The absolute best strategy to defeat all pets,
if you don't have a large roster or are new to pet battles
, is to use an entire team of level one pets, as these pet world quests scale with your pet's level. When the pet is scaled to your level at level one, it loses most of its abilities and difficulty.

An odd setup, but using level 1 Leyline Broodling, then bringing in Lil' Siege Tower, and finishing with Tinytron worked each time.

NOTE: The third enemy pet has the Moth Balls ability, and that
will
introduce RNG. Maybe it's easy because all 4 miss. Maybe you lose because all 4 hit. Runehoof also has a 25% stun, and a 50% trample. Lots of RNG. So far, the dragon trio seems most consistent.

Cogblade Raptor (I used B/B): 1/1/2
Darkmoon Tonk: 1/1/2
Sunreaver Micro-Sentry: 1/x/2

Bite til Slugger has 1 turn left on his poison skin. Then Overtune
Overtune
Bite. Slugger should be dead, Cogblade should still have revive.
Some combination of Overtune and Bite. The goal is to get Runehoof 1757 health or less.
Shock and Awe (if the stun lands on Runehoof, you are probably losing)
Ion Cannon. Runehoof dies. If you are really lucky, the moth will use both Moth Balls and Strike on your tank
Supercharge

The goal is to get Howl to land on Runehoof and then Bad Wolf dies, leaving the howl debuff for Runt. For me, this was 1 claw, then howl, then pass.
Bring in Runt, Call Lightning. If you are stunned, it's game over. Call should do ~2500.
Swarm of Flies, and then Zap if able.

I found Xu-fu to be superior to the Zandalari raptors for the first pet. 2/1/2 setup. Turn order is Bite, Prowl, Feed. Was able to kill it while also healing him to full.

This is what worked for me:
Anubisath Idol: 1,1,1
Crow: 2,2,2
Nexus Whelpling: *,2,2
1. Sandstorm -> Crush -> Deflection, repeat until Slugger dies.
2. Repeat the same rotation until Anubisath dies. Deflection is pretty useless, doesn't really matter what you use it on.
3. Call Darkness -> Nocturnal Strike -> Alpha Strike.
4. Arcane Storm > Mana Surge.

These pet stats are getting absurd. Getting the full team of 25 of each family on them is going to break my sanity

Tweaking others' strategies until I got something that worked:
Xu-Fu (2/1/2) Bite, Prowl, Feed. Slugger dies, Xu-Fu back to full health. Keep biting until Xu-Fu dies.
Ashwing Moth (P/S, in case it matters; 1/2/2) Moth Dust, Cocoon Strike, Alpha Strike, repeat. Died with ~200HP left on Runehoof; I reckon I wouldn't have if it hadn't managed to land a stun.
Nexus Whelpling (P/P, 1/2/2) Tail Sweep if necessary (Runehoof dies), Arcane Storm, Mana Surge.

Starting to test out strats for the Family Exorcist achieve. Will post more when I work through them.
Dragons:
Chrominius 1/1/1
Thunderscale Whelpling 2/1/2
Nexus Whelpling x/2/2 (I used P/S breed)
Chrom: Howl, Pass, Ravage. This will kill first pet. Doesn't matter what you do when the next pet comes out, because it'll finish off Chrom.
Thunderscale: Call Lightning, Ancient Blessing, Zap until enemy pet dies (I got two in). When the next pet comes in, it'll likely kill Thunderscale, depending on how many times Mothballs hits. Zap if you can.
Nexus: Arcane Storm, Mana Surge.

If Duster is going to cast Moth Balls this round, Spiritfire Bolt, otherwise Spirit Spikes
Spiritfire Bolt until Duster dies.
You want to time Spirit Spikes so you cast it the round before Duster is going to cast Moth Balls as he is faster than you.
A bit of RNG with Runehoof, sometimes he doesn't cast Horn Attack at all and other times he casts it off cooldown every time.

Edit: Fixed up Darkmoon Rabbit abilities, thanks vesera11.
I guess this has too much RNG. Something I didn't realise until some of the achievements triggered is you only need to do 9 out of the 11 tamers so you can skip some of the really hard RNG fights.

I got lucky with Moth Balls missing a bit but Runehoof stunned me with Horn Attack as well. There is a lot of RNG to this fight no matter what pets are used due to Runehoof appearing to be completely random in what abilities he uses. Moth Balls with a 50% hit chance also creates a lot of RNG.

I have not successfully won with this strat but theoretically it should work if everything aligns.
Lightless ambusher - 2/1/1
Purple Puffer p/p - 2/x/2
Ghostshell Crab - 1/2/1
Pump
Prowl
Pump - If you are under 700hp, reset. Slugger's Burrow has a wide damage range.

Switch in Purple Puffer

Switch in Ghostshell Crab

Spirit Claw
I got to Duster a number of times. If Moth Balls had hit Spirit Spikes 3 times I would have won. But the most it ever hit was 2.
And then I hit a massive drought where Slugger's Burrow hit me for the max damage range or Runehoof stunned/interrupted me so I just couldn't get a 3rd round in on Runehoof. I'm talking 40+ goes and I finally ran out of bandages.
I hope whoever designed Runehoof steps on lego every day for the rest of their life. This fight is without a doubt the most frustrating I have ever faced in the history of wow. Legion has some bad RNG fights but at least the mobs were consistent. Runehoof is just a massive RNG Stun/interrupt cluster@#$% and that's not taking crits into account.
Hopefully you have better luck than I or at least this strat helps you come up with one that isn't just based on a theory. Lightless Ambusher is a good opener regardless. Even if you just do Rush for the first 2 rounds of Runehoof. He kills Slugger and leaves Runehoof with 1760 hp. I tried Hydraling instead of Puffer but he can't quite finish him off. You really need a pet alive to soak the first Moth Balls on Duster and then pray Predatory Strikes doesn't crit. At one point I got to Duster 3 times over around 30 attempts and he crit me with predatory strike every time.

A few strats getting voted down. Fair enough if they are terrible but this fight has a lot of RNG, some of the families it's very hard to get a strategy that will consistently win. Runehoof is just ridiculous with RNG. And then Moth Balls ends up being 50/50 if it will slaugher you or not.

Aquatic Apparations strategy. Mind Glitterdust has 2 rng pets so you may have to give it a few tries.
Pets:
Bloodseeker
,
Violet Abyssal Eel
,
Ghostshell Crab
.
1) Bloodfang
2) Bubble
3) Dive
4) Bloodfang
5) Switch to Violet Abyssal Eel
6) As Runehoof has two abilities that may or may not stun you / trample you, you may have to try this a few times. What you want to do is: "whirpool, tail slap, life exchange, tailslap, whirpool" and abysal eel dies. you may not be able to complete all of this, but if you can't get to "use life exchange", try again.
7) Switch to Bloodseeker. If Runehood has less than 450 HP use Bloodfang. If Runehood has less more than 450 HP use Dive+ Bloodfang
8) Against Duster, try to Dive, Bubble, Bloodfang as long as you can and proceed.
9) With Ghostshell Crab you want to have Spirit Spikes up for moth balls, so plan accordingly. Ideal time to use it is when mothballs has 1 round cd and Predatory Strike has 3 round cd. Use it and pray he hits you with mothballs 3 times.
9) Bubble up and finish with moonclaw-

Ladies and gnomes, I present to you, the absolute best team EVER for beating this guy.
Use level 1 pets!
I've fought this moth a total of 6 times and won every single time with this team, often by leagues.
Pet 1: Leyline Broodling - Rend
Pet 2: Deweaponized Mechanical Companion - Metal Fist
Pet 3: Netherspawn, Spawn of Netherspawn - Netherblast
EDIT: My Netherspawn hit lvl 2 so I had to swap him out. I am now using Sunreaver Micro-Sentry as my last pet which has the added bonus of reviving once after a death and still doing super effective damage to the last pet. It's probably an even better match-up than Netherspawn, Spawn of Netherspawn. I still have a 100% win ratio with this team.
You will absolutely stomp this NPC every fight. I have a 100% win ratio using this team.
Specifically Pet 2's mech rebirth makes this impossible to lose. Same with Netherspawn's increasing and super effective damage with each attack.
Try and have as high as possible speed. My level 1's were really slow but I still win every time. If you're able to get off the first hit, it'll be even easier.

Just a reminder for everyone, all pet world quests scale to the lvl of pets you use. So using all lvl 1 pets will make this fight significantly easier, although you still need to try and choose pets that will have an advantage.

Bonkers got dodge which eliminates op burrow from the equation, bite which is strong against critter, like also his humanoid type protects him well against scratch spam.
Ikky - there might be better picks, but this one worked for me.
Dream Whelpling is resistant to flying, got dmg reduction per attack and magic damaging ability -
all you need to beat Duster without worrying about RNG.
Bonkers:
Bite
Dodge
Bite
(...)
As you get to the Runehoof be sure to use dodge when it comes off cd, so he wastes his headbutt stun on your bonkers. Otherwise Ikky is going to die.
Ikky
is pretty straight forward, claw and flock.
Dream Whelpling

Critters team for
小动物的大步伐
:
Frostfur rat 1-2-2 (pref. the one with the lowest speed you have in your collection)
Blind rat 1-2-2 (same thing)
Nether roach 2-2-2 (having more than 317 speed to get faster than the butterfly once it goes below 50% hp)
Personally I went for a P/P Frostfur rat, H/P Blind rat and S/S Nether roach.
Frostfur rat casts "Call darkness" then "Refuge".
Switch to your Roach and cast "Apocalypse".
Switch to your Blind rat and cast "Call darkness".
Switch again (!) to your Frostfur rat, skip one turn then cast "Refuge" and kill using "Sneak attack" (as Beace stated in comments, a speed breed rat should hit with "Call darkness" but I don't recommend such breeds).
2nd opponent arrives, switch back to the Blind rat and cast "Lullaby" then "Call darkness".
3rd opponent takes his place, cast "Sneak attack" as much as you can, anyway your Blind rat would die pretty soon.
Switch back to your Roach and kill that butterfly spamming "Nether blast".
Now it is all about having Apocalypse hit
while your Roach is still alive
. Switch back to Frostfur rat and sacrifice him facing Runehoof coming back in order to buy some time and have your roach survive, so Apocalypse would hit when it's supposed to. In case that's not enough, make use of your Roach "Survival" spell.
Upvotes / comments appreciated ^_^
Edit :
To be nice to people having issues here, I tried it a third time just to share details about that fight (sigh) but people still go for other breeds and / or claim it still doesn't work... Sooo, here is how my 3rd test went :
Call darkness - Refuge - Switch to Roach - Apocalypse - Switch to Blind rat - Call darkness - Switch to Frostfur rat - skip turn - Refuge - Sneak attack ---> Critter dies.
Switch to Blind rat - Lullaby - Call darkness - Sneak attack ---> no luck on that one as Blind rat died on Moth Balls, it could hit the butterfly with Sneak attack on my 2 first tests but it's still alright.
Roach comes in - Nether blast 4 times ---> Butterfly dies.
Switch back to Frostfur rat - Apocalypse hits while my Roach stays alive in the back row.
** Optional : In case that didn't work out after a couple of attempts **
Strategy may need to be adapted with different breeds
, just keep in mind your Roach has to survive on the turn Apocalypse hits, killing Runehoof. It's not about severe RNG or anything but watching how the fight goes and adapting to it, depending on critical hits and breeds you're going for : I hope people don't expect me to test and post a different detailed and reliable strategy for every combination of breeds someone would go for...
In the end, feels odd to see people downvoting or read so many comments claiming there would be some huge RNG or that strategy would not work out over dozens of attempts. I expected people to be grateful as I got 100% winrate over three attempts, including one I made on request to post details about each turn of that fight. Guys, less complaining and more cheering to fellow people taking from their time to help out for free, suggesting reliable strategies (at least from my experience here) involving commonly found battle pets and even answering to comments and questions from people who experienced issues duplicating it.
Writing battle pets strategies in a foreign language is not the funniest thing to do out of my time off and doesn't grant me anything either... Beside, I have to look for accurate English names for battle pets and spells each time I got a strategy to share, as English is not anyone's native language. Please keep in mind the more you cheer or thank people, the more they would keep on sharing ;-)

After many unsuccessful attempts to beat these with elementals for
幽虚元素
, I eventually gave up and went for that lame team :
Fozling 1-2-2
Broot 2-2-2
Singing sunflower 2-1-2
Fozling casts "Crush" then his other two spells, Broot and sunflower cast "Photosynthesis".
Fozling refreshes effects when needed and spams "Crush" to kill the 1st one, healing himself as a backline pet when needed which also allows your other pets to stack HP refreshing "Photosynthesis" and sometimes "Sunlight".
Go on like this and try to have Sunflower finishing 2nd opponent with a nasty "Solar beam" to speed things up a little.
Broot should face the remaining opponent as "Ironbark" is quite nice to avoid damage.
It went on for 37 turns (!) but haven't found a faster team.

Glitterdust is located at:
/way #1565 58.23 56.91 Glitterdust
Note before starting:
I tried my very best to not include store bought pets, TCG pets, pets that you have to get a specific breed, and very hard to get pets. For a few fights I did have to use pets with a specific breed because I was spending hours trying to perfect a strat and it just wasn't working without a certain breed. Also, a lot of the Shadowlands fights don't have rigid movesets like previous expansions did. For a lot of these new fights, you have to be a bit more flexible. Use these strats as a guideline :) Please feel free to send me a message in-game at Gabrielle-Whisperwind. I do not usually check the comments because I have *literally* thousands of posts and I will most definitely miss a question, or any suggestions on tweaking a strat.
The rest of the strats you can find here:
Family Exorcist
Addons I definitely recommend:
Battle Pet BreedID
- helps you determine which breed your pet is!
Rematch
- changes the Pet Journal UI and adds SO much for you for sorting, adds a leveling pet queue, etc. There's seriously a lot. My favorite is that it lets you save teams!
PetTracker
- Shows you the cooldowns of the enemy team. VERY IMPORTANT. Also shows you trainers on your map. For some reason not all of them are listed in the basic WoW UI.
One thing to point out about this trainer is that Runehoof's spells are random and Duster's Moth Balls hitting is random. It's impossible to know what's going to happen so these are -not- going to be perfect.
Aquatic Apparitions
I don't recommend aquatic for this fight.
Beast Busters

second turn burrow should kill first pet
Thrash
Howl

Swap in Tiny Twister
Call Lightning
Wild Winds
second pet should die to wild winds
Flyby

Swap in Crimson Geode

This requires a fair amount of good rng. I was able to do it with this strat twice in a row but any crits or a stun proc from the second pet could throw things off.

This is the easiest combo I've found:
Teroclaw Hatchling: 1,1, 2
Darkmoon Zeppelin: 1, 1, 2
Nexus Whelpling: 2, 2, 2
Start with Teroclaw Hatchling:
On Slugger, use Claw, Dodge, Claw, then Ravage for the kill.
When Runehoof comes in, we're going use dodge on CD and Claw until Teroclaw dies. I aim to get two Claws in before dying.
Darkmoon Zepp comes in
Use Decoy, Bombing run, then Missile. (If your Zepp dies prematurely, just use Nexus' breath to finish Runehoof off.)
When Duster comes in, I just use bombing run for the lolz and Missile until final death. You can swap out to Nexus if you want.
Nexus Whelping comes in next. Arcane storm, Mana Surge and it's a GG.
Hope this helps!

Baby Stonehide

G0-R41-0N Ultratonk
should kill both the 2nd and 3rd pets. If not, clean up with:
Fragment of Anger
Both the Ultratonk and Fragment of Anger will have respawns, giving you one extra attack upon the fight. I haven't needed the Fragment of Anger, since Ultratonk does massive damage to the second fight - 94 damage each strike, killing the second pet in 2 hits, and then cleans up the 3rd pet.

It took me a few tries because of RNG, but the strategy that worked for me was:
Argi - 2, 1, 2 - Horn Gore, Gift of the Naaru, Headbutt.
Malfunctioning Microbot (B/B) - 2, 1, 2 - Alert!, Haywire, Explode.
Chrominius - 1, 1, 2 - Bite, Howl, Surge of Power.
At the start of the fight Gitterdust sends out Slugger. Start yourself with Argi.
Round 1 - Slugger uses Toxic Skin, Use Headbutt.
Round 2 - Slugger will use Burrow, use Horn Gore or pass.
Round 3 - Slugger hits, use Gift of the Naaru. This should get up almost up to full again.
Round 4 - Slugger uses Scratch, use Horn Gore.
Round 5 - Slugger uses Scratch, use Horn Gore. (If Argi goes down before this point, restart the battle.) Slugger should go down as well as Argi due to the toxin.
Round 6 - Glitterdust brings out Runehoof, you bring out Malfunctioning Microbot. Runehoof will use his abilities at random.
Round 7 - Haywire.
Round 8 - Alert!
Round 9 - If you've lost your Microbot before now, start over. If not, Runehoof should knock him out this turn and you'll return due to your ability. Make sure you chose Explode. This should bring Runehoof down. If Runehoof has more than 600 HP on this turn, it will not kill him. Start over.
Round 10 - Glitterwing brings out Duster, you'll bring out Chrominius.
Round 11 - Duster will use either Moth Balls or Predatory Strike. Use Howl.
Round 12 - Duster will use either Moth Balls or Predatory Strike. Use Surge of Power.
Easy win.
If at any point you do have Argi survive Slugger and he does face off against Runehoof and is able to stun him with his Headbutt, Glitterdust will bring out Duster and the fight has been lost. Every time this has happened, I lost the battle.
I hope this helps others who are struggling. As I said, this fight is very RNG heavy so no matter what team you use, it may take you a few tries. Good luck all!

Lil' Bad Wolf (1,2,1)
Anubisath Idol (2,2,1)
Chrominius (2,1,2)
Lil' Bad Wolf just spam Claw and Dodge until you get to the second pet then use howl and switch pets to Idol.
Idol use Demolish, Stoneskin, then spam Demolish.Should be able to get an attack in on the last pet unless unlucky with stun.
Chrominius use Howl then Surge of Power which should win the fight there.

This setup got me past Runehoof's random stun. It works perfectly if Runehoof kills Iron Starlette after "Supercharge" prior to second "Wind-Up"
Argi 1/1/2
Iron Starlette 1/1/1
Chrominius 2/1/2
ENTER Argi - Headbutt, Gnaw (it will miss!), Gift of the Naaru, Gnaw, Gnaw, Gnaw (Argi dies, Slugger should be ~300hp)
ENTER Iron Starlette - Powerball (if Slugger dies, you'll need to pass when Runehoof comes in, if not Powerball a second time!)
ENTER Runehoof - PASS (if Slugger died on first Powerball), Wind-Up, Supercharge, Wind-Up.
Runehoof dies.
ENTER Duster - Iron Starlette dies on first attack.
ENTER Chrominius - Howl, Surge of Power. D
Duster dies.
You win!
I had one bad outcome when Slugger crit Argi for over 1000hp. Otherwise 14/15!
Let me know in the comments if this worked as well as it performed for me. Thank you!

I completed it after a few tries with Sprite Darter Hatchling, Chrominius, and Emerald Proto-Whelp.
SDH 2,2,1
CHR 1,1,2
EPW 2,1,1
Start out with SDH and Arcane Blast then Moonfire when Slugger dives then just AB until he's dead. You might or might not kill him before your SDH dies. It's fine. Chrominius will finish him off with one Bite then a Bite to Runehoof followed by Howl then Surge of Power. Runehoof will finish you off. It's fine. Runehoof will be so low on health that EPW will one-shot him with Emerald Bite. Then it's just a question of healing yourself if you need and Emerald Biting Duster until he's dead.

For

the other strats here used too much RNG. Here is how I beat
烁光之尘
, which required some luck (Runehoof stunned my second pet, but Duster missed several shots on my third):
碎片
1/1/X
塞泰之子
1/2/1
欲望残片
1/X/2 (you may have better luck with Spiritfire Bolt than Arcane Blast)
1. Claw
2. (Pass)
3. Superbark
4. Claw, Slugger dies, Scraps has low health
5. Claw, Runehoof kills Scraps
6. Undead round - Claw, Scraps dies, Son of Sethe enters
7. Touch of Animus
8. Drain Blood
9. Absorb until Runehoof kills SoS
10. Undead round - Absorb, SoS dies, Fragment of Desire enters, Runehoof has low health
11. Arcane Blast, Runehoof dies
12. Soul Rush
13 Arcane Blast until Duster dies
This worked for me on the first try, although my Fragment was on the Undead round when I won.

Hi Everybody! I wanted to post something for anyone who either doesn't have a lot of pets, or like me didn't have the right pets to make the previous suggestions work. I very nearly gave up on this one. I'm sure that the other suggestions are great, but I didn't have the right pets for any of the combos at the right levels.
So first off, its VERY important to keep in mind that these battles scale to the level of the highest pet you have. That's important because it means the lower the level of your pets, the less life they'll have and also - THEY KNOW LESS MOVES.
So I made sure all of my pets were level 1. That scaled the health of the enemy team down to nothing; and took away all those moves that make them so hard to beat - like the gorm's toxic skin in the beginning. After that, I kept in mind my type advantages (just like another popular game I love lol). Also, try to keep in mind any special advantages like bleed that might give you more of an edge with each move. I had plenty of life left on all my pets, so I think I could have won just at this point; but I'll tell you the pets I had just in case you have them too or knowing might help somehow.
For my beast, I used the Muskflank Calfling with its move "Trample". It did double damage because of type advantage, plus it does an additional 10% of the enemy pet's health. I beat the gorm and just kept hitting on the runestag till it killed my calfling. Then I switched to Microbot XD with "Alert!". That finished off the runestag and into the moth.
After the moth killed my robot, I switched to Bronze Whelpling. This has a reverse type advantage in that being a dragon it takes half damage from flying attacks. But this is where it is important to keep in mind that advantages are about move types, not creature types. Bronze Whelpling's first move is "Arcane Slash", a magic type move that does 28 damage base, or 40 if the user attacks first. So while the dragon itself took half damage from the flying moth, its own attack did double damage because flyers are weak to magic attacks. That ended the fight.
I really hope this helps some people. I apologize if the extra details seem condescending, that isn't my intent. It just took me a long time to learn a lot of this stuff, like the reverse advantages, and even knowing I still almost quit because of how long it took me to figure out how to use all of it to my advantage in this situation. Good luck everybody, and happy adventures!

Only tried twice, but won both times. Not sure if breed stats matter.
Cub v Slugger: Maul, Pass, Rebuild, Bite, Maul Slugger & it should be dead. You should get one or two bites on Runehoof before Cub dies.
Bot v Runehoof: Haywire, Decoy (or vice versa depending where Runehoof is with Headbutt on CD) Alert x2 & Runehoof dies. Haywire & Bot dies.
Sentry v Duster: Extra Plating, Supercharge, Laser x3 & Duster dies.

This fight has RNG mainly on Runehoof (2nd round). He can stun you and that made me restart a couple of times. This line up may not work first try but it will work. I am in the process of building my team so I am leveling up my level 1's with upgrade tokens with recommendations on some of these battles.
My line up
奥妮克希亚的雏龙
钢铁星弹
风裔龙宝宝
Start with
吐息
and when Slugger
钻地
on second round
离地升空
and his best move will miss.
吐息
again then
愈体之焰
one more
吐息
and Runehoof will enter the ring. He is hard, and he stumped me a few times. Squeeze in
离地升空
or
吐息
if you can, he might stun you first round but at least one lick won't hurt. In comes
钢铁星弹
, (I snagged this strategy from someone's post and it works flawlessly) start with
旋紧发条
then
增压
finish him with
旋紧发条
. No matter was happens in the fight (stuns may occur) get that finishing move right and you will move onto third round. Duster is cake with any whelping that has two very important spells:
法力澎湃
and
奥术风暴
.
风裔龙宝宝
was a pet that was level 1 in my journal that I boosted up specifically for this fight (and it was the coolest looking of all the whelpings I have). This strategy I also cannot take credit for but it's a very simple fight start with
奥术风暴
and
法力澎湃
and Duster falls.
I did enjoy cracking Slugger with the pets I have leveled to 25, I think I tried every pet until I remembered Spawn of Onyxia has Lift-off which combats the only powerful move Slugger has. Good luck!

This tactic works great but still a bit RNG
name/hp/attack/speed/powers
Anubisath Idol
- 1725/276/244 - crush,sandstorm,deflection
Gilnean Raven
- 1481/244/309 - peck, call of darkness, nocturnal strike
Chrominius
- 1644/276/260 - bite, howl, surge of power
Anubisath Idol
- sandstorm
- crush
- deflection
- crush till u kill it (if you miss once this tactic will not work)
- after u kill a 1 enemy pet, continue using crush and sandstorm on CD till your pet die.
Gilnean Raven
- call of darkness
- nocturnal strike
- peck till you kill it or your pet die based on RNG
Chrominius
- if raven died before second enemy pet is death, finish enemy pet with bite
- new enemy pet
- howl
- surge of power
Old comment:
This fight metod is total RNG thanks to demolish, which is powerfull attack but 50% to hit. I was lucky and hit all times so i was able to vaporate first two pets.
Nearly soled with Anubisath Idol - 1725/276/244 hp/attack/speed
Rotate till pet die, if you do not miss you will kill two pets then just finish last pet with whatever you want:
Demolish

For

For Aquatic, I was able to kill the first pet with Bloodseeker. Bloodfang > Bubble > Dive > Bloodfang.
Then I was able to swap to Hydraling and did Shell Armor > Call Lightning > Tail Slap and Ruinhoof was usually around 645hp.
At this point, my strat falls apart and maybe someone can come up with a solution. At this point, I was bringing back in Bloodseeker and hitting Dive, which would finish off Ruinhood *sometimes*. If Bloodseeker got stunned, it was a wash.
I then hit Bubble when Duster came in, but had no good solution for it. I tried Voidskimmer once. After I put Bubble up on Bloodseeker, I brought in Voidskimmer, hit Void Tremors and Whirlpool > dead Voidskimmer. Bloodseeker came back in with a Bubble, hit Dive and I died with Duster at 28hp. I just couldn't get Duster down after that and his abilities are very RNG.
Maybe this is a good starting point for someone to finish up. Good luck!

Have had difficulties on this one with the RNG, and also not having the recommended pets listed in almost ALL the strats posted. So instead I tried the strat of using all lvl1 pets in the category I am working on. Because this took away the stronger attacks of her pets, I finally won against her. So I recommend trying this strat with her. All lvl1 pets worked.

I completed this fight with:
Waterfly (1/2/1)
Ikky (1/1/1)
Shadowbarb Hatchling (1/2/1)
I dunno much about pet breeds so I can't comment on them.
Waterfly: Barbed Stinger (I was lucky enough to get the poison hit), Puncture Wound, Lift-Off. Might need a follow-up attack to finish it off if you didn't get the Poison attack. Use whatever abilities you can to damage the 2nd boss.
Ikky: Black Claw, Flock. This killed the pet because of how much damage Waterfly was able to do, your mileage may vary. Use whatever abilities you can to damage the 3rd boss.
Shadowbarb Hatchling: Void Tremors, Shadow Talon, Shadow Talon.
There's RNG in this fight on both sides so your mileage may vary.

Based vaguely on
godnoble's strat
but I only had one of the three pets they suggested. With the understanding that I'd need to dodge Slugger's borrow and do *something* about Runehoof's hard hits, this is what I came up with. Not sure hot replicable it is, as I had a crit against Runehoof that turned the tide. YMMV, I make no guarantees, only providing another option for folks to try.
Sticky Oozeling
Uncommon H/B 2/1/1,
Muar
1/1/1,
Eldritch Manafiend
1/2/2
Moonfire
Phase Shift
Nether Blast x2
Moonfire
Nether Blast x2
Oozeling and Slugger die same round.
If they do not die same round, bring in Muar and use Onyx Bite til Slugger is dead.
Life Exchange
Drain Power
Onyx Bite x2
Muar dies.
Soulrush kills Runehoof
Arcane Blast until Surge of Power will finish off Duster
Surge of Power
I've tried a few times to replicate, and there's always something different, so be prepared to be flexible and restart a few times, espeically if your pet gets stunned at any point. Automatic restart. You might have an easier time with a rare Oozeling or H/P breed.

Accursed Hexxer (Chaos Beam, Drain Blood, Weakness)
Eldritch Manafiend (Arcane Blast, Surge of Power, Soulrush)
RNG matters, but there are a number of ways this could work out in your favor. How I did it...
v.
Leap
Pounce
Leap
Pounce
v. Runehoff
Leap
Black Claw
Sanctum Dies
Chaos Beam
Chaos Beam
Drain Blood
Weakness
Chaos Beam
v.
Weakness
Drain Blood
Accursed dies
Soulrush
Surge of Power
Tinker with it. You may need to start over if the critical strikes or stuns don't work in your favor, or you may have more paths to victory if they do work in your favor.

Undead Team
Soulbroken Whelpling (Spiritfire Bolt, x, Arcane Storm)
Captain Nibs (Smash, Roar, Barrel Toss)
Son of Sethe (Absorb, Touch of the Animus, Drain Blood)
This is super RNG dependent, so good luck. This is how it went down for me.
1. Bring in Whelpling to cast Arcane Storm (this helps prevent stuns for hopefully a lot of the second fight)
2. Swap in Captain Nibs
3. Barrel Toss
4. Roar
5. Barrel Toss
6. Smash and Nibs dies (if you're lucky, he can get in a hit or two on Runehoof, but that didn't happen for me)
7. Touch of the Animus
8. Drain Blood
9. Absorb
10. Absorb
11. Absorb
12. Drain Blood
13. Touch of Animus
14. Absorb and Runehoof Dies
15. Absorb on Duster and Son of Sethe dies first time
16. Drain Blood
17. Absorb and Son of Sethe finally dies
18. Soulbroken Whelpling comes in
19. Arcane Storm
20. Spitfire Bolt
21. Spitfire Bolt and Duster dies

Flickering flyers - a bit rng, still trying to find something consistent
Teroclaw hatchling 1,1, 2
Sentinals Companion 2,2,1
Start Claw
Then Dodge
Then claw until slugger is less than 400hp
Then Ravage
Runehoof comes in
Claw until your teroclaw dies
Bring in one of you sentinals companions
Soul Rush
Moonfire
Dark Talon until runehoof dies
Likely your Sentinals companion might die before you get to Duster
If you are lucky you might get a shot off
Bring in your last companion
Clean up Runehoof if that pet is still up with Dark Talon
On duster
Soulrush then Moonfire
Then Dark Talon until Duster dies
Still to rng, need a better start choice to get some decent damage on runehoof

Mummified Magics
I won this fight with:
Minfernal (1/2/1)
Enchanted Room (2/1/2)
Spectral Porcupette (2/2/2)
I dunno much about pet breeds, but all were rare.
This fight has a fair bit of RNG. You will need a few tries to get it.
Minfernal: Crush, Meteor Strike, Extra Plating, Crush, Crush, Crush. If the first pet does not die, Meteor Strike. Once the second pet is in combat against you, you'll probably die immediately. Once in a great while I managed to get a Meteor Strike off against it. But you're probably better off just passing and dying.
Enchanted Broom: Sandstorm, Wind-up, Wind-up. You'll probably die before you can get another attack off. If you were stunned previously, you may die before you can complete that set of 3 attacks. Again, you'll probably be better off dying after these 3 attacks than doing more damage.
Here's why dying is good: you want the Spectral Porcupette to have time to Powerball a few times against the second pet. You need Porcupette to have initiative when it goes up against the 3rd pet. If not, it'll nuke you down fast. Mine only had 200 health by the time it went into combat with the 3rd pet. That's okay.
Porcupette (who needs initiative): Spirit Spike, Spectral Spine, Powerball.
The amount of damage Spirit Spikes does will depend on how many times you get hit. You want to get hit enough that you do a ton of damage, but not so much you die. Spectral Spine blinds the enemy pet so that it misses the massive attack it makes on its 2nd turn. 50/50 chance of it missing -- g'luck! At this point the enemy pet should have almost no health left. Powerball should finish it off.
Your mileage may vary. As I said, there's RNG in this and your pet breeds may change how this works. G'luck!

Iron Starlette Powerball
(If Iron Starlette gets stunned off the bat when Runehoof spawns just restart. Happens 1/5times that i saw)

Beast Busters
I won this fight with:
Zandalari Kneebiter (1/2/1) <-- Note, not the typical combo for this pet
Zandalari Anklerender (2/1/2)
Vengeful Porcupette (2/1/1)
I dunno much about pet builds so I can't comment on that.
Note there is a fair bit of RNG in this fight, so you may need to take a few tries at it. Specifically, Runehoof has two stuns so getting stunned will cause you to fail.
Zandalari Kneebiter: Leap, Bite, Leap, Leap (Slugger dies). Black Claw (pet dies).
Zandalari Anklerender: Hunting Party. Leap. Leap (Runehoof dies). Black Claw (pet dies).
Vengeful Porcupette: Spirit Spikes. Flank. Flank (Duster dies).

My very terrible Humanoid-only team. Father Winter's Helper was even uncommon quality for this. I don't think breed matters here either.
Anubisath Idol H/H (1,1,1) , Father Winter's Helper B/B (2,1,1), and Kun-lai Runt P/P (2,2,2)
Open with Sandstorm>Crush>Deflect.
You'll need some decent RNG here, but you can clear Slugger with ~3-4 Crush.
Use Deflection to counter Burrow.
If all goes well, Slugger will die and Sandstorm will be off-CD (bonus points for deflection being off-CD too)
Deflect if you have it (in case Runehoof decides to use one of the stunners round1)
Sandstorm, then most likely Anubisath dies
Swap in FWH and use Ice Tomb>Blizzard>Ice Lance
With good RNG you'll be able to get an Ice Lance hit in on Duster
FWH dies
Kun-Lai Runt
Deep Freeze (will stun because of the blizzard)
From here I used Takedown twice, but you could also consider using Frost Shock and then Takedown.
Run killers would be Runehoof stuns and Duster multi-strike # of hits.

Just keep that rotation up and it may get dicey, but I was able to complete it the first try. If need be,

Haunted humanoid :
Kun-Lai runt : 1,1,1
Anubisath Idol : 2,1,1
Father Winter's Helper : 2,1,2
Bit RNG with Demolish, but if you land your attack on Runehoof it's an almost win. I was able to win on my second try.
Start with black claw, then pass, then demolish, Slugger should die on the third attack, second if you crit, then when the runt die, use the deflection when runehoof stun attack are up, use sandstrom, and finger crossed on demolish attack. after runehoof death, use gift of winter on duster, then blizzard and icelance until death.

A team I found worked pretty okay for Flickering Fliers:
Amberglow Stinger 1,2,1
Ikky 1,1,1
Sentinel's Companion 2,2,1
Strategy is simple. Fly is fast enough to let you Lift Off when first pet burrows and use Barbed Stinger the rest of the time. Ikky can clear the second pet with Black Claw/Flock as long as it's not stunned. Sentinel's Companion will Moonfire into Soulrush for stun chance, then Dark Talon to finish it off.
A tradeable easy raid drop combined with two quest pets, all with no variation of breeds. Try that.

This pet battle was terrible but I FINALLY beat him
Anubisath Idol: 1,1,1
Lil' Bling: 2, 2, 1
Chrominius: x, 1, 2
Open with Sandstorm, Deflect when Slugger burrows, fill with Crush. Runehoof is annoying, keep Sandstorm up, doesn't seem to matter when Deflect is used, keep using Crush till Anubisath dies.
Bring in Lil' Bling and use Extra Plating > Make it Rain > Inflation. Keep the same rotation going on Duster till Lil' Bling dies.
Bring in Chrominius and use Howl > Surge of Power.

I apologize. I did not take down my step by step actions. I'm hoping I remember this correctly.
1. Chrominius - 1,3,1 - This was enough to kill the Slugger. Chrominius did not get to attack since Runehoof went first. He was done. I will say that Slugger did not do his usual burrow into the ground, instead he put up armor.
2. Armored Vaultbot - Took one round of damage, but was able to launch on 3 Vault Drop, then 2 for Make it Rain, Continues with 1 until he dies but is mechanically revive enough to take out Runehoof after a four round cooldown, with one final 3 Vault Drop. Duster finishes him off.
3. Servant of Demidos. At first I messed up but it was for the best. 1, 1, Magic Sword. I was able to finish Duster off with 2 Clean-Up. My messing up was perfect. Servant of Demindos was only down to about 300 and I may have been able to last one more round.
This was the third team I was able to put up and I was trying to get the world quest done before the morning reset. I had earlier luck with the Anubisath Idol and Darkmoon Zeppelin against Slugger and the Duster. Runehoof is the hard one and does the most damage. I think if you keep in mind the burrowing tactic of Slugger on the first round and just prepare with all out high damage you can have him down in a few rounds. You need a high life and major damage pet for Runehoof. He was able to take out Iron Starlette in four rounds if not done correctly. It's just a matter of what of the multiple abilities you have. Duster was easy with magic pet.
Thank you everyone. As I've been using Wowhead more and more to build up my pet battle skills I find a lot of the information here is very useful even if I don't have a pet in some of the combinations that are listed.
I did use another source for this battle as well.
Effy J. Roan's Awaiting the Muse - Pet Battle Cheatsheet

Type/attack-type recommendations, incl best for level 1.
First pet (Slugger) - you want a
Humanoid
-type pet and/or
Beast
-type attacks. Best of both: Kun-Lai Runt, Lil' Bad Wolf, Stunted Yeti
2nd pet (Runehoof) - You want a
Flying
-type pet and/or
Mechanical
-type attacks. Best of both: None I can find. Recommend Mech w/Mech attacks (Iron Starlette, Sunblade Micro-Defender)
3rd pet (Duster) - you want a
Dragonkin
-type pet and/or
Magic
-type attacks. Best of both: Moon-Touched Netherwhelp, Bronze Whelping, Dream Whelpling, Sun Darter Hatchling

Here is a very slow, but very safe strategy for
Aquatic Apparitions
. The plan is to whittle down/kill the backline pets (Runehoof and Duster) as much as possible while keeping Slugger alive up front since Slugger is by far the easiest of the three to deal with.
Team:
Puddle Terror (PT)
Magical Crawdad (MC)
Slimy Eel (or whatever -- chances are good you do not need the 3rd pet at all)
Start with Pudde Terror. Moves:
1. Water Jet (You could go Nature's Ward here and add still more safety and still more pet swaps...)
2. Nature's Ward (PT)
3. Sunlight (PT)
4. Swap to Magical Crawdad (MC)
5. Wish (MC)
6. Renewing Mists (MC)
7. Swap to Puddle Terror
8. Nature's Ward (PT)
9. Sunlight (PT)
10. Swap to Magical Crawdad (MC)
11. Renewing Mists (MC)
12. Wish (MC)
13. Swap to Slimy Eel (A very conservative move, but ensured success is the plan here...)
14. Swap to Puddle Terror
15. Nature's Ward (PT)
16. Sunlight (PT)
17. Swap to Magical Crawdad (MC)
18. Wish (MC)
19. Renewing Mists (MC)
20. Swap to Puddle Terror
21. Nature's Ward (PT)
22. Sunlight (PT)
23. Swap to Magical Crawdad (MC)
24. Renewing Mists (MC)
25. Wish (MC)
26. Surge (MC)
27. Renewing Mists (MC)
28. Swap to Puddle Terror
29. Sunlight (PT)
30. Nature's Ward (PT)
31. Swap to Magical Crawdad (MC)
32. Renewing Mists (MC)
33. Wish (MC)
34. Renewing Mists (MC)
35. Swap to Puddle Terror
36. Nature's Ward (PT)
37. Sunlight (PT)
38. Swap to Magical Crawdad (MC)
39. Renewing Mists (MC)
40. Wish (MC)
41. Renewing Mists (MC) (At this point Slugger is close to death, but I protract the fight to keep pets at max health while whittling down the backline still more)
42. Swap to Puddle Terror
43. Nature's Ward (PT)
44. Nature's Ward (PT)
45. Sunlight (PT)
46. Swap to Magical Crawdad (MC)
47. Renewing Mists (MC)
48. Wish (MC)
49. Renewing Mists (MC)
50. Swap to Puddle Terror
51. Nature's Ward (PT)
52. Sunlight (PT) (in my case, Slugger and Duster died here)
53. Water Jet (PT)
54. Water Jet (PT) (in my case Runehoof died here)
At the end, I had Magical Crawdad and Slimy Eel at buffed full health (2831 and 1887 respectively) in backup, so there is a lot of safety built into this strategy. Once you get to round 53, it should be a guaranteed win just using damage abilities till the fight is over.

Chrominius - 1, 1, 1
Iron Starlette - 1, 1, 1
Nexus Whelpling - 1, 2, 2
Chrominius - bite until the first pet is almost dead then ravage to kill so you get health back
Iron Starlette - wind up, supercharge, wind up. Should one shot it at that point. Was able to powerball a few rounds afterwards too on their next pet.
Nexus Whelpling - Mana surge killed the last pet but I think because of being able to powerball on iron starlette before. Might have to arcane storm first.
Good luck!

Emerald Proto-Whelp, Emerald Bite, Emerald Presence, Emerald Dream
Baby Stonehide starts with trample
Then Tough and Cuddly
Feed then Trample until you kill Slugger
Tough and cuddly on cool down, feed on cooldown and trample on runehoof
Cogblade raptor should start with screech then exposed wounds and Batter until Runehoof dies
Whatever damage you can do on Duster is a bonus
Emerald proto-whelp starts with Emerald Presence
Emerald bite and heal up with emerald dream, Emerald Presence when it's about to drop off.

Here's your classic pet battle gang, but after some fails and tweaking, a bit of advice:
Chrominius (1, 1, 1)
Iron Starlette (1, 1, 1)
Nexus Whelpling (1, 2, 2)
Open with Chrominius. Always be aware of when Burrow is up
for Slugger
. Bite is used both as your filler and also when Slugger is either casting Burrow or is actively Burrowed. When Slugger casts Burrow, you can cast Howl, but only if Slugger's health pool is low enough to kill him with the buff you get from Howl + the Ravage attack. This ensures that the enormous damage of Howl + Ravage isn't wasted when Slugger is Burrowing. Plus, you get a bit of health to wear down the next pet! Basically, if you are aware of your health and you know what your damage from Howl +Ravage is, you can win unless you aren't paying attention to the Burrow cooldown; this is the key.
Iron Starlette. Use Powerball about three times on
Runehoof
, enough to get the Green indicator that you will go first. From that point, you can control your Iron Starlette and time your Wind-Up, Supercharge, and Wind-Up to crush Runehoof--you need to go first so that if you die, that BOTH Wind-Up and Supercharge are still up so you can drop the final Wind-Up and neutralize Runehoof. If you are paying attention to your Speed, you win this battle.
Nexus Whelpling. By this, you can breathe because your Iron Starlette and Chrominius have done the heavy lifting. Open with Arcane Storm to change the weather, then Mana Surge once and Tail Sweep once or twice to down
Duster
.
To those of you who aren't aware, the Zygor guide currently available all over (I use WoW Up, though there are others) has a built-in pet guide that you may find helpful--it gives you a pet combat log and UI that shows you what everyone's speed is to determine who goes first and what spells are up/in how many rounds are available. 10/10 recommend.
Good luck and happy battling!

Unholy Undead
*I don't recommend this strat if you're in a hurry or are easily frustrated. I didn't have other recommended pets leveled & this worked for me eventually.*
**This relies on Son of Sethe surviving long enough to hit Duster the moth at least once. Bring bandages.**
Spectral Spinner (mine is P/S) 1-2-2
Son of Sethe 2-2-1
Soulbroken Whelpling 1-2-2
Spectral Spinner - Bone Bite, Pass, Blinding Poison, Spectral Strike, Bone Bite until dead.
**Ideally you'll die w/Slugger. But if you need ONLY ONE Plagued Blood from Son of Sethe to finish off Slugger, it can still work. Otherwise restart the fight.**
Son of Sethe - Drain Blood on Runehoof, then Touch of the Animus, then fill in w/Plagued Blood & use the others on CD...*However: If TWO Drain Blood's don't hit Runehoof BEFORE your undead round starts, restart the fight. If you die before Runehoof, restart the fight. FYI, don't use Drain Blood during your undead round, as it does the least damage & the health won't do you any good.*
**Sorry it sucks, but Son of Sethe needs to survive to hit Duster at least once w/Touch of the Animus &/or Plagued Blood. If he doesn't, I have seen no scenario where Soulbroken Whelpling survives long enough to give you credit for the fight. **
Soulbroken Whelpling - **Congrats if you made it this far!** Amplify Magic, Arcane Storm, Spiritfire Bolt until Duster is dead.

Haunted Humanoids:
Dandelion Frolicker 2/2/2
Squirky 2/2/2
Slimy Darkhunter 2/1/2
Dandelion Frolicker's Bite can probably finish off the first opponent. (I used Barkskin during the Burrow.) The key here is using Dandelion Frolicker's Dazzling Dance right before he dies. Dazzling Dance gets Squirky's speed up so he doesn't get stunned against the 2nd opponent. For me, Dandelion was still alive and able to Bite the 2nd opponent once before going down.
With Squirky (speed buffed from the Dance), I started off with his Bubble, followed by Stampede, and then Fish Slap to finish off the 2nd opponent. If he doesn't have his speed buff, he's likely to be stunned at least once, and the fight gets much, much harder.
Slimy Darkhunter then finished off the last opponent with his magic abilities.
It didn't seem too tough, but there is some RNG risk since the opponent's pets can hit for high damage sometime. Slimy Darkhunter's Expunge does variable damage too. My Dandelion Frolicker was P/S, and my Squirky was B/B; I'm not sure if this mattered.

i was looking for an easy level one team to knock this world quest out, but didn't have the pets at level one that people were recommending. here's what worked for me, all at level one:
tinder pup
ancient nest guardian
anomalus
i won the fight by literally one hp on anomalus, so i guess your mileage may vary. if you don't have the pets a guide tells you to use, just find a group of level one pets with attacks strong against critters, beasts, and flying! good luck.

Elemental Strategy :-
Fozling (1-2-2)
Broot (2-2-2)
Any 25 elemental, doesn't matter.
Simple thing, Fozling is your tank. Sunlight > Photosynthesis. Switch to Broot, Photosynthesis > Sunlight. Switch back to Fozling, keep switching over and over, the 3rd 25 elemental is out of question. It will just watch you kill the npc.
Goodluck.

The most consistent I've come up with is Fel Piglet (1,2,2), Iron Starlette (1,2,1) or GO Ultratonk (2,2,1) or Menagerie Custodian (1,1,2) and Empyreal Manafiend (1,2,1).
Unless there's a crit, Fel Piglet makes it to Runehoof (who will kill him in 1 or 2 rounds).
Then get off either the Windup, Supercharge, Windup combo from Iron Starlette for the kill or 2 Lock-ons (4 turns) and Ion Cannon from Ultratonk or Zap, Shock and Awe, Zap, Ion Cannon from Custodian. If Runehoof stuns (25% chance) only my Ultratonk or Custodian with Ion Cannon can damage him enough to get to Duster.
Then you have to hope that Duster doesn't crit long enough for Manafiend to wear him down for Surge of Power kill.
Been the most reliable, but it definitely doesn't work when Runehoof stuns.
Seems to be that the stun on Runehoof basically makes or breaks this fight.

13. Runehoof dies and Duster enters killing Void-Scarred Anubisath round 1
14. Deflection second round to avoid Predatory Strike. If the stun switched Duster in before Runehoof dies, Void-Scarred Anubisath will die here. The key is to align Deflection with Duster's Predatory Strike which he casts every 5 rounds on CD. 15. Sandstorm to reduce Moth Balls damage. Use Sandstorm on CD.

For
Haunted Humanoids
:
Anubisath Idol
(1,1,1)
Squirky
(1,2,2)
Void-Scarred Anubisath
(2,1,2)
I will note that the most important parts of this fight was being able to mitigate/dodge the attacks coming at you, so if you have other pets that can accomplish that goal, you could probably sub them in.
Against Slugger, I started with Sandstorm, then waited for him to Burrow before using the Deflection. Fill in with Crush. Keep Sandstorm up, and repeat until Slugger dies.
For Runehoof, a lot of people suggest swapping, I didn't bother since I didn't need the Idol anymore, I just kept Sandstorm up and tried to do as much as I could until he died. Now, I will say that Sandstorm was to my detriment with Squirky cause it made his Stampede miss, but it didn't hurt me in the long run. I dunno if that was RNG or just the way it goes. Anyway. Once Anubisath Idol was dead, brought out the murloc. Bubble, then Stampede until one of them dies. So long as Runehoof is dead or nearly dead when Squirky goes down, it's fine.
Once you bring out Void-Scarred, use Sandstorm, you need it against Duster so his attacks will miss. Keep Sandstorm up. Kill Runehoof if it's still up with either Sanstorm or Spitfire Bolt, or both if you must. Once Duster is out, use Creeping Insanity. Keep Sandstorm up, like I said, and fill in with Spitfire. He should die once the Insanity triggers.

After many many many tries at this. This is a combination of a few suggestions.
Haunted humanoids
Anubisath Idol 1,1,1
Father Winter's Helper 2,1,1
Anubisath Idol 1,1,1
Sandstorm, pass, Deflect and Crush until Slugger is dead. You might be able to get Sandstorm or a Crush into Runehoof, anything is better than nothing.
Runehoof is a serious pain. I followed another strategy for this with the Father Helper.
Ice Tomb, Blizzard then Ice Lance, I feel like you have to live until Ice Tomb drops on Runehoof otherwise it will be a fail and you may as well start over. Runehoof will be stunned and should have 30% HP give or take when Duster gets swapped in and I just Ice Lanced until dead. Now, I can consider myself lucky in this instance because Duster used his best ability to take down Father's Helper so when my second Anubisath Idol came in I just had to beat Duster before that move was available again.
Sandstorm, Deflect and Crush until Duster was dead, Runehoof entered ring and I had a good chunk of HP but I also know Runehoof can stun so I started withy Deflect then I used Crush and Sandstorm and there was my victor. My Idol had maybe 400hp left over.
There was a comment somewhere here that said something along the lines of "If you are in a rush, this will not work for you because this isn't a quick fight," I almost feel like this will be the case if you are going for the Meta Achievement. I probably used about 10 bandages and a few Revive pets on this fight before this strategy finally worked. And it worked on my first try. This may take you a few tries, the RNG is heavy with Runehoof.
Good luck!

IF YOU'RE NEW TO PET BATTLES. I was new and just learned pet battles in Shadowlands. These are easy and obtainable pets that will get the job done. Hope this helps the newbies like me out there.
Teroclaw Hatchling: 1, 1, 2
Iron Starlette: 1, x, 1
Nexus Whelpling: 2, 2, 2
Start with Teroclaw Hatchling:
On Slugger, use Claw, Dodge, Claw, then Ravage for the kill.
When Runehoof comes in:
Use dodge on CD and Claw until Teroclaw dies. I aim to get two Claws in before dying.
Iron Starlette comes in.
Wind-Up. Iron Starlette can be trampled and lose this turn. If this happens repeat this turn.
Supercharge
Wind-Up. If Iron Starlette has been trampled or stunned in this turn and lost Supercharge then restart.
Nexus Whelping comes in next:
Arcane storm, Mana Surge and it's a GG.

Be prepared to reset a lot, but I've done all the hardwork and grinded for about 1-2hrs.
Chaos Pup P/B, 1/2/1
Lost Quil S/S, 2/2/2
Eldritch Manafiend P/S, 1/2/2
1) Bite
2) Enrage
3) Bite
4) Bite
5) Chaos Pup die (You might survive, and you might get 1 hit in but it doesnt really matter, too much further down can go wrong)
6) Bring in Lost Quil - Stay Awhile and Listen
7) Spectral Spine - this has a 50% to miss but when it lands its amazing
8) Arcane Slash
9) Arcane Slash, if you are slowed you have to reset, if are are slowed at any point by MothBalls you must reset
10) Arcane slash, Duster dies
11) In comes Runehoof, Spectral Spine
12) If you are hit, reset, otherwise Arcane Slash, you want to survive at least the first hit
13) Arcane slash, if are are hit, you will die, if Runehoof doesnt have about 1k HP left, then your chances are slim
14) Soulrush
15) Surge of Power

All mechanicals team
False Knucklebump (1,2,2), Runeforged Servitor (2,2,x), Iron Starlette (1,2,1)
Barrel Toss, Repair, Barrel Toss, Smash until False Knucklebump dies
Wind-Up, Supercharge, Wind-Up, Wind-Up, Wind-Up until Runeforged Servitor dies (you might get stunned and that might cause you to lose)
Wind-Up, Toxic Smoke, Wind-Up or Wind-Up, Supercharge, Wind-Up, depending on the moth's health

Glitterdust:
Iron Starlette -- 1,1,1,
Ikky -- 1,1,1
Wild Golden Hatchling -- 2,1,2
Iron Starlette: Wind up -> Supercharge -> Wind up (if opponent crits start over) -> Wind up (x2) -> Powerball -> Dead
Ikky: Black Claw -> Flock -> Rinse and repeat until you win or Ikky is dead
Wild Golden Hatchling: Call Lightning (risky but necessary) -> spam Tail Sweep

Eerie elementals:
Core Hound Pup (2,1,2)
Stormwrath (2,2,2)
Tiny Snowman (2,1,2)
Core Hound Pup: 1) Howl 2) Burrow -> Slugger dies -> 3) Trash (If stunned reset) 4) Howl -> your pet dies
Stormwrath: 1) Call Lightning -> Runehoof dies -> 2) Lightning shield 3) Wild Winds (if possible) -> Your pet dies
Tiny Snowman: 1) Call Blizzard 2) Deep Freeze 3-4) Magic Hat
Give this strategy a chance. It might not work first time because you need to get lucky with Stun and Moth Balls.

I did this with level one pets to just get through it and avoid as much fuss as possible… Beast, Mechanical, Magic.
-Spawn of Galaron
-Menagerie Custodian (died but rezzed since mechanical)
-Untethered Wyrmling
Easy.

Haunted Humanoids
Anubisath Idol (Demolish,Sandstorm,Deflection). This is the important one, kills 1.5mobs even if you get unlucky with the 50% Demolish ability
Corefire Imp (Rush, Flame thrower, Cauterize))
Flayer Youngling (Blitz, Deflection Kick)
Start with Idol:
Sandstorm
Demolish (might get unlucky 3 times like I did and still it destroys Slugger
Deflection when Slugger coming out of underground
keep Demolishing and Sandstorm out of cd.
Corefire imp
Flamethrower at start
Rush
Rush (Cauterize if below 1K to keep alive)
Flayer Youngling
Kick
Deflection
Blitz
Blitz
Worked 1st try even with 3 50% Demolish missing.
For Flickering Fliers:
Skywisp Moth (Slicing Wind, Cocoon Strike, Call Lightning). Call Lightning positively destroys the 2 beast mobs
Call Lightning
Cocoon Strike
Slicing Wind, keep until Cocoon Strike is out of CD or Call Ligthing is out of CD...
when he dies, the 2nd mob is about 300HP left.
Switch to any comb you like, like this one:
Direbeak Hatchling
Bloodgazer Hatchling
Worked 1st time, no RNG here except may be 1 hit of Slicing Wind more or less that won't make much difference. The difference is keeping Lightning Storm up even if your Moth dies, it'll keep on.

A little RNG, but with the lack of pets for the recommended comps I went with the following all humanoids comp:
Lil' Bad Wolf 1, 2, 1
Anubisath Idol 2, 1, 1
Winter's Little Helper 2, 1, 2
Slugger:
Claw, Dodge, Claw until Slugger dies
Runehoof:
Claw, Howl, Pass - Lil' Bad Wolf dies (make sure you get howl on Runehoof).
Demolish, Sandstorm - Runehoof Dies
Duster:
Swap to Winter's Little Helper
Gift of Winter's Veil, Call Blizzard, Ice Lance until Helper dies
Finish off with Anubisath Idol

I was lucky enough to beat them with Iron Starlette, Darkmoon Zeppelin, and Rabid Nut Varmint 5000 for Macabre Mechanicals.
Iron Starlette vs Slugger: Wind-up, Supercharge, Wind-up, Slugger dies
Iron Starlette vs Runehoof: Toxic Smoke, Iron Starlette dies
Darkmoon vs Runehoof: Bombing Run, Decoy, Missle, Missle, Bomb drops, Runehoof dies
Darkmoon vs Duster: Bombing Run, Missle, Darkmoon Zepplin dies
RNV 5000 vs Duster: Extra Plating, Metal Fist until Duster dies

Didn't have some of the ones others had and managed to do it with this team. May be dependent on RNG and if you get stunned more than usual

I won Haunted Humanoids with Lil' Bad Wolf (1,2,1), Anubisath Idol (2,1,1) and Void-Scarred Anubisath (2,2,2). Claw, Dodge, Howl and with good RNG Claw will kill first pet. Switch to A Idol, absorbed the first hit, Deflect, Sandstorm and hopefully your Demolish x2 will finish off second pet. If not, VS Anubisath with Spitfire Bolt will. Use Creeping Insanity, Soulrush and Spitefire Bolt, with good RNG you'll kill the last moth with lots of life left over and an almost full-health Wolf. GOOD LUCK.

I'm not sure how many people are out here trying to get old pet battle achievements anymore but I believe I've found a very strong team for
小动物的大步伐
which has little to no RNG.
Team:
Golden Chirper
x/1/1
Golden Chirper
x/1/1
Gleamhoof Fawn
1/2/1
This is a
太阳光
strat, so you know it's a long fight, but even with a few crits and incorrect ability uses, I was able to win. Breed doesn't seem to matter however more health and attack on the Golden Chirpers is definitely a safe bet.
Strat:
Sunlight
Swap to Gleamhoof Fawn
Nature's Ward (Burrow will be a strong attack still but you'll have plenty of time to heal up)
Bleat
Swap to second Golden Chirper
Nature's Touch
Sunlight
Swap to Gleamhoof Fawn
Nature's Ward
Bleat
Swap to first Golden Chirper
Nature's Touch
Sunlight
-----
You essentially repeat that strategy and rotate in Gleamhoof Fawn to keep the Golden Chirpers alive. A couple times during the fight, I kept the Gleamhoof Fawn in for two uses of Burrow so I could get an extra Bleat or two off to give the Golden Chirpers more health. The important thing to note is that you should NEVER use Hoof, at least not until both backline pets die to Sunlight.
I'm not very good at writing these strategies so if someone can explain better, please feel free.

I did it with the following:
阿努比萨斯人偶
: 1,1,1
暗月飞艇
: 1,1,2
安静的机械雪人
: 1,1,1
Anub: Sandstorm, Crush, (Deflection whenever Slugger burrows), repeat until Anub dies. Runehoof should have ~50% HP remaining.
Zepp: Decoy (if stunned, re-cast Decoy next round), Bombing Run, and then spam Missile untill Zepp dies. It should finish off Runehoof.
Yeti: Supercharge, Call Lightning, and then spam Metal Fist untill win.

Possibly the most RNG dependent of the Shadowland Pet WQs.
Glitterdust's second pet, Runehoof, has TWO stun attacks.
Headbutt has a 25% chance to stun. Horn Attack, if your pet is slower than Runehoof, has a 50% chance. And Runehoof is 354 speed.
You may have noticed that enemy pet's RNG somehow always seems better than yours. I usually skip Gllitterdust WQ unless it has a really good reward that day.

Bloodseeker (1,2,2) completly decimates Slugger.
It's Bloodfang -> Bubble -> Dive -> Bloodfang.

Starting to write a guide here. Starting on aquatic pets:
Glitterdust
(Full Aquatic Team)
Bloodseeker (1,1,2)
Puddle Terror (1,1,1)
Magical Crawdad (2,1,2)
Comment: There isn't a lot of Aquatic tactics guides on wowhead, but using the healing trick on Puddle Terror and Magical Crawdad will probably work 100%, without bringing in a 3rd pet. The reason I included Bloodseeker was to make things speed up. In the end I spent a lot of time trying to win like this, with my own tactics included. I did win in the end, but it was kinda messy. If you just want to win with a full aquatic pet team, just use Puddle Terror and Magical Crawdad from the start.
Tactics
Bloodseeker -> Bloodfang -> Bubble -> Dive -> Bloodfang Treasure Goblin (2,1,1)
Ranishu Runt (1,1,2)
Squirky (1,2,2)
Comment: Treasure Goblin and Ranishu were good choices, with the only annoying RNG part being Runehoof's stun. Still, pretty simple to get to Duster...where the big problems starts...Basically yes I did win with this team, but it was beyond exciting to see if the Moth balls hit me. Surely you will win with this setup...eventually, but I was 1 moth ball from losing, and Duster can do soo much more damage with his Moth balls when Call Lightning is up. I would have felt better with a different 3rd pet, but well...I won...so here we are!
P.S Tried Father Winter's Helper (1,1,2) as well, but it's the same deal. Moth balls luck. Also, it took me 3 freaking tries to even get to Duster, to even see if this worked.
