The absolute best strategy to defeat all pets, if you don't have a large roster or are new to pet battles, is to use an entire team of level one pets, as these pet world quests scale with your pet's level. When the pet is scaled to your level at level one, it loses most of its abilities and difficulty.

I just gave it a shot with Boneshard and Ikky, who were in the team at the time, and it worked.

Soloed this guy with a Northern Hawk Owl (1, 1, 1). Call Darkness -> Nocturnal Strike -> Savage Talon 'til it's dead. Seems to me that almost any flying-type pets could probably take this thing apart pretty quickly. Didn't even get to use my falcosaur hatchlings.

Easy solo with Ikky (2,1,1):

This should finish him off before the whirlpool finishes. This may depend on RNG so have a second pet lined up just incase.

Defeated him with only one 白化观暮鸦 (2,1,x) - Start with 空袭 until you drop down to around 700HP, then use 吸血 and finish him with 空袭.

I wonder if this guy is actually unintentionally undertuned. Wowhead lists 2700 hp, but for me in game it's 2303 and that's not even elite. To top it off he has 202 attack and 138 health and his abilities are Deep Bite, Spiked Shell and Whirlpool. He might literally be the easiest pet battle boss in the game.

As other posters have said, Ikky will easily solo it. The whole thing is so underwhelming that I do legitimately wonder if it is not intended to be this easy.

You probably must be 60 in order to get the credit for defeating him. Even though he is easy and the system says "you win" + giving you exp, I am 55 lvl and did not get the credit for defeating him 2 times.

Slicing Wind and Cyclone your heart out then Life exchange when he gets ya low. Pretty easy solo

Teroclaw hatchling alpha shield crit end, pet battles seem to have become an afterthought this xpac, ran out of time Blizz eh - something has to suffer, and who cares about pets anyway right!

Also a quick note: I figured out that if one of my hunter pets is within the battle pet's collision box it will always show this message. So if you're having trouble not being able to initiate a battle, try dismissing your pet(s).

Anytime I see a mob with one 3 round attack that takes a couple of rounds to drop and one 1 round attack I think... "Hmmm... maybe I'll use Nevermore against this guy."

Gilnean Raven with Peck / Nevermore. Or Shadefeather Hatching with Peck / Hawk Eye / Nevermore.

Round 1: Peck.
Round 2: Peck.
Round 3: Nevermore.
Round 4: Feel sorry for the poor turtle. (Peck).
Round 5: Continue watching fight through fingers. (Peck).
Round 6: Likely as not put the poor thing out of its miserable attack-starved life, but you might need one more Peck. (Peck)
Round 7: Gentle Peck to usher him into the ... afterlife?

If you're using Shadefeather Hatchling may as well use Hawk Eye round 2 if you feel literally no mercy or you accidentally decided to use a flurry style attack on a dude with damage reduction and want to show him who his Daddy is.

For this one I recommend Fledgling Warden Owl and you'll defeat it with 3 attacks:

-Quills first so it doesn't get reduced later on by Spiked Shell
-Call Darkness to set up our finisher
-Nocturnal Strike to finish the battle

There are a lot of possible flying pets that will also do the trick but I recommend this one if you don't have one of the others because this pet is cheap on the AH and it's a very strong pet to have on your roster.

Details (not sure if important): other pets in team are blue/rare 25lvl flyings.
Owl has health 1481, power 325, speed 244.

Found this by accident, but it was fun!

I soloed this with an uncommon, level 23 活化凝血 (1,2,1), (both P/B and B/B worked the same). Super simple!

Just continue whacking away with the priority above, as things come off cooldown, easy :D

Easily soloable by Enchanted Pen with Quills, Evanescence, and Nevermore. Attack with quills, Evanescence when Whirlpoool is due to hit, Nevermore on Deep Bite. Over 1/2 health left, never loses.

No Enchanted Pen? No problem! Buy one on the AH. Support your local pet farmers.
