does not even count as a boss. amazingly easy. he comes with 2 adds that can be sheeped or killed quickly b/c they heal the Main tank.
He puts a debuff on the MT that reduces healing (unconfirmed) that stacks so he cant be left alive for too long
piece of cake
Easy as pie. Just make sure the area is clear enough to fight him and kill off his healers first.
He's an incredibly easy fight, with about 10 pulls leading up to him. He comes with two healer adds that try to heal themselves or the Watchkeeper, and a SW:P. Basically, kill the adds, kill watchkeeper, loot and move on. He has a healing debuff similar to Fankriss and Kurinaxx except it stacks in 5% increments instead of 10%. In addition, he also has a knockback charge that he does every 30 seconds or so.
His charge attack seems focused on the character furthest from him, so spellcasters need to stay close to Gargolmar while burning down his healer adds and DPS'ing down the boss.
His Special Abilities:
Surge - Randomly charges party members for minor damage and knocking them down. (Roughly 500-700 dmg on cloth)
Unprepared - At 50% health in will call to his minions asking for healing/help. It is wise to kill the mobs near his patrol for engaging him.
Real easy fight, kill his two adds or crowd control them in such a way where they can't cast, I.e. heal.
Ranged DPS just watch his surge ability and burn him down. Easy to tank and heal for.
1.) Charge: he randomly charge a person dealing some damage and a knockdown effect. Rumored to hit the person furthest from him.
2.) Mortal wound: stacking debuff that reduces healing done by 10%. Rarely will you see it stack. More a nusance than a threat.
3.) Healer buddies: He comes with 2 adds. They either need to be killed first or sheeped. Freezing trap/Sap is not reliable enough so just kill them down if you don't have enough mages to sheep them both.
On heroic difficulty:
- dont forget to clear larger area than you are used on normal difficulty
- the fight is the same with some small changes (see further)
- keep one add sheeped, kill other add first, then boss, then last add
- random charge does cca 1200-1500 on cloth, does that pretty often
- hits tank for 2K, has more HP, fight is longer.
- bring two healers, two dps, one tank
His charge always hits the furthest away party member.
This guy is deffinately easy! Kill the healers, and just tank him just easy as pie. Make sure you sheep the healers. Easy as pie.
Did this last night on heroic, this guy was a joke. We downed him on our first journey into a heroic instance. I think he was easier than I remember him being in normal mode @ 60.
1x Prot Pally (tank)
1x Holy Pally (me, healer)
Cleared the area around him, basically everything near that far right end of the hall where the boss pat will pause & turn around to head back. Tank grabs him, mage sheeps one add. Rogues destroy the second. Then standard tank & spank. Mage resheeps as needed. Had everyone stand close to him, I stood further back to soak the charge damage when he broke loose. Healing debuff has a 30 sec duration, so it will stack up on the tank. Managed to get 5 stacks on him, but was still easy enough to outheal. Debuff apparantly can't be applied if attack is dodged, blocked or parried however, so this is one way tanks can make their healers happy.
Really this fight is like a free badge.
We had no problem with this guy, two mages one paladin one rogue one priest.
I have to idea about the charge since i was busy behind him so i can use all my moves including backstab our paladin was tanking and our mages and priest stayed furthest away so one of them might've got it, we sheeped his healers and killed them after him, and his pretty big second biggest NPC in ramparts. Not like the other red orcs he is greyish black color.
It should also be noted that he has another ability: Retaliation - It does exactly the same as the warrior's Retaliation, I'm not sure when, but I think he activates it at around 30% hp.
Leader of the rampart's watcher regiment, he lost his hands in an epic battle in the third war.
Must've been hard growing up without hands lol
In the 39 times i did him on al my characters he dropped 34 times
Light Touched Breastplate
Not very funny when you need the sword or the leggs
Just blow down his healers while the tank holds his attention, and he's more or less one of the trash mobs with a few special abilities.
One thing about him: he'll call out for healing even if both of his healers are dead. He's not very bright, it seems.
For Feral Druids looking to solo this guy, here is what I did:
It's pretty straight forward really. I took out the first three guys in the instance, and stealthed to the staircase and killed the two guards.
From their I pulled one of the healers with a wrath and regrowthed myself then switched to bear. I stacked lacerate to five, kept mangle refreshed, and used maul when I had left over rage (you'll have plenty). I used my trinkets (+dodge) early when all three were hitting me, and when I got down to 10K or so HP I used my frenzied regen (use it early incase the fight is long).
Time the cooldown on your mangle so that you can use it along with a maul to finish off the first healer before he gets healed. I think I saved my bash for the second healer.
By the time I finished off the 2nd healer I was probably down to 8K hp. From there it is just a matter of dpsing Gargolmar down before he kills you. Don't try and pop out to heal. He hits too fast and hard. I killed him with only around 2K hp left.
I did this in mostly beginner PvP gear for a good mix of health, AP, and armor. You may have better luck in solid tanking gear... not sure. I could never kill him in regular tanking gear for some reason.
My stats were:
27% dodge & crit
For some reason he drops a blood knight defender, why is this?
He fel orc- BK's Belfs.
This boss is
easy so don't worry although he does have 2 clerics with him that will heal him so you could choose to just kill them first (Thats what me and my group did) or just focus on him and take him out quickly then pick off the clerics either way this boss isn't too hard. I hope this information helps :D
This boss is proably the easiest of all bosses in ramps. He got no special abs, and he is easily downable. Mind although that you take out his followers, they can heal him, when he yells:
"Heal me! Quickly!" If they're still alive, they will heal him. But they are easily downable. U can proably instead of killing them first just interrupt them, counterspell, stuns, silencing effects and such. He's very easy!
Downed him easily on normal, didn't bother with the healers just tank and spanked him down then took the adds. He called out for heals at about 6k health but we downed him before he could get them.
do you have to be lvl 80 to go to heroic dungeons?
Since I didn't see it mentioned here, I thought I would ask just out of curiosity: Is there an obtainable model of those insane-looking spaulders?
Anyone happen to know what cloak he's wearing or what cloak got closest look from it?
AKA Watchkeeper Garglbarglargh (in my head).
Isn't Gargolmar a Smurf's character? What is he doing slashing away at WoW characters?
His quote "Back off, pup!" is a reference to the Shaman unit from Warcraft III. When clicked on multiple times, the Shaman might say this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe any friendly Orc NPC nowadays will say this when clicked on multiple times.
Blizzard needs to turn all orcs in Ramparts blue and change this guy's name to Gargamel.
