder..
I think this is only doable with min 2 people.
If anyone does manager to solo please post it on Youtube :)
today 12/19/2011 with( 2) 403 pvp pieces some 390 pvp and the rest 378 pve gear trinkets were just Fluid eye and Ricket's anyways you need to be a night elf for shadowmeld i just dotted him really good kept up my savage roar and 5 combo rips. When his shields up and you
shadowmeld just go bear form maybe throw out 3 lifeblooms to heal up, when he says die! die! die! about 15 sec later his shield will go down during that time i would throw on my bear dots and hit thorns then start building up my combo points so i could hit him with a 5 combo rip right when his shield went down. it was pretty simple once i learned the shadowmeld reset trick. Alas i didnt get my polearm drop for mog ugh guess theres always next week....
I figured out a way to solo this as a Blood DK, using a simple strategy, that just requires a little bit of luck.
Step 1. Move in, and let the boss melee you for about 5 seconds, don't cast anything
Step 2. Summon your ghoul, since you didn't attack you should have no threat, and your ghoul should take agro
Step 3. Once you get a spine thrown at you, Dismiss your ghoul, and spam right click the spine. If done properly you should be able to pick it up.
Step 4. Wait for the boss to cast his tidal shield, and just sit there taking the hits to the face, do not use any abilities that may increase your threat.
Step 5. Summon army just as Tidal Shield finishes, remember, you shouldn't have hit the boss at all etc, so army will be able to tank it. Once again, allowing you to get another spine.
Step 6. Spam right click the next spine thrown at you. Pick it up, and rejoice as you now have two spines to throw at the boss, giving you 120 seconds to kill the boss, instead of just 60.
I can concur that disengaging and resuming the battle directly will indeed trivialize the shield, and therefore the battle if you want to solo (considering you do 22,1k dps which can still be very hard solo).
As combat rogue I vanished when the shield appeared and immediately continued with a Sinister Strike when the shield dropped. I was only a few yards away from his initial spot, it doesn't matter as you continue with a melee ability. As he was already below 50% I knew I was fine on the dps.
unfortunately you cannot bypass this boss. the exit to the next area will not open until he is dead. So if your trying to solo, your out of luck.
Good luck with this one if you're trying to solo it. Just had a bash as an ilvl 380 Combat Rogue and got totally owned. Died twice on trash getting to the boss, and got nowhere with the boss - vanish worked when the shield came up, but I was doing nowhere near enough dps to count. Died so quickly, not even going back for a second go at the boss until I have better gear. Ho hum!
Solo'd him as a blood DK. If you're blood and interested in coming here alone for transmog stuff here's a detailed guide of how I did it. It did take a little bit of luck.
1. Equip a tanking 2h but use you dps gear otherwise, reason is that you want to be hit/expertise capped
2. Spawn your ghoul but dont engage him till your ghoul has 30-40 seconds left on the clock. This way your ghoul will be up a little sooner should you need it
3. As previously mentioned, body pull him but do NOT hit him. Let your ghoul get agg and he'll pin you down with a spine.
4. When clicking on the pin, I found that if you click too rapidly in succession you will not get the spine. It's best to click quick but full clicks. This is a tricky part, too fast and it wont loot, too slow and it wont loot.
5. When he pops his shield, you can DS heal yourself to full. It will not cause additional aggro but other actions might.
6. Here's the part that requires the most amount of luck. Somewhere between 20-1 second left on his shield you need to spawn a blood worm. You can hit him with auto-attacks, DS, and runestrike to get this. Your bloodworm will then replace your ghoul as your next tank. If you don't get the bloodworm then you can either reset or pop army.
7. Lucky willing, he'll pin you down again while attacking your bloodworm. Repeat steps 5 and 6.
8. Once you get about 3-4 spines (4th you can pop your ghoul again if you need it) you can dps him down. You should have about 4 min left before he enrages at this point. Since you're hit capped this should be easy. Just be sure to watch for his shield and be VERY careful about your spines. I accidentally threw 2 at him on one attempt. Don't forget any dps helping abilities like dancing rune weapon and all that.
Best of luck!
Managed to solo him this morning as an Ele shaman, 406 ilvl mostly heroic DS gear + legendary staff. Brute forced him down, no gimmicks. Took 2 attempts, first attempt got him to roughly 10% before he cast his shield. 2nd attempt I killed him, only difference was a volcanic pot.
Here's what I did in detail:
Precasted a heal to pop power torrent and prepot a volcanic potion for max damage on fire elemental, precasted Bloodlust to save a GCD. Used my normal opening, and popped fire and earth ele. Got him down in 48 seconds, 56.2k dps.
This can be easily solo'd by a Night Elf Combat Rogue in 397 gear.
The shield prevents any damage and heals the boss as well. You can easily burst him down to around 50% hp before his 1st shield, pop Vanish and continue DPSing. If he's still not down by the next shield, simply pop Shadowmeld.
As long as you do an attack as soon as you aggro reset, the fight will continue.
Solo'ed as an Enhancement Shaman today, taking inspiration from Ishana above about brute forcing it. 396 iLvl, normal raid gear.
Used Flask of the Winds, Fortune Cookie buff and Drums of Forgotten Kings. Dropped SoE totem so wolves would benefit from it. Right before the pull I popped Tol'vir potion, engineering glove tinker, Feral Spirits, Bloodlust. Then it's a burn there. BARELY made the timer. Have to be a little lucky with parries.
Najentus Solo - A Guide for Level 90 Tanks by Chronalis @ Shadowsong Europe
Class And Spec:
I'd just like to add that at level 90 in very early MoP gear (a few crafted epics and many dungeon drops), i was able to solo this as a Protection Paladin. I was sat on 454K HP, 4.6% hit, 5.4% expertise, 17.3K AP (before vengeance, using kings).
The trick to do this is to pull ALL the trash before the boss with you. Even the trash in the side "rooms" should be pulled. Once it's all gathered up and you're at the boss, you're potentially looking at around 28K AP from Vengeance alone (my total peaked at around 45K). At this point, pop all your offensive cooldowns (Holy Avenger and Avenging Wrath). You'll want to follow idea of spending all your holy power on Shield of the Righteous. Thanks to Holy Avenger, you'll be doing 1 ShoR every ~3 seconds.
At some point, his bubble shield will go up, but he doesn't heal up to full. He heals for a modest amount (i saw around 300K healing over the entire duration of the bubble). At this point, i'd gotten him down to around 400K, and so when the bubble disappeared, he was at 700K approx. It took merely seconds to burn through this as my cooldowns were once again available.
If you start to struggle with your health, absolutely pop some defensive cooldowns and spam Word of Glory/Eternal Flame, but ideally only do this if his shield is up and you're unable to damage him because of it. The trash is easy enough to clear out once he's dead, but it serves the purpose of stacking vengeance up and nothing else.
Spec and Talents
Protection Paladin with
- Pursuit of Justice (choose whichever you prefer)
- Repentance (choose whichever you prefer)
- Eternal Flame (Sacred Shield would be a good second choice though EF is strong for the HoT)
- Unbreakable Spirit (Clemency would be a good second choice if to avoid the net from trash)
- Holy Avenger -
- Light's Hammer (Personal Preference - Execution Sentence would be a good second choice)
- Glyph of Word of Glory
- Glyph of Alabaster Shield (Adds up to a LOT of extra damage)
- Glyph of Consecration (Focused Shield would be a good second choice)
As you can see, many of the talents are optional, and i'd personally only say that Holy Avenger is mandatory. With this spec and these stats, i managed to take down Najentus solo with him only casting 1 shield on my second attempt. The first attempt i had to run out as there wasn't enough trash to stack vengeance and thus i couldn't burn him fast enough.
Edit: 29/12/2012 - Corrected "Cataclysm gear" to "MoP gear".
The boss is also somewhat easier now as his shield doesn't appear to last as long (assuming this is related to the soloing hotfixes from a few months ago). Protection Paladins shouldn't worry about the change to Seal of Insight's interaction with Hammer of the Righteous, and you should be able to adapt to the change if you focus on healing when you're low on health instead. This wasn't covered in the guide but it's probably been questioned by people reading.
soloead as a green geared lvl90 warlock.
no need to die/vanish or anything:
let the pet tank, dps him in phase1 (he will heal but not to full).
when he cast a spike on you just spam right click to get it (you'll loot it when the debuff wears off). Do this twice, you need 2 spikes.
Having 2 spikes, dismiss the pet (or he will spike you again) and dps him do death.
...if you miss too many chances to loot the spikes he will enrage in 8mins, his damage was just a little too much for me. Probably you could survive the enrage if wearing mail+.
Two video guides for the Black Temple:
How to Solo:
How to 3-man:
Looks like really bugged right now, my char just stop playin any kind of animation, just stay static while doing damage...cant generate rage for some reason, well, looks like they did something with the boss, and u cant kite him to the entrance anymore, he just resets.
Solo'd as lvl 90 Furry Warrior ilvl 461. Got him down with about 40k DPS until he bubbled. Gathered rage and went all out for the 15 seconds between each bubble. Took 4 bubbles to kill him and didn't hit the rage timer.
Tried this last night after the 5.1 patch as an ilv472 Ret Pally just to see and it was just a tank and spank. No bubbles, spikes or adds popped. I continued just to test Reliquary...and the second phase was as painful as pre 5.1. He is still very unfriendly :)
Soloed as a Blood Deathknight in Masterwork spiritguard gear.... Very much a 1 step forward 2 steps back kinda fight took me a while to down him due to the heals... necrotic strike helped a little but not much... actually hit his enrage timer and he started hittin like a mop elite but eventually got him down Edit* Might try on my druid but i doubt it.... truthfully the fight they needed to nerf was the Essence of desire fight -.- -.- -.-
I must be the only one who can't solo this guy now. level 90 bm hunter in heroic dungeon gear.
Can't loot the spines off of myself, no matter how hard I spam.
Oh well, off to Sunwell I go.
Solo'd as a
(~ilvl 455 tanking gear) after the 5.1 patch. My DPS is awful, but was just barely high enough to outpace his shield heal. Second wind can out-heal his damage even after he has enraged, so you can literally take all the time you need to do this fight.
soloed easily as a 90 affliction lock in ~ilvl480 gear. just dps him hard from the start, burn all cooldowns, voidwalker tanking. he didn't spike me until he was down to ~500k hp, and my remaining dots + pet + doomguard finished him off before the spike wore off.
If you are a warlock, do not summon demon. or the boss will keep using Impaling Spine on you. I believe this also happens to hunters.
From what i have experienced, every time i have a demon summoned, i always get Spiked. If my demon died, i never get spiked.
You dont need any demon to tank for you if you are 90. I am 89 and Life Drain itself can out heal his attack(not enraged). even the boss has the shield on and immune all damage, your life drain can still heal you if you use it on him. you can still use Fel Flame to keep your dots or re-cast dots and curse on him. Recommended spec to nuke him is Destruction.
As long as you are any class in World of Warcraft, and can do fairly over 20k dps, you can solo this boss thanks to
entirely, nowadays (MoP). Don't try any fancy 'get a pet to tank and
' strat. If you're going to use a pet at all,
just make sure you're tanking/#1 threat, because the tank never gets spined, even if you're alone.
only lasts 30 seconds since patch 5.1 and therefore only heals 15% (405k) of his health back over the entire duration (1% every 2 secs) so it doesn't take much to counter that once the shield fades.
On the other hand, If you can do 45k dps through the first minute, you won't have to worry about the shield at all and shouldn't even be reading this because you thought it was a tank and spank fight this whole time and are already struggling at RoS! =D
...Unless of course you're that special case (like me) and
do 45k dps
you thought it was a tank and spank fight until you
your pet tank it cuz that's what hunters do, got spined, and came here for wtf-just-happened-2me-assistance! Now, just take off
and do it again! =D!
I Can't solo him as a 89 ret paly iLvl 400. We are pretty well matched and the fight went on endlessly until I tried to reset the encounter by running away, gathered some adds and wiped it. He does not reset if you leave the room.
Monks have an *incredibly* easy time with him in dps spec. Rising Sun Kick blocks his shielded healing with no issue at all.
..that's if you don't kill him so fast he doesn't GET to shield, anyway.
as long as you are the one that holds the aggro, he wont use spine on you. no need to dismiss your pet, just turn off your pet's taunt. i just killed him as a survival hunter. no spiked for the whole fight.
Just killed him as a blue-geared 87 Destro warlock. Had the imp out for added damage, kept DPSing him as much as I could, and lifedrained my way through the shields. He died just before the 8 minute mark, which killed me before. Tough fight :)
Not sure what happened during the fight, but something stopped my Auto Attack. I have /startattack macroed to all of my abilities but occasionally my Shaman would just... stand there taking hits. With Flurry active that's a lot of DPS.
Lvl 85 Firelands/DS geared Enh Shaman, was unable to beat the timer due to odd Auto Attack bug and the shield. Got him down under 300k before last bubble, then he enraged and mauled me.
BARELY got him the second time, again due to the shield and weird bug. Got him to like 101k HP before shield, then DPS burn from 500k, Searing Totem, Spirit Wolves, whew! I hope he is not a "gateway boss" because he is annoying as hell! XD
Soloed this with my 85 blood DK in 417 ilevel gear including Jade Forest greens and auction house blues.
The fight is just a tank and spank. As you fight him he will bubble himself. While he's bubbled he's immune to damage and heals himself. In the past you had to pop the bubble using spears that were launched at other raid members, never the top aggro, or he would heal himself. The bubble would eventually fade but then he would recast soon after so there wasn't enough time to damage him without popping the bubble. This made the fight virtually unsoloable. It was only soloable by pet classes and then it was a long process.
Now you just wait and after the bubble fades you can continue damaging him. The time between bubbles is longer and it doesn't last as long. The healing he does now isn't enough to make up for your DPS.
There's a strange thing that happens at the start of the fight. If you watch the video you can see that it looks like I'm just standing there doing nothing but if you keep watching you can see damage values floating upwards which means I am damaging him. I don't know what's going on. I'm guessing the animation bugs out. I've seen others report this problem.
Here's the video:
For any Priest who may be interested to know - this particular boss is 100% soloable and pathetically easy. I thought it would be a struggle as a 491 item level Shadowpriest, but my Power Word: Shield wore off before he breached it. He came close, but even in the second or two of him and all his adds wailing on me between shields, he barely scratched the paint off my nails.
did they change something in 5.4? Im a mage and I don't keep my ele out and I get the shell. I keep my ele out I get the shell. im lvl 90 with full timeless entry gear. but this naga is so far not going down. now if I could not get the shell id burn him like a piece of bread. im lost. but either way I do it. I keep full agro and still gets the shell. any suggestions players?
Wonder how many nights he stayed awake farming that title.
I'll chime in with my results as well. As a fairly decent geared feral druid and in bear mode, I was able to get him down to about 6% before he finally just obliterated me. Kinda odd considering I can roll through almost any other BC mob without issue. High Warlord Naj'entus I tip my cap to you. Well fought indeed.
Killed him in 46 seconds as a ilvl 476 fury warrior. He didn't even get to his transition phase. I recall having a lot of trouble on my frost dk doing this guy early last year at a slightly lower ilvl.
The animation bug was prevalent in my fight too.
Easy tank and spank with ilvl 315 Enhancement Shaman on 6.0.3
Unable to solo him as an epically-geared 80 prot pally. Couldn't do enough damage in between bubble heals. I never saw the spears mentioned in other comments, but I'm wondering if that only triggers if others are with you. Strangely he goes nuts a few minutes into the fight and starts doing a lot more damage, so much so that I had to bail. Once you make it about halfway down the ramp though, he resets. I'm going to try skipping him.
Press the "View in 3D" button to see the amazing HD new model introduced in BFA, compare to those old screeshots.
As of 8.0.1 he has received a new HD model.
