Does a conflag on random members within 30 yards. Not an issue in phase 3 due to the staff buff, but in phase 1 all healers and RANGED dps should be at max range. Melee must stay back as she will arcane explode if close.
As the warlock tank in Phase 1 you'll have to stay at a fair distance from her as the conflagrate is at a shorter range than the fireball. If you get hit with conflagrate then she drops aggro for the duration.
In phase 3 the conflagrate shouldn't be an issue due to the staff aura and mace buff.
Fire resistance gear isn't necessary, just need a warlock with high health who can cause some decent threat with searing pain.
Ok, quick question. When we get Capernian into position for the lock to tank everything will go fine for the first 3-4 fireballs then all of the sudden she'll conflag the soaker and then charge in closer to the warlock.. Does anyone have any idea why she does this, or how to correct the issue?
Nether protection? Tried tanking her this one time and noticed that she'll switch targets when the casted fireball was immune (NP up). I tried clicking it off asap so she would turn to me again. Pain in the ass to tank with NP.. specced right out of it once I noticed what it does on the fight.
Exactly, the warlock tanking her cannot have the Nether Protection talent.
I think This boss is a refference to an Astronomer name Nicholas Copernican, but really this is just my opinion...
Thank god she doesnt have mana shield.
Sounds like Blizzard likes to have their employee's kids for voice acting...
<thinks of a certain Tauren questgiver in Mulgore...>
Annoying? Very. If you're soloing TK, this woman is the first one you want to rofl-stomp as quickly as you can when Kaelthas re-animates his goons. Blow cooldowns as well, or you'll find yourself disorientated while the others fear, stun and silence you.
She is without a doubt, probably the most dangerous character in Tempest Keep.
Blam, disorientated....disorientated...disorientated. Dead. /repeat till lucky.
Monk can one-shot her with
I think she's the Sha of Frustration.
If you're attempting to solo Kael'thas and can equip a Staff, simply loot the
once the "weapon" phase ends and use its protection field right before the next phase begins (right as Kael'thas finishes talking about "fighting all four advisors at once").
If all goes well, the four advisors will be rezzed, and you'll be immune to Telonicus' Remote Toy and Capernian's Conflagration, allowing you to switch back to your normal weapon and breeze through the phase. Just be sure to kill those two first. :)
(soloing) Using the staff doesn't work for me. If I put the buff on then unequip the staff the buff goes away. If I put the buff on myself and keep it equipped the buff stays, but it seems to do nothing against all the stuns. I clearly have the 15m buff on me when phase 3 starts, staff equipped, and I'm stunned and conflag'd like a MFer. Unless you're geared to the teeth soloing this encounter seems like there's a lot of RNG luck involved.
PROTECTION PALADIN TECHNIQUE
Equip a PVP
loss of contro
l trinket if you have one. If you don't have one, it's easy to get a low level with very little PVPing.
1) Kill the counsel where they spawn, then wait there in front of the main boss for them to be resurrected.
2) When they’re all resurrected, begin running to the back of the room, using Judgement with the Long Arm of the Law talent to get you to the back of the room quickly. Because the woman is a caster she will take the longest to get to the back of the room, and because The Blood Hammer runs the fastest, he will get to the back of the room first.
3) Pop Avenging Wrath, Holy Avenger, and Devotion Aura, then QUICKLY kill The Blood Hammer at the back of the room, and then immediately kill the second counsel member to reach you.
With only two of the counsel left standing it will be easy from here.
4) Drop Execution Sentence on the woman as soon as you can, because she will have you constantly slowed and running around in circles out of control. Kill the Engineer, then finish off the woman. Pop your PVP trinket if you find yourself CCd too much. You'll only have one shot with the trink, so use it wisely. Don't use it if the woman has knocked you back, because you'll be too far out of range to do any damage after coming out of the CC.
I put this little guide here because it'll never be found under the main boss with the hundreds of comments.
I hope this helps Prot Pallies. I would love to see detailed techniques for other classes. I have a really tough time on my Rogue, even at lvl 90. The problem is that you can't vanish to get a good opener, without resetting the encounter. Though I should try my Shadow Dance rotation to get the first two down.
She's wearing , and I think
