Outdoor 25 man Raid boss, Shadowmoon Valley. If he kills you, you get a mark on you for 15 minutes. Just like the outdoor Dragons in Azeroth, you cannot enter back in combat with him until the mark has worn off. If you do then there is bad consequences!
My mobhealth addon clocked Doomwalker at 2,300,000 HP (2.3mil), not 230,000 as is listed above.
Doomwalker has three main abilities:
Overrun, which seems to be a random charge effect that damages everyone he runs past or directly over for 750-1250ish damage. He returns to the primary aggro holder afterwards.
Earthquake, which does 8k damage over 8 seconds (4 ticks of 2000) in a large radius around him. Everyone is knocked down/stunned for the duration of this effect, so everyone needs to be kept over 8000hp. Despite the ability being named earthquake it's simply anyone in a large radius around him, as folks on flying mounts got hit with it and killed when they never landed.
If you are killed by Doomwalker, you get a 15 minute "Mark of Death" debuff, which will instantly kill you if you get within ~50 yards of Doomwalker.
He enrages at 20%. Other then the high stam requirement on everyone, he's pretty straightforward.
I ran by him wearing my tanking gear, with a couple buffs on, just exploring the area. At 13000 AC, he nailed me from behind with a crushing blow for 12488 damage, autoattack. Ouch.
Mob is severely bugged, earthquake hits people farming the temple above even if no one is engaging him. Also can hit flyers.
This boss is very hard (IMO) if you want to do it, try this tactic
Good Luck! ;)
btw dont think its an 25 man raid boss as invis told imo more liek 40 man ;)
Can his enrage be taken away by Tranq Shot from a hunter?
Here is the complete list of his abilities. Thank you
Physical damage. 100 yard range. Deals a total of 8000 damage (2000 ever 2 seconds). Cannot be mitigated with armor. It is possible to move out of range once the ability has started, but players may often get stunned and knocked down. The simplest way to counter-act this ability is to always have health over 8000. You should bandage once the ability has stopped. Occurs at least once every minute!
Periodic Buff on Doomwalker which increases his movement speed by 100%. When this buff is active he will deaggro and charge other players (based on threat). Off tanks should taunt when Doomwalker comes into their vicinity and drag him back to the center. A main tank should taunt him off the off tank. All DPS should stop during this ability. Occurs at least once every 45 seconds!
Nature damage (Binary Resist). An attack similar to that of C'Thun stage 1, but not as frequent. The lightning will chain between players and the damage will increase as the chain gets larger. All ranged DPS should stack on each other in piles of 2. This will create more room for other players, and guarantee that only 2 players ever get hit. This is a much safer strategy than hoping only 1 player gets hit with little room. Players should spread out in distances of 10 yards because the lightning cannot chain beyond that. This ability can never hit the main tank.
Reduces the armor of the players tanking, eventually to a point where the main tank can easily die. The two tanks should alternate tanking. When tank A has 3-4 stacks, tank B should Taunt and tank. When tank A loses his Sunder Armor, he should Taunt back. This way, you will always have a tank with low amounts of Sunder Armor. This will make healing much easier, allowing you to heal other players who are getting hit by Overrun, Earthquake, and Lightning Wrath.
Ocours when Doomwalker reaches 20% health. As of Feburary 19th 2007, a hotfix was applied to fix Enrage giving double damage to Doomwalker's Abilities. It is no longer possible to get instantly killed with an Enraged Earthquake. The fight will occur as normal except all auto attacks (ie. non special abilities) will be double damage during this period. If a tank dies, the off tanks should run in, taunt, and immediately hit Shield Wall until they possibly die.
"Mark of Death"
Debuff given to a player when they die in range of Doomwalker. They are unable to attack Doomwalker for 15 minutes. Any player with this debuff will automatically die should they get close to him.(##RESPBREAK##)396##DELIM##Buuloki##DELIM##
Any1 know how long reset time this guy got ?
For the most part, the fight is tank and spank with a bit of C'Thun Eye Beam-esque spreading. Basically, MT, 1OT, and melee will tank him on the 'road' in the center (retardedly large hitbox, think Onyxia/Kazzak). Groups 1 - 8 will spread out and group up in number of 2s to limit how many people at once get hit with Chain Lightning. Or, if you prefer, you can harken back to Emeriss and how you did group positions there.
When he Overruns, DPS stops, and a tank (we use a Tankadin to yank him back to the center, frees up other Warriors to relax a bit) will pull him back to the center. Overrun resets aggro, so adjust accordingly. Earthquake pops, have over 8k health, bandage/pot, heal. Lather, rinse, repeat. OT/MT switch when Crush Armor gets too high.
Sounds easy, harder in execution as he's constantly moving around. Taxing on healers, as he doesn't pull his punches, and you *have* to get people topped off after Earthquakes and CLs. At 20%, the real fight begins.
His enrage is retarded in how hard he hits (11-15K normal hits on plate, and that's before any Crush Armors) and you basically have two options: Feral tank with as much armor as possible to soak up and reduce the hits to a bit more than pre-enrage, or Shield Wall tank rotation. Sometimes, you will get extremely lucky and have a Warrior mitigation like crazy -- be glad, praise him, and milk it for all its worth because you're going to need it.
You really want to wait to push enrage *after* an Earthquake. The Earthquake doesn't insta-gib anymore, but the hits he lands on the tanks as the healers struggle to get him up after taking the 8K DoT almost always does.
20% is basically "you better kill me before I kill you" DPS, so give him *EVERYTHING* you have. The best analogy I can give is like trying to tank Battleguard Sartura's "Out of time" enrage for 20%; it's not enough to kill in one swing (unless you are crushed by a parried attack or shortly after coming out of Earthquake as he melees from incredibly far away (i.e. our tank with full epics from Karazahn and 3/5 T4 got one-shot for 27K after an Earthquake because he misjudged how close DW was, though TBH it wouldn't had mattered at that point since he had 4 Crush Armors on him and was the only tank alive)) but you feel like it should be.
It's not easy.
In patch 2.1, he has voice clips, and sounds like a terrible impression of Darth Vader.
mobinfo shows him having 2.2 mil hp as of today
Downed with 5 ppl with the "swimming bug"
50 minutes..eh :P
respawn timers on doomwalker and doomlord kazzak btw?
Were he is located now? After 2.1 area were he were before changed.
Also he can not be kited....he stops right at the opening of the "walk area" he has....if you find someone raiding him and you shoot him, i would sugjest not to. it is very easy to wipe and if your a clothie and the raid wipes hes goin after you in one hit.
Doomwalker is a powerful Fel Reaver sent by Kil'jaeden to assault the gates of the Black Temple in Shadowmoon Valley.
It has exactly the same abilities as the normal Fel Reaver except from the Overrun ability that is described below. It is much stronger and hurts a lot more.
Earthquake - 2,000 physical damage every 2 seconds (total 8,000 physical damage). He will be stunning everyone for the duration of this spell. This stun can be avoided with any kind of shield. The damage will hit players flying overhead, as well, but again, avoiding the stun.
Chain Lightning - This appears completely random. It damages the first target for estimated 2,000 damage. It will jump like normal chain lightning to anyone within 5-10 yards doubling the damage for every hit! (spread out to avoid being hit)
Overrun - Randomly charges people, they get knocked back. This appears to wipe the aggro. Best countered with tanks being ready to pick him up. He will do this spell several times in a row until he is picked up. The buff is described as "Increases run speed by 100%" and lasts 5 seconds.
Enrage - At 20%, all physical damage is doubled. Kills even Shield Walled tanks.
If you are killed by Doomwalker you gain the debuff Mark of Death. This debuff (similar to the Dragons of Nightmare bosses) means that you can only attempt this boss once every 15 minutes, because the Aura of Death would kill you instantly.
There appears to be issues with Misdirection on Doomwalker. Occasionally, he will switch from the Hunter pulling to the main tank (MT) accordingly, but while running past still attack (and kill) the pulling Hunter. An alternative solution you may use is having a Paladin body or ranged pull (bombs, Avenger's Shield, Holy Shock, etc.), run to the MT while the Hunter operates Misdirection, and then use Divine Shield before he is hit. This allows the Hunter to stay behind the tank (and thus not get hit due to glitches), the MT to snag hate, and no one die on the pull.
This fight seems to be centered around allowing guilds to see how all three tanks (Paladin, Druid, Warrior) can work together on a single boss fight:
There is a workaround to Doomwalker's enrage. A feral tank can easily soak up the damage from Doomwalker while enraged and not die provided their armor value is incredibly high, due to it being a physical attack. The feral tank will end up taking more damage than a Warrior will pre-enrage, but nothing compared to the double damage a Warrior will take once outside of shield wall (an unlucky crushing blow will obliterate a Warrior in one shot).
While many guilds will suggest you use Warriors to Taunt and pull Doomwalker back into the center, some have switched to using Paladins simply because of the range allowed with Righteous Defense. A simple macro can allow the Paladin to simply "yank" the mob back into the center without needing any further assistance from Warriors on the edge by spamming the macro before it targets a non-tank.
Doomwalker will leash if pulled too far from his normal path.
His area effects (Earthquake, Aura of Death) will affect players who are flying. It is strongly advised to stay away from him even while in flight, as a death in mid-air can make corpse retrieval difficult or impossible. He will periodically cast Earthquake as he patrols, which can catch players off-guard.
here is his Quotes :
* Do not proceed. You will be eliminated.
* Tectonic disruption commencing.
* Magnitude set. Release.
* Trajectory locked.
* Engage maximum speed.
* Threat level zero.
* Directive accomplished.
* Target exterminated.
* System failure in five... f-o-u-r...
edit : edited thx
Although it seems to be a 25-man raid boss (right outside of BT, about that hard for well geared people...) why can't you bring 40 people? :D
Well, I did this guy about a month ago with 31 people and wiped :P. After you wipe you get Mark of Death, pretty much: don't try to rez by your body till its gone, or you will die, what happened to us is pretty much not enough healers, and non-experienced players. IMO, don't bother trying him without some experience in your group.
i heard you can get him as a pet with universal remote control. can you
There are some guilds out there that can kill Illidan but not Doomwalker. Is this guy really that hard?
Aggro sound can be listened with that command.
drops 22g per person and badges in 2.4+
it's funny watching pugs wipe on him :)
i just watched a 40 man get him down to 88% haha
all nice and all but what is his respond time? 1 day? if he has a short respond time it might be nice to basicly farm his gear for the g bank alowing people that just hit lvl 70 to be well geared and start off on the right foot
Probably not a particularly relevant question, but does he count as a fel reaver for purposes of the Shattered Halls key?
I'd have thought not given that by the time you're raiding world bosses like him you're probably not doing the SH attunement.
Also the "Hotter Than Hell" SH attunement quest for both Horde and Alliance specificaly states, that you have to kill a felreaver in Hellfire Peninsula. Link to that quest below.
maby Gnomish Universal Remote (
) can tame this robot)
just a ntoe about the mark of death, you do not need to be killed by him to be affected by it, died near him on the atam'al terrace and was sti affected
Do Not Proceed! You will be Eliminated!
Beware: this mob's 'Aura Of Death' can be triggered without ever needing to be killed by him. As long as Doomwalker is up, dying too close to him at all, whether it is from him or not, will place the Mark Of Death aura on you. Those who are farming the terrace for Sunfury Signets or questing here should be especially warned.
The long and short of it, if you die on the Terrace, and wind up with Mark Of Death, stay *far* away from the edges near the center, or Doomwalker's aura may suddenly one-hit you. The only good news: there is no loss of durability for an 'Aura Of Death' death.
Tried to 2-man with a Holy paladin and a Blood Death Knight, bad idea, lightning wrath hit the DK for 75k.
Need at least 10 people to burn him down fast enough and have only a few of you die.
Just did him with 8 players; 2 warrior tanks, a paladin and priest healing, a shaman, two hunters, and a ret paladin dpsing.. had no deaths and the tanks didn't even get very often, so the enrage at 20% was no issue. Earthquake does hardly any damage anymore, and the overrun is easily tauntable and does next to nothing.
3 Manned with a Druid tank, Paladin healing, and Enhance Shaman for DPS. Dropped 500g as well as 2 BOE epics. Was not hard in the slightest, paladin would taunt with the debuff timer was low to get the -armor off the druid. 168g each for 15 minutes of work
2 manned without much effort as naxx geared tank and healer. Drops 500gold and 2 epics.
SOLOED! Not by me though. One of Korgath's best players Serennia did it on his 22/5/44 dk.
thats the link to the video check it out its sick
This boss has been solo'd by Mionelol from EU Illidian server. Drops 517g. Check out
for the forum thread on it.
Duoed by a Prot Warrior and Ret paladin, mid level gear.
they should make an archievment to kill all world bosses, would be fun :p
Is all hes item sell able in AH! 0.o
First off: spell checker is your friend
Second: How exactly can two people "solo" a monster? Doesn't that kind of defeat the whole purpose of the word "solo"?
just duoed this today - me being a Feral Druid and my friend being a Holy Paladin. We had a mix of heroic/ naxx10/ naxx25 gear.
We actually wiped first try - we got him to 10K hp and due to the crush armor debuff i had about 4K armor left - and in his enrage i was taking huge amounts of damage - the blow that killed me was about 22K - insane hits.
So we waited 15 mins to try again - this time i saved my Cd's near the end when i had a few stacks of the debuff on me - Survival Instincts, Frenzied Regeneration and Barskin. (I was using Barkskin throughout the entire fight when it was up).
2nd try we killed him - dropped about 250 gold each and nice BoE epics.
Good luck farming! :D
if u wanna enter bt u have to kill him first or u can just pass him?
Soloed him today on my DK in T8.5gear tanking of course. Pretty easy you can range his Armor debuff if you time it. Most of the time he wont even hit you with it.
500gold plus sold the two items for 300gold and 240 not bad.. 1kgold
I will be looking for him again!
since he is a 25 man raid how long is his respawn time?
System failure.....In 5.............
yea just got him to 15% on my dk, then used Army of the Dead to try to finish him off quickly. He chain lightening'd a ghoul and it bounced through all of them and killed me for 35k dmg. so pretty much don't use army.
Is there anything to do about Crush Armor? Trying to solo him as a blood tank. I find Crush Armor stacking to 8 or 9 times, along with the frenzy, I can't stay up for long.
I have seen 2 very skilled players solo him one was a level 80 blood speced Death knight the other was to my surprise a orc Shaman restro spec (very good in game player) but i would not sugest soloing without at least 5 80s i good tank and 4 heals on him at all times
This boss has been shown to be soloable in the WOTLK expansion. Here is a link to a youtube vid that someone took of proof that he could be soloed:
. Hope this helps.
i cant find that damn thing xD
Aestu of Bleeding Hollow-US.
Soloed by a protection paladin in full Ulduar-25 gear, but clearly possible with much less.
Took 20 minutes. Looted 478g and two BoEs.
Stack block and keep Holy Shield/Divine Plea/Sacred Shield up. Keep up Seal of Wisdom and judge Light or Wisdom depending on your mana/health supply. When he soft enrages at 20%, put up Seal of Light and begin chaining cooldowns. If he manages to stack Crush Armor, BoP/Divine Shield out of it.
Crush Armor can be blocked, dodged and parried. If he is repeatedly stacking it, you are either letting Holy Shield/Sacred Shield fall off or need more block and avoidance. When Doomwalker soft enrages or stacks it several times, it will be easier for the debuff to stack even further, as the Crush Armor ability will hit for more and be harder to block.
Slightly offtopic, but has anyone tried kiting
to him? I'm curious if it's possible to get both of them fighting among themselves.
Since Kurdran has loads of HP, and hits for a decent amount, if you can aggro him onto Doomwalker somehow (Paladin kiting him and bubbling when you engage Doomwalker, or until he casts Earthquake), then i imagine it'd be a fun fight to watch.
He's not too difficult to solo as a blood DK tank.
He can be tanked anywhere. Having decent avoidance is advisable, keeping horn of winter up at all times is necessary; equipping a weapon with agility and using a more avoidance based tank set will work well You should aim for hit/expertise/avoidance over raw stamina as the hit/expertise makes it less likely a death strike will be parried or miss, and it's your primary source of healing. The two sources of incoming damage you really have any need to be concerned with are crush armor and melee white swings. Overrun is helpful to get you away from him, and lightning wrath also does very little.
Crush armor is a melee ability and stacks to 10 (leaving you 0 armor). This is survivable as long as he's not enraged. The debuff, once reaching 10 stacks, cannot stack any higher and additional stacks cannot be applied or refreshed, so the stacks will fall off naturally and reset to 0
To minimize stack buildup if you have stacks and don't want more, pop icebound fortitude and run away from him when he casts earthquake. He will channel it for 8 seconds, so you have 8 seconds of run time to get away. That's 8 seconds of no additional stacks, and another 4-5 seconds before he is in melee range of you again.
Death strike heals will keep you up for the fight. I generally would get him down to about 600k, then DPS slowly to try and ensure that I would enter his enrage with no stacks of crush armor on me. If you have stacks, try to have them fall off before you enter the enrage phase.
During enrage, I would cast army after the first earthquake and continue to burn him down using death strike over heart strike when possible, try and save FU runes for death strike. Save icebound fortitude as a last resort, and save death pact as well. I'd bring up a risen ghoul at about 175k HP left or as soon as the army ghouls are all dead. Vampiric blood's lower cooldown this patch makes it much more convenient to use so you can go from being almost dead to full health in just a couple GCDs.
You really won't be able to survive more than 4 stacks of crush armor during the enrage so if you start accumulating stacks, run away during an earthquake and start channeling army or pop any avoidance trinkets as soon as he reaches you again. Save avoidance trinkets for if you've built up stacks.
500 gold and two BoE epics that sell for 150-500g depending on your server, definitely worth the effort.
solo'ed him as a prot pally mostly t8.5 and some ToGC gear was easy enough just bubbled when needed to
Here is one simple tip: Avoidance gear.
did this guy today as a lvl 80 Blood tank DK. i was fully ToC 25m loot'd out and he was very tough.
he dropped 515g though, not the 465g that wowhead says he has.
besides the immense amount of gold, the boss drops are BoE.
-Nichodemux, Dalaran server
How much would your HP have to be in order for this to be fairly easy? My HP Gear bumps at 36.7k HP and my Avoid at 50%Avoid 34kHP.
Me (Prot paladin) and a rogue from the enemy faction (In PvP gear) killed him without much trouble. My paladin has like 33.5k HP with sanc up, and I forgot to un-equip Thunderfury, so it would probably be 34k if I used my normal weapon.
First 80% was easy (And was rather fast thanks to the enemy rogue). Last 20% was pretty annoying, but I managed it, was close though. Probably since the armor debuff got too high, I thought the extra damage was from his enrage, since, at the time I didn't know or notice the debuff.
Since the rogue was enemy faction, I got to keep the 500G he dropped (Although I asked the rogue on my alt if he wanted 250 of it, but he was like "nah, keep it").
I'll probably put the 2 BoEs up on the AH later today and see if they sell alright.
I'll try for a true solo next respawn.
i just soloed this today as a prot pally, took quite some time, about 15-20 min, but well worth it, like some previous posts, just time ur trinket (dodge/parry) w/e cooldowns to increase ur chances of ur debuffs wearing off. Dropped 490g and 2 boe epix!
Was pretty hard to solo as a pala tank. With his crush armor i couldn't outheal it. Barely survived. 5.1k Gearscore
Took 20-25minutes, Worth it though for 504g and 2 epics.
Easily solo'able as a tank once you're in ToC gear. I'm wearing mostly 232-245 Normal gear, and I solo'd him just fine.
He almost killed me a few times during his enrage, but I was running Seal of Light and Judgement of Light to bring me up on health. He dropped the trousers and the neckpiece, as well as 512 gold ... very pleased, since I'm levelling a mage.
To recap, for Pallies: Spam Holy Shield, Judgement of Light, making sure the two are up as much as possible. Throw in DPS abilities where you see fit, and keep Divine Plea up. After about 25-30 minutes, you'll have a few hundred more gold, and some purples to sell / use on an alt.
I was wondering, are there any other bosses like this at all?
With large gold loots and soloable?
The 2 day spawn timer is rough but if there were a couple of these bosses to check every now and then it could be some steady loot.
BTW soloed him on my DK, was stupid the first time and died when boss was at 5k hp! LOL. Smartened up and killed him the next time no problem.
Two manned him this morning with a Feral Druid and a Holy Paladin (myself).
The way we dealth with Crunch Armor was to ignore it for the most part, and if the duration left on it, regardless of stacks, got to around 15 seconds, I would taunt him and hold him while spamming FoL on myself until the druids debuff wore off, then he would taunt him back and resume. If the stacks ever got as high as 6 or 7, then I would taunt immediatly and hold him, though this only happened once. If this had happened after his soft enrage at 20% the plan was for me to taunt him and to HoP the druid and then he'd take the boss back ASAP, though luckily it never came to that.
10-15 minutes work and we were both 1 level 70 BoE epic and 250 gold richer :)
Good gold farming this guy is.
I didn't see any other Druids yet, but he can be solod by a Feral Druid as well!
Just make sure to keep your cooldowns for the last 20%. I didn't even really need my survival instincts, you have to be a bit lucky with your dodges though! Good luck!
For those hunters out there looking to solo Doomwalker, heres a few tips.
for your first time join a BG AV/ Isle and get fully buffed to help you out. If you have room in your stable get a Warp Stalker their amazing for this. 2p T5 obviously.
Hit me up in game if you have any questions always willing to help with any solo questions you have :)
i saw a paladin solo this guy today
As a warrior I reach the enrage and die as the sunders reach too high. I could keep trying but it's insanely frustrating to have it easy for 80% of his health (which is 10-15 minutes of void where you think about the meaning of life and things you could've done instead of this), then reach the enrage and just die even though you used your cooldowns as efficient as possible. It seems that alot of luck (read: avoidance) is needed for a warrior to solo this. Even though I need lots of avoidance I still need to sacrifice some of it to spec into bloodthirst and glyph it so that I can actually stay alive against his attacks. I've decided to never try this again because there's too much RNG involved, the fight is either gonna be a cakewalk if you avoid most of the sunders, or you are gonna be unlucky and waste 15 minutes of your life because you suck at rolling the die.
Moral of the story: roll a better class for soloing content, or don't solo at all and bring friends.
i soloed him 30 minutes ago as prot pally 40.8k hp selfbuffed... till 20% it was just tank and spank.... ss, sanctuary, divine plea, SoL, JoW used all the time, i used also 21
. 488g and
Talon of the Tempest
Fathom-Helm of the Deeps
for me... Enrage was very painfull... when i had more than 5 stacks of
i used HoP, Loh after Argent Defender... on 1% i used HoP again for clearing stacks of debuff and oportunity for healing...;) i killed him after 27 minutes of fight... Good luck with soling...:D
In one server this guy was bugged and does 200 damage...sloed him with a shaman and gained a new record for my shaman...0.8 speed with 2 weapons...3500 DPS!I had nothing else to do... :D
Just solo'd him as an 80 Prot Pally with roughly ICC10 gear (GS 5.4k). Took me about 20 minutes or so, and got me down to about half health. Dropped roughly 525 gold (woot!) and two nice epics that I put on the AH for a decent amount of gold (hoping they sell)
This dude is way to easy to kill. Just soloed him on my 80 Death Knight. Dropped Fathom Helm of the Deep. And like 2k gold.
Definitely not too hard to solo as a 5.5k GS bear tank druid. The first part of the fight is pretty lax. Feel free to use Frenzied Regeneration if you get below 80% or so health, but if you have Imp LotP then you shouldn't really get that low. Use Berserk too to shorten the fight up a bit, but make sure it's off cooldown in the last 20%. Also he applies a stacking armor debuff. The best way to get rid of this is to kite away from him after he knocks you back or earthquakes, since it's a melee range attack,
Once he hits the frenzy, then things get tougher. All of his attacks hit for double damage, meaning you effectively have a much smaller time to kill him. Blow your cooldowns when you need to. I managed to kill him during his Frenzy using each cooldown one time (Barkskin twice), keeping Demo Roar up, and without any healthstones/potions/resto spells.
Dropped 522g and two BoE epics. One of em looks pretty decent for my paladin when he hits 70.
EDIT: It's also worth noting two things. First of all, he has a long respawn timer being a raid boss, and is frequently hunted. This means you may want to hearth often and go to Shattrath to check if he's spawned. Alternatively, people with
can check at any time and hearth back.
Secondly, this guy has a tendancy to be very noisy. He will broadcast yells pretty much every time he performs an ability, meaning if you are on a PvP server, you have a small chance of being attacked by an enemy who wants the kill for themselves. To make matters worse, if Doomwalker gets the killing blow on you after you are attacked, then you can't attack them back due to the debuff.
Doomwalker is a powerful Fel Reaver sent by Kil'jaeden to assault the gates of the Black Temple in Shadowmoon Valley.
The cunning mo'arg engineers of the Burning Legion pushed their gan'arg workers for weeks in the construction of the first fel reaver, a massive construct that could easily raze fortified towers or tear the wings off an airborne gryphon. Though pleased by the success of their construct, the engineers quickly realized that they could improve upon the design. While the forge camps began to mass-produce these fel reavers to smash the mortal forces of Outland, all the manpower of the mighty Legion Hold in Shadowmoon Valley was dedicated to the creation of a superior machine.
Now unleashed, Doomwalker rages throughout Shadowmoon Valley, annihilating everything in its path. Infused with the captured souls of martyred draenei, the Doomwalker is empowered with unparalleled fury and might. With the fortified strength of its gargantuan body and the unbridled power of countless tortured souls, this newest fel reaver is among the most powerful weapons of the Burning Legion.
It is an ? Elite (Boss), and has exactly the same abilities as the normal Fel Reaver except from the overrun ability It is much stronger and hurts a lot more. He can crit tanks for 15k. It is interesting to note that this boss used to patrol the zone on the Burning Crusade Beta, but this function was later removed due to complaints.
Just soloed this guy with my Pally tank ICC geared (5981 GS)
It was a lil' hairy near the end my passive did go off and I had my finger on my LoH but he fell b4 me.

With a 5900 Gs your hp should have never went below 80%, i soloed him easily with a 5400gs prot pally, and this was a breeze. now to sit and wait for respawn!
Soloed as a Blood DK with a 5k GS. Found it simplest to pin myself against one of the barricades to nullify his knockback. Didn't even realise there was an armor debuff until I read the comments here to see how many others had pulled this off.
Yay for blindy stumbling into fighting a wandering boss mob and barely winning at the 21:25 mark with 1500 life left.
As a prot warrior, I'm curious as to whether or not there are any warrior solos of this boss. On my usual tanking spec I wouldn't stand a chance, however I created an alternate tanking spec which is much more regerative via the Bloodthirst ability (also glyphed so every 4 seconds I can regen almost 3k hp) Can't wait for this $%^&er to respawn so I can try my hand at soloing him. Might be the first warrior to ever do so.
Easy soloed by blood dk. 5,6k gs. He was rarely hiting me and for low dmg.
Develops confirmed that the initial plan was to have Doomwalker walk around shadowmoon like the fel reaver in hellfire. If you look at the map, you can see the "path" he would have taken around the map just like the Fel Reaver has one with the shape of Hellfire.
This wasn't applied cause..well.. he would have cut a swath of death, suffering and destruction through an area which was heavily populated and farmed during its hay day. Blizz decided it might be too disruptive, especially with raids trying to take him down.
does anyone kno his spawn timer?
Just had to comment here, that at last this can be soloed by Rogues, quite a shortish fight, fun! and nice to be able to solo things :)
blood dk will own this guy now, ima try it no doubt ima own.
Just did this as a blood DK post 4.0 patch which is when death strike heals turned to crap. The only advise i have to DK's attempting to farm this is dont summon army or blow your summon ghoul cd his chain lightning thing will nuke you. Just get your diseases up (especially 10% reduced damage disease from blood boil) and other than that use runes for self heals when u think your 100% sure (death strike, rune tap, vampiric blood) since rune regeneration sux for DK tanks ur gonna have to watch em when soloing this guy. As a 5.3k (addon gs) tank this took about 11-15 min very easy gold, and the BoE's CAN sell on the a/h for a pretty penny, US horde Khaz modan has terrible economy and mine sold 100g per. i really wanna try this with frost mage or demo lock
I recently did it as a Demonology Warlock. It was pretty easy, since all I had to do was make an "auto-clicker" that kept spamming Health Funnel and let my pet do all the job. I could just sit back and enjoy =)
(Btw, you may need some gear for this, I have 6.2k GS so...)
I was able to defeat him as a Solo Protection Paladin today, took 14 minutes of fighting but he went down.
He counts as a Boss (Skull) level enemy, so Hit Rating and Expertise do count here (recount recorded a few parry's blocks and misses).
Frenzy was a bit dangerous when he had 5+ stacks of Crush Armor on, so keep an eye on your HP bar after that 20% mark.
Hand of Protection removes Crush Armor however so you can bubble up and click it right off to clear the debuff when it gets too high.
Average iLVL of 243, Using Seal of Truth, Blessing of Might, Retribution Aura and 'Wind Powered' (small haste buff proc) from the Cata events.
I was spec'd into Guarded by the Light and Protector of the Innocent, so when i hit 3 stacks of Holy Power, i used Word of Glory for healing.
Successfully soloed as a level 83 ret paladin, i managed to survive the enrage mostly because of mastery procs used on word of glory, as well as using nearly all holy power on word of gory. I also used seal of light, however, i think you could use Seal of truth instead until he enrages, good luck!
Solo'd last night as 85 Demo Warlock.
Very straightforward, tank and slow DoT, but be careful when he charges because he does reduce or completely wipe agro on your pet. I recommend either saving felstorm for picking up agro after these charges or using nukes more than DoTs so you can control when the damage is being done. If your dot's are ticking away when he charges, you will pull agro, and while his hits aren't deathly (6k per if I recall on cloth.... didn't pull agro during frenzy but probably alot worse.) they do hurt and it's tough to get agro off of you if felstorm is on CD and since it happens a few times in the fight, soulshatter is only going to help once.
My wife (level 85 fire mage, average iLevel 328) and I (prot paladin, average iLevel 339) easily "duo'd" the thing in just a few minutes. Just gotta watch out for the aggro-resets.
Solo'd this guy last night on 84 Prot pally using Seal of Insight for self heals then when he enrages just used Word of Glory on myself a few times, easy kill took about 5mins to solo and nice 512g loot & 2 lvl 70 BoEs!
Has anyone seen him since 4.06?
I was wondering if it was possible for a lvl 74 prot pally to kill this thing because im saving up for my artisan riding and i hear he drops a lot of gold and i was wondering if i could kill him or if i should just stick to farming thorium.
Just soloed as 85 shadow priest in mostly 359 gear. Took about 3 minutes, was a joke. Not bad for 500g and some BOE epics to try selling on the AH.
Just solo'ed as an 85 discipline priest. Smite healing keeps you 100% topped off until he enrages at 20% (doing double damage). Just toss a heal on yourself periodically and watch your mana. Save shadowfiend for <20% and you should be fine. I was all in 359 purples.
Was flying around Outlands looking for rare elites on my Huntard. Anyway, just tamed a Netherskate then saw Doomwalker. Didn't even pay attention to his HP, went in and started firing. Misdirected, to the little 82 Netherskate, constantly and took him down no prob. Got 2 epics and linked'em in guild chat. Everyone was like, "You SoB, I try to get that guy all the time". They also said, "That was some easy gold for ya, wasn't it". I hadn't paid attention to any gold that had dropped, scrolled back up in the log and saw I had received 491g. I was pretty happy about this, seeings how I never even heard of anyone going for him specifically, until after I killed him.
Does anyone know how much money he drops now with the patch nerf to money droped by doomwalker/kara/gruul/flame lev ... ect..ect?
Doomwalker use to drop around 500g before patch 4.1 but since then the drop is still 2 epics but only 49g.
Soloed fairly easily as a level 80 feral druid tank. (And I mean literally solo). Had to use frenzied regeneration once.
IMPORTANT: This guy now drops 50 gold and 46 silver. I was severely disappointed.
as ov 4.2 is this guy still in game? and wuts with his spawn rate? is a weekly guaranteed or no? -thnx
Solo'd this at 85 on my rogue, really easy. All the damage he does it pretty much evened out by recuperate, just keep up recuperate and it will be easy. The only thing is that he has a lot of health so you can't 1 shot him.
Thanks to the transmog change coming in 4.3, some of this guy's loot is suddenly commanding premium prices on the AH. In particular,
seem in demand. The chest piece does share the skin with
but you need to run MC for that one. Looks like Doomwalker farming will be on the rise.
This guy is still a nice money maker after Cata, as mentioned above. Whatever doesn't sell for transmogrify sells as twink items. I have killed him solo twice on my rogue (never came close to dying), and all 4 item drops have sold quickly for 500-2k gold each.
If you don't need money quick, you may want to hold on to some of the more popular items and sell them right when transmog hits.
Wrong series, Optimus.
Also, interesting enough, he has an emotedance animation. I guess this is what Chuck Norris taught him before he got bored of it.
Note: if you die, DO NOT go back to the area for 15 minutes! I was fighting this guy and had him about 50% dead when I got ganked by a rogue and hunter from the opposite faction. Since the GY is right next to the area, I was able to rez right away, and I figured I would go hit them back and use the big guy to help me down them. Well, the "Mark of Death" debuff you get if you die while fighting him INSTANTLY kills you if you get too close to him.
Just killed him a minute ago and he didnt drop anything for me? They removed the loot?
I soloed this guy on my 85 feral druid who is in mostly blues but some purple. I have about 137k health in bear form and I never went below 100k. He dropped 52g 54s 93c and i also got
x2 :( I was hopping for the axe
I had first tried this guy with my 85 lock in demon spec but my lock is in mostly green gear (not even 100k health) so he got me, but i got him down to about 1/3 of his health before he finished off my Voidwalker and then me.
I just soloed him as Arms, i didnt have my gear for fury on me and i didnt want to waste time incase someone else showed up. I dont recommend this if youre a warrior, he got me down to almost 6% by the time i killed him, had to pop all my cooldowns as well.
He dropped x2 Fathom Helms -.- , was hoping for the axe but maybe ill be luckier next time...
Despite the lowering of gold dropped, with transmogrification this boss is more profitable than ever before. Instead of getting 500 gold and a few hundred from selling the items on the AH, you can make upwards of 5000 gold on the items alone (specifically
) . This is one world boss to never pass up.
It's pretty unlikely you'll see this guy.
Kazzak is on farm but you might get lucky.
This guy on the other hand is on farm AND will be killed by any group hitting BT for transmogrification/rp stuff.
Think of it this way: You see
around occasionally but when is the last time you saw a
EDIT:Why the downrate? It's true.
hey can anyone help me i go to the spot where this nub is supposed to be and hes not there but kil jeean#$%^ is there the guy that summons the doomwalker
just found this guy's corpse.. QQ
This guy keeps bugging me, it's hilarious. He keeps saying things like, "Do not proceed. You will be eliminated." It's funny, he'd say that I was like WTF. I would look around and he wouldn't be near and I'm like, "O...k?"
mark of death use to such a pain back in the day of tbc... lol.
Anyone know what his respawn timer is? Ive been trying to kill this guy for a while now but can never seem to find him!
Ok so does he exist in game anymore cause for the 3rd week i've gotten on right when server go active and he is never there. Help
Solo'ed on a ilvl 389 fire mage. Popped hero + images and got him to about 20 percent before my images died.
I was wondering earlier if this guy still spawned, and I can confirm that he does. Killed both him and Kazzak at about 3 a.m. on 8/31/2012.
First time I read about the Ethereum Nexus-Reaver I flew over to the Black Temple to see if Doomwalker was up. There were about 3-4 other people in the vicinity (either chilling outside the raid, or waiting for Doomwalker). Anyway, as I approached the huge gate Doomwalker suddenly spawned 10 meters away from me, right in front of all of us. Luckily I managed to tag and down him, but no axe.
Anyways, I've been camping him for the past few weeks and have yet to see him up again. I haven't even seen his corpse. So I guess people are still camping him hardcore.
Had this on farm in wrath was looking through my banks wondering where these epic loots dropped i thought he was removed guess I'll have to murder the aj with all my Congress lol
Yes, he still spwns, downed 6/27/2013 at 11:15 am. 23 hrs. after restart. kael'thas server. dropped faceguard of the endless watch, and archaic charm of presence. I've downed him twice in one week before, both times dropping etherium-nexus reaver. sold both for a combined 43k.
After doing some reading up about Doomwalker and his spawn timer, I decided to start farming him for the Black-Iron Battlecloak. He spawned at roughly 1am on 13/09/2013 and then at 8pm that same day. I got both kills as no-one else was around, now I was wondering about the spawn timer and whether it has changed because from what wowwiki says, it's 2-4 days. Posters here have said 1-2 days but Doomwalker spawned 19 hours after the previous kill for me.
Spent all Monday afternoon, all of Tuesday after maintenance,12am-2am and 10am-11:59pm on Wednesday and he never spawned. I am quite disappointed on this.It feels like i'm out farming the Time-lost Proto Drake. Really just about to give up on this guy. I thought it would be nice to farm for the axe to make some gold( selling for 30k on my server) but this doesn't seem like a good idea. The spawn time for him is just really bad, not to mention you have to tag him first with all these other people lurking around going to BT. Wouldn't recommend it from experience. The people below have been very very very lucky. Especially 19 hour spawn timer. That is ultra rare. All I can say is good luck if you are going to farm him, you will need it.
Merged server crap ruined these guys.
Note: If you're a warlock on the quest chain for green fire, you cannot see any of the mobs in the Black Temple area, including the Doomwalker. Extremely irksome.
Scared the heck out of me tonight; I was in Shadowmoon Village, killing an ally hunter when I heard Doomwalker yell "Do not proceed. You will be eliminated." Kind of weird timing after just killing someone else, ha ha.
I hope that Blizz one day fixes the spawn rate to be like that of the Sha of Anger, I wouldn't mind if they scaled it to make it more fun, as there are still items on him players would farm for.
Has this guy been removed from the game? It's seeming never there any more, so it's either that, or farmed by ninjas.
I saw this guy three times in one night, killing him twice; it was a Friday between 6pm and 12am. I've since camped for several hours Saturday, Sunday, now Monday and I haven't seen a glimpse of him.
First loot: Terrorweave Tunic/Talon of the Tempest
Second Loot: Talon of the Tempest x2
I'm not sure how the information about spawning Tues/Weds/Thurs at night could possibly be completely accurate. How could that be sufficiently verified? How could he have an initial spawn and also a 2-4 day respawn? He'd rotate days each week. I suppose he could spawn twice a week and then "reset" along with other weekly lockouts but that seems overly complex for a mob respawn.
If anyone has any experience killing him, let me know. I need to kill him one more time to validate all of this time I've spent chilling and realm hopping in Shadowmoon.
I managed to kill him 3 times from 7pm to 9pm tonight (Wednesday) jumping servers like a mad man.
I looted: 1 ethereum nexus reaver
1 faceguard of the endless watch
1 archaic charm of presence
3 black iron battle cloak
Doomwalker is one of my favorite bosses from BC, and even if his toolkit is simple, he's definitely scary. With the Legion's return, it would be cool if Doomwalker made a come back, but not as a Lootreaver. I'd like to see the reputation remain in tact.
He just spawned on Stormreaver and was INSTANTLY killed.
Seems like you're never gonna see this guy unless you get your tent and go camping.
For anyone looking to get the Fel Piston Stabilizer; the satyrs on the ground near where he spawns will also drop it.
I don't know if this will last or what, but I was able to get it very quickly without even killing Doomwalker.
It looks like this isn't as hard to get as it seemed.
The Fel Piston Stabilizer, necessary for Reaves' Piloted Combat Mode module, also drops off the Shadowhoof Summoners near the Illidari Dreadlord just west of Doomwalker's spawn point. They respawn fairly quickly, so instead of wasting your time camping just kill one of these guys.
engs are probably never going to see him thankfully the mobs also drop his part
Where the fk is he?
He still spawns, Killed him the first week of 7.1.5. He comes from the gate of Black Temple then sits near the entrence. If you're not finding him, it's most likely because he's being camped by several toons from other servers. GL.
is one of two Outland World Bosses the other being
Spawns (as of 7.3.2).
Spawns multiple times a week (as of 7.3.2).
Can drop the same item twice (as of 7.3.2).
Re-spawns on a 2 hour timer (as of 7.3.2).
*All gear (excluding necklace) are unique Transmogs except the following:
which shares an appearance with a item of a different type:

**Can't Multi-tag (as of 7.3.2).
Prior to 7.3 I found the Outland world bossed (
) to spawn diffrently then they now do. I believe that the code that is in charge of their spawns and respawns was changed. This was most probably due to
being in a heavily trafficked area: outside of Black Temple. If this is true pre-7.3 spawn/respawn data would be wrong.
*confirmed using in-game collection.
are all unique appearances.
**confirmed using 3 toons. a 110 solo and a 110 and 70 in a group. The 70 hit first then the solo 110 tagged then the grouped 110 killed. The two items went out for roll in the group and the solo 110 received nothing.
P.S. If this was helpful please upvote.
P.P.S. Current Legion Data for both
is available upon request. It is not public as people seemed to think that I was bragging by listing it here.
Appears since last couple of Wednesday restarts his and Kazzaks timers did decrease but seems now they have gone back up a few hours at least. Not as long as originally but longer than the 6-8 hour respawns.
Also seems constantly camped probably something to do with youtube etc but my advice for anyone wanting Transmog just buy it from the AH as prices are well cheap now and I got my axe for only 55k last week. The amount of time sat waiting for a spawn only to have 6 others trying to get the same spawn you could make 10 times the amount of gold just doing normal Legion stuff. The Life Staff for my priest is getting cheaper per day so will buy that soon too.
Been killing Doomwalker on average 3 times daily, from what I've seen, he respawns under 4 hours, I have yet to see him go over 4 hours for respawn, shortest is 2 hours, and the usual respawn ive seen is is about 2 hours 45 minutes to 3 hours. very rarely does he respawn 4 hours, and very few times have i seen him respawn in 2 hours. He 100% drops 2 pieces of gear everytime, those 2 pieces can be the same item.
Didn't know of this NPC until I went to do Destiny Unfulfilled and it was standing in front of the gates that I needed to get to. It dropped both of the only good drops: Talon of the Tempest and Fathom-Helm of the Deeps :D
if you're looking for fel piston stabilizer for the engineering reaves module: piloted combat mode, the adds surrounding him drop it as well, you don't have to wait for him to spawn.
can confirm multi loot by every1 who hit it
Patch 8.0 - Just killed Doomwalker on US-Stormreaver (Warmode off) on 7/23/18 at 6:07am EST
Dropped Terrorweave Tunic and Fathom-Helm of the Deeps
Camped with a friend for 7 hours and a few minutes straight, we didn't encounter a single spawn during that time. This was the day after server reset, with Warmode turned OFF.
Is this guy phased or bugged? I can't manage to find him... I thought they increased his spawn rate months ago.
Edit: Finally found him for the first time, they really must have nerfed his spawn rate back to around something like 30+ hours - how it was originally.
Solo'd him with ease on my 90 Blood DK. Just took a while to chew through his health pool.
drops from the Shadowhoof Summoners around the area too
the adds near spawn location drop the
Fel Piston Stabilizer
Got mine on 1st kill.
I haven't seen Doomwalker since before the Shadowlands pre-patch, it's been about 7 months of daily casual camping on multiple characters, has anyone managed to see/kill him since then? Wondering if he might actually be bugged at this rate or if I'm just having a spot of bad luck. Previously I'd usually get at least one kill every couple of months.
Edit: Today 2/26/2021 I finally got another Doomwalker kill! Don't give up hope y'all!
I have a character with the
parked in front of the spawn point specifically to farm Doomwalker. With your hearthstone set to Orgrimmar or Stormwind, you can farm this in both war mode on and off simultaneously with almost no wait.
Simply log in, check for spawn (or kill spawn and loot, yay!) hearth to capital, toggle your Warmode status, use the
teleporting you back to the foot of the temple, then travel the short distance back to the boss from where you port in. If you're lucky, Doomwalker will be up in both WM on and WM off and you can kill and loot. I have done this several times, within minutes, and yes it does drop loot both times. Happy hunting!
