This is the fourth and final boss of the "Abomination" (north-west) wing of Naxxramas. Strategies for defeating him can be found at
For a lagy server, it is best to do the left right strat. Here is a mod that can help
Some known "bugs" if you could say it that way:
1) If a hunter feigns death, a rogue vanishes, a player activates soulstone, a divine intervention is removed or anything gets alive after a wipe before Thaddius has respawned, it will cause everyone to be in combat. This means you won't be able to resurrect, drink or summon.
How to fix it: Everyone in the instance must die or get outside; the green slime can help players inside die.
How to prevent it: Tell your soul stoned players to wait for Thaddius to spawn before they activate their soulstone. Also tell your rogues and hunters to restrict from even using Vanish/FD.
2) This one is basically based on slow computers. During the polarity shift, you will see the debuff countdown reset (0:59) and the image will be the same as before, either positive (+) or negative (-). However, a few seconds after 0:59 ticks the image buff will be updated and you may see that you have the opposite buff. This can easily cause a wipe.
I've had this one once or twice, but luckily I haven't had any problems with it for a while.
How to prevent it: Always double-check your debuff. Addons may help you figure if it bugs, but always keep an eye out on the debuff. Better safe than sorry!
I have noticed that many people have a problem with making the jump from the mini-boss platforms to Thaddius's platform. The solution to this is using a swiftness potion with autorun - a surefire way to make the jump if for any reason you feel you might not be able to. Each person that doesn't make the jump makes half the raid do 10% less damage in addition to losing the damage/healing of that person himself.
The head set items are ofc cool looking but the stats are not really on par with the work you have to go through to get all the way up to this boss and finally killing him.
Both mages and priests can use slowfall and levitation and make it down to Thaddius' platform without jumping.
If you do fall, it's possible to get into the rotation by watching when the polarity shift is and where people of the same charge are. Be aware if you don't have a charge, wait till you do or people of both charges will zap you and you them.
For our few kills we've used with success the 4 point strategy where if you change polarity you rotate one direction around Thaddius and if not, the other direction. An advantage is you when someone disconnects, they have time to come back or you have time to prepare for that person's zap.
Rogues and Druids could also dash to get some extra air :D but honestly any class can make it without abilities
If you have trouble making the leap I would advise carrying a few noggen-fogger on you and using them when the adds are at around 20% until you get slow-fall. Sadly I know a few people who rely on this, but hey it works!
if you do this fight correctly you should do around three times your normal damage, just a little blizzard trick so people will do it correctly, most likely.
His quote if you enter his room is cool:
(enter this in-game)
A little background on Thaddius, these quotes are from wowwiki:
* You are too late... I... must... OBEY!
* EAT YOUR BONES!
* BREAK YOU!
* Now YOU feel pain!
* You die now!
* Thank... you...
The following quotes (echoing screams would probably be more accurate) are heard echoing throughout Naxxramas in addition to during the fight with Thaddius. The screams sound like those of a child:
* Stop, make it stop!
* Help me! Save me!
* Please, nooo!
It seems as if Thaddius is being forced to obey the Scourge against his will. Judging from the bottom quotes, my guess is that the scourge captured a human and turned them into the being Thaddius is now. Of course that is just pure speculation.
at level 70 a t5 geared tank can get away thru his enrage BUT the chaing lithing will hit for 15k one shooting everybody else. also he has 7 million HP so you need lots of dps and peopel to stay alive so you can use the polarity shift charges.
"Eat your bones!"
"Now you feel pain!"
"You are too late! I.. must.. obey!"
"You die now!"
<ghost like voices in the room>
"Please help me!..."
"Help me! Save me!..."
I find it quite amusing that his 25man wotlk counterpart has 27million hp.
Strat is still the same - physical ppl on the right ramp, magic ppl on the left ramp. Kill them within close timeframe so that they dont res each other. Jump down tank Thaddius in the middle and assign negative to left and positive to right.
If everyone stays on (and quickly movs to) the correct side it's done.
The HP on this site is incorrect, 12k? Lies :p
Or... you just tell people BLUE LEFT and RED RIGHT and make the switch when it happens as soon as it happens. No need for confusing strategies, simple is better.
This fight presents much more of a challenge in 25 man then it does in 10 man.
25 man strategy
There is a strict 6 minute hard enrage cooldown after Thaddius himself is engaged, only way to take down his health pool is to make sure ALL DPSers get the buff so he can die fast, we even had a few healers help DPS since his raid damage is negligible.
There are two main problems. First, the "Thaddius Jump" after the 2 adds are down in Phase 1, I don't understand personally how people have trouble with this but 2-3 always seem to miss the jump. Just use auto-run, jump when you hit the ledge, and go STRAIGHT, not at an angle, and you'll make it everytime. You DO need to press the jump button, you just can't fall down or you won't make it. If you do miss the jump, run back allll the way around and attempt it again. IMPORTANT! If you make the jump a 2nd time and want to get in the fight, WAIT until you have a charge given to you by Thaddius. If you run in with no charge you will blow up those who do have a charge!
Second main problem are obviously people killing eachother when not stacking with the right charge. First off, assign positions for where negative and positives stand. We did negatives on left side of Thaddius, positive on right. When polarity shift happens (the spell Thaddius does to change charges on people), WATCH your charge. If it changes, switch to the other side, if it doesn't change, stay there. Melee needs to make sure to stay at MAX hit range (5 yards) of Thaddius, to avoid killing eachother with charges.
Finally, if you're having problems with lag (This is quite a graphic intense fight for older PCs), turn down all your video settings to low, especially your Spell Detail, and see if that helps. Just make sure that when Polarity shift does happen, you react as soon as possible, because you only have around 5 seconds.
This fight definitely tests your raid's ability to react quickly. Even if one person dies, it affects your DPS drastically because that's one less person adding another 100% damage buff to a group of people. We found that if more than 3 people died, he hit his Hard enrage and wiped us all at 10-15% health or so. We finally downed him with everyone alive, but it was pretty close, maybe we were lacking the right number of DPS, meh. Oh, another small hint, when Thaddius does his first polarity shift, use bloodlust, that way you'll get a 2nd bloodlust in before the enrage happens.
This boss is pretty easy on normal, we got him first try with just first-timers. Our raid was mostly in blues and some heroic epics, nothing too fancy.
Our raid setup
Warrior MT, unholy DK OT (dps at thaddius), 2 Mages, a hunter, two holy paladins, a holy priest, an ele shammy and a dps dk.
Hits harder than Feugen.
DPS: Doesn't really matter (Mages / Ele shammy in our case)
Healing: 2 out of 3 healers (2 paladins in our case)
Does aoe damage.
DPS: Doesn't really matter. (We had a DK and Hunter on Feugen in our case)
Healing: one aoe healer (Priest in our case)
Every 20 or so seconds the tanks will be jumped over to the other platform, healers need to switch targets (personally sitting around 30k hp I took around 2200 fall damage).
Stalagg and Feugen have to die at roughly the same time so make sure to slow down the dps on the boss that has 3 out of 5 dps.
When you kill the minibosses you need to jump over to the platform where Thaddius is standing, none of us had trouble doing so.
He does a chain lightning on 3 (or 4 not sure) random targets every 15 or so seconds, this is easily healed.
Make sure you assign sides for the different charges before you start the fight, we had left for negative (minus) charge and right for positive (plus) charge.
Once Thaddius starts attacking, make sure your tank is there to pick him up, when people recieve their charges they should get into position and clutter up at around 10yards range from the boss. Thaddius has a fairly large hitbox so melee can stand in the same spot as ranged.
If you stand max range you will miss out on the damage buff which will be required for lower dps groups, we had some people that did stand at max range and we still had about a minute left to enrage once we had him down. (easy way to check if you are cluttered up enough, you should have a buff with 4 stacks that increases damage).
Every 30 or so seconds Thaddius will cast polarity shift, he has a castbar for this so it won't be unexpected.
Your charge might, or might not change, it won't neccesarily change every time.
Make sure you switch sides if your charge changes, and get in position asap. (You could have everyone switch on their right side of Thaddius to minimize shock damage, but we didn't have alot of trouble with this.)
Healing isn't too hard on this fight so you could ask one healer to help dps, he does have an enrage timer so if your dps s lacking this might be vital to the fight.
Good luck, he isn't too hard but he is fun :)
A a correction from downing him last night on 25 man Naxxramas, His enrage timer is 6 minutes, not 5 as this page says. I know this for fact as with good timing, you get off 2 bloodlusts right when you need them.
His adds are cake, just keep them about even DPS wise and they'll go down no problem, power surge is the only thing to watch out for.
Finding a good polarity shift rotation is imperative. We found a circular method worked better for us. Just find something and stick to it as most times you'll need everyone alive to burn through his 30mil hp in 6 minutes.
If you're having trouble getting the jump for whatever reason, I suggest using a
. If you use one you don't even have to jump, you can just run right across - works even if you're getting 2 fps!
I have a bug on him that people might want to know about.
If you battleress people at him then they wont have a polarity and will suffer dmg from both polarities instead of none of them.
I think this is a bug as blizzard can't be serious that you can't ress people on him.
Here is a question:
absorb Negative/Positive charges dmg? Anyone tried it yet?
Ideal for a polarity rotation:
From entrance point of view:
+ left of Thaddius, - right of Thaddius.
Whenever there is a polarity shift, if you have to get to the other side. ALWAYS run via your right side of Thaddius, this way you will never hit anyone of the other polarity.
And make very sure that people are standing close enough to eachother to get the stacking buff. People tend to stand a bit too far away.
This made this fight a piece of cake.
- 10 man
Two phase fight. Kill the two mini-bosses and then kill Thaddius
: Two groups at each mini boss platform
Stalagg- Tank with caster group
Feugen- Tank with melee group
(doesn't really matter, just split dps evenly)
Approx every 20 seconds, tanks will be thrown into the air with a lightning beam and forced to switch places.
: Kill them at approx the same time or they will resurrect each other. (fyi: Mirror images and pets will often run to the other platform when you pop them. Since the coodown isn't bad on these, it might still be worth popping them) Also keep Stalagg and Feugen close to the lightning rod, pulling them away from the rod causes a raid-wide chain lightning.
: Everyone RUN and jump off their platform to the secondary platform where Thaddius is standing.
: Tank Thaddius
: Nuke Thaddius down to avoid enrage.
: Minor raid dmg from chain lightning, small tank spikes so long as people pay attention to charges.
Every 30 seconds, he will cast a polarity shift. Those who are charged positively stand to the right of him and those who are negative stand to the left of him.
: When the shift occurs, have those going from negative to positive, run through his feet to the positive side while those going from positive to negative, run to the edge of his platform to get to the negative side. This way, you don't get extra damage from colliding charges. We chose clockwise direction but either works as long as positives and negatives never collide.
Thaddius, built from the flesh of women and children, it is said that their souls are fused together - eternally bound within that foul prison of flesh
Quoted from Commander Eligore Dawnbringer.
we killed this guy in our first go and is probally my favorite fight in naxx but a general tip is :
make your positive go to the right of thaddius and your negative go to the left
if you get changed from positive to negative run through the tank who should be tanking were he is and if you are negative moving poitive go to the very edge of teh platform
for the tank he should just turn so his back faces what ever charge he is
hope this tip helps so gl hf =)
This boss isnt to hard, as previously stated. I just want to note that, the jump is probably harder than the fight is. More people miss the jump, than they wipe on the fight. Even if your a rogue who is barely putting out 1k dps on the other fights, this one you should put out more due to the nature of the buffs you get. Do it right, grab your epics, hit up military quarter.
This boss is extremely difficult on 25man under the influence of so many people standing together. Downed this boss two days ago, boss skills remain the same except he hits like a truck, other than mass healng on the MT and some small heals for the chain lighting, nothing much about this boss if you have your team synchronized for Polarity Shift
Someone has also made a point about this above..but 25 man its very important to not let even one person die. Also...as a druid it was frustrating because I cannot rely on a battle res since 10 people with a charge will destroy someone without any charge at all.
Also, keep in mind every person dead is not buffing lets say...12 people with 10% more damage. Overall that translates to huge raid dps. So...just keep in mind that every player is important to destroying this guy.
Another tip, when you see thaddius channeling his move, don't even look at your bars. Just look at your buff, then move. I have never failed (we downed him our first try when we walked into 10 man naxx with my guild for example). 25 is a lot harder since they expect your damage to be tremendous (25 buffs) so stay alive and you'll down him :D This fight is almost like a combo of staying alive like in Archy in Hyjal as well as having great dps like Patchwerk.
k this boss is simpel as long as its explained well
you will have to take down the 2 ? dude on platforms relaticely at the same time just like romeo and juliet you have to keep em close to the thing that shoots lighting or they hit harder they will do tank jump so if mt is and romeo and oT is on juliet OT will then be on romeo and MT will be on juliet after they die you have to jump to down Thaddius
Thaddius: he will to + and negtive charges neg on left positve on right if you die make sure whne you get a B rez that he is not casting lighting cause if you dont have a charge it will do about 20k if you polerity shifts make sure neg running counter clock wise to other side and positive runs clockwise to other side
For those looking for any lore about thaddius, Commander Eligor Dawnbringer in Wintergarde Keep has this to say when describing in image of him.
"Thaddius, built from the flesh of women and children, it is said that their souls are fused together - eternally bound within that foul prison of flesh."
On kazzak(eu) this boss is the hardest to kill by far due to insane lag you get when you encounter him.
Placements for Thaddius
(-) X (+)
Boss is at X.
If Negative: Stand to the left within melee range of Thaddius
If Positive: Stand to the right within melee range of Thaddius
When your polarity changes run through the middle: you have a few seconds to run before you strike other people, so take advantage and run.
lol running through the middle will not work in a 25 man raid when he does polarity shift. best way to change is to have everybody moving counter clockwise if ur polarity changed which means u always move to ur right, like driving a car u always drive on the right side of the road.
Before you understand how the fight works you will scream when you see his health. In all actuality its a relatively easy fight just tanked it last night.
Best thing about being a warrior on this boss...
When my polarity doesn't change but the people by me do, sometimes they don't get away quick enough and I guess I kill them because I get Victory Rush procs.
Though the skill says "Can only be used within 20 sec after you kill an enemy that yields experience or honor." I guess that saying is true, my enemies ARE closer...
lol running through the middle will not work in a 25 man raid when he does polarity shift.
Untrue. My first time in Naxxramas was in 25, and we ran through the boss without any problems thanks to the several seconds' window before the debuffs began clashing. Same goes for 10, unsurprisingly.
Running through the boss is simpler and faster, thus better.
To mages: Don't cast Mirror Image when you fighting with one of the mobs (Feugen or Stalagg). I have an accident when one of mine clone running to other platform with mob who I hitted on platform. That was fun wipe :)
A hint for Feugen and Stalagg, if you are running 10 man, but have a few valorous pieces say, from vault, you need to wath out. I was running 10 man on my ret pally, and just before the switch i hit a crusader strike and accidentally pulled aggro off the tank. I then got switched, and Stalagg killed me very fast. They dont switch the tanks, obviously, just the person with highest threat, or their target. So be careful.
My general gripe about this fight and Heigan is the complete lack of any "whoops" factor. You have to be perfect every time or you might as well not bother. It requires that everyone in the raid have a perfect situation with perfect latency and a decent FPS. If you don't..."BANG!" you just one-shot your raid.
This is bad design IMO. If the damage from the crossed poles were a little less or if there were a "grace period" before the damage started ticking, so if people aren't paying attention, then it would add a "whoops" factor for people who are slow or have crappy compys/connections. Yeah yeah, I know people should be paying attention, but you can't expect that any more.
Of course, I'm just probably just &*!@y since I participated/watched a raid wipe on him for 2 hours.
Saph and KT both are doable by half the raid if you blow it, but Thad is like trying to face a tank down with a slingshot and some spitwads.
My Guild has always found it much easier to just use the "Left = positive, Right = negative, and run through the center" way of doing it on 25 man.
The problem when you try to teach some clockwise 4 point system thing to a raid..That's just ADDITIONAL crap the person has to learn and can potentially mess up - on a fight where if you mess up you die and can also take others with you.
And we found that people had a hard time grasping the movement when going around him and it caused far more deaths and wipe runs than when we finally told them to just pass through the middle.
Either way this remains one of the hardest fights in Naxx probably only second to Kel (if you can call any of them hard).
For the people who miss the jump a lot you can get a mage/priest to cast levitate/slow fall on you and then run off the ledge.
It works but is not very effective. In heroic, one person on the wrong side is going to do 3600*12 = 43k damage and take the same amount so the
, which only absorbs 10k damage is going to be more than used up by the first hit. Better to just have everyone stand where they are supposed to.
BTW, I know the spell says 4500 damage. 3600 damage was assuming there was a 130 Nat. Resist aura up.
OMG 30million HP!
More HP than any NPC in WoW
wrong. Alexstrasza the Life-Binder <Queen of the Dragons> have 139M in dragon form :)
We have a very simple mantra for Thaddius: Negative Left & Run Left.
If you get a negative charge, you are on the left side of the encounter, and if your charge changes on polarity shift, then run to the left (clockwise). We never advocate running through - slow people will always wipe the raid if you try to go straight through him, but they're much less likely to hurt anybody if they're running around him.
If you need to use Rebirth in the fight:
Move out of your "charge group" (al the people whose charges match yours) first. Cast Rebirth.
The B-Rezzed person should just stay put until Thaddius changes their polarity to the same one as the side they're on (so, if they're rezzed on the Positive side, they should just stay away from the Positive group until their polarity is Positive).
The reason for this is that having no charge is pretty much the same as mixing Positive and Negative charges. The debuff says that damage is caused by being near anyone with a different charge, and not having a charge at all is pretty much the same as having a different one (maybe it could be considered a "Neutral" charge)
WTF is this above the picture it says he have 30 milion helth ...but he have 3milion helth lol
looks like frankenstein to me lol
Has anyone else noticed that, if all the negatives stand at one side of the platform and all the positives stand at the other, you essentially make the platform look like a battery?
EDIT: What's with the downrate?
Also, Thaddius has the same model as Thrym
This encounter will show you the people on your server who dont know their left from their right.
Blizzard named Algalon the Destroyer of raids...
What they forgot to do is name Thaddius The destroyer of Pugs..
i cant tell you how mant times my hopes for t7.5 helm have been dashed on this guy
I see what you did there
i've done naxx 2 days ago and we have downed him very easy, with no clockwise....raid leader told us to run THROUGH him,if we are fast enough,we will take no damage...we were all like "wtf is this guy taking us to a suicidal mision?" but we tried it and downed him the 1st try :D so if you have trouble with clockwise or counter-clockwise,though i doubt you will have problems with such things...try this it's very simple... :))
What eligor says about him is truly horrifying, the scourge must be the cruelist beings to exist.
he is by far the toughest and most unique boss i've seen. It is pretty difficult for newcomers raiding to do so u should sit them out near door. make sure u keep an eye on ur debuff cause when sign changes u got to switch size. Tough part is if someone didn't move everyone losses hp from
How does he only have an 81% drop rate for badges?
Easily the second most dangerous encounter in the Naxxramas Wings (first place being 4 horsemen encounter wich requires a bit more coordinating and player skill to survive.and third is Heigan).
If one person screws up, the entire raid is sure to either lose an entire group (or more on heroic) or have their healers stressed out until the person that screwed up either dies or switches to the right side.
The only thing you can do to prevent this is to make sure everyone gets how to rotate around Thaddius. /RW or anything else that catches peoples' attention when you explain how and when to do this.
never the less. coordinating this is no problem at all unless you have people that don't pay attention to anything and just bluntly press random buttons and hope to do some sort of h/t/dps and just blandly stare in front of them with a negative charge standing between positively charged people and blaming the healers for having him/her killed.
First defeated by Death & Taxes of Korgath on the 30th of June, 2006.
i have the best strat idea for thaddius, get yourself a guy named freightliner from chogall is all i need to say.
he didnt know fight, we told him to move to whichever charge group he had, but failed 10 times, in the end after 2 wipes, 3rd times a charm, he says
"idk i saw negative and positive so i stood in the middle." ROFLMAO. that will always crack me up.
Thaddius, built from the flesh of
women and children
, it is said that their souls are fused together - eternally bound within that foul prison of flesh.
Thaddius, a flesh prison of the many souls of slain women and children. He is being forced to obey the scourge. While is the Construct Quarter, you can hear strange random sounds that seem to stick out from Naxx backround music. They are hard to understand but it is accually Thaddius yelling...
Stuff like that. To be frank the screms are very desturbing.
Some of you may recognize Thaddius as the same creature as Thrym in Zul' Drak. Except Thrym is much bigger, and Thaddius is a more dark green.
btw if u got (-) or (+) and want to go to other group u can walk through him
The Do's and Don't's of Thaddius
- DO have a plan of how you will manage polarities (I find left = neg, right = positive, pass Thaddius on the right if you swap polarities works fine)
- DO check your debuff bar EVERY single time he swaps polarities
- DO have DBM installed
- DO try to kill the first two bosses near the same time
- DO split your dps and heals evenly on the first two bosses
- DO jump down to Thaddius after deafeating the first two bosses, instead of just walking off into the slime
- DO stack with people on your side of the the charges (even caster dpsers should be at close range to get the buff from meleers)
- DO NOT cross the charges, ever
- DO NOT pull the minibosses before the tank (This happened)
- DO NOT pull the minibosses away from their chains
- DO NOT run through Thaddius when swapping polarity sides
- DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT stand like a goon as a negative inside the group of positives, vice/versa
... or else you WILL WIPE.
Too many times have I seen groups wipe on this, not because the individual DPSes were too low, but because nobody listened to the plan and half the dpsers died before we got Thaddius down to half health. This guy has a decently short enrage, and a ton of health, so you have to take it down as fast as possible. Remember, dead dps is 0 dps.
A good plan for any group taking on Thaddius:
<------Pass (+ to -)
Neg ---- Thaddius --------- Pos
Pass (- to +) ------->
He is the one who is hard to kill in Naxx
Are you sure?
3,834,875 health on 10 man, 360 second enrage, that's 10652 DPS required. Anyone tried 3-manning this yet? I want to...
Every time i go to Thaddius i stand on wrong side on purpose cuz otherwise healers are srsly boring this fight. Theres liek no damage except he does som weird lightening move that hits a lot of people btw if you don't want to get too many hit by lightening you just spread out! Then you don't hav to worry about the plus minus thing anymore either. Sometimes u gotta wonder why no one ever thought of that before, its so simple ...............
Just 3 manned this as fury warrior, shadow priest and a blood DK tank; it's very easy, need to be ICC geared though. The shadow priest just pops heals now and then, rest is tank and spank.
Just 6-manned him (or maybe 5...not sure who died) on 25-player mode...we didn't really bother with the polarity mechanic, so the dps was not near high enough to take down his massive health pool. He berserked and we kept right on going...I guess Blizz figured a 10-minute Berserk buff would last long enough to kill any group. Not at lvl85 apparently :D It was a 17min fight overall; berserk actually fell off and he went back to hitting normally. Killed him a few seconds after that.
Solo, this is easy.
Hardest part is phase one, where you're taking a constant 6K DoT and those Wights need to die 5s apart.
Once the boss actually aggros, it's tanky-spanky.
solos by sp
this is totaly 4-man able on 25-man, you need a tank with strong Reduction CD's (pala 85 - medium LFR geared) a healer (Druid 82 - Questing geared) Strong DPS (Fury Warr 85 - Full Tire 11 HC Geared) and DPS with Healing (Elemental Shammy 85 - Full DS normal geared)
you just need to heal a bit more when he enrages
Soloed him at 381 item level on my blood dk, just because I wanted to get past gluth in solo, though, I guess 350 would be enough for thaddius himself.
The only "hard part" is the first one with the 2 adds, I always try to stay near the testa coils, so I only get 1 add spamming electric damage.
I use all cds on p1, AMS\icebound fortitude\ERW and timed my dps to kill them the same second, as p2 is literally a joke.
Enrage timer is not really a problem.
Definitely going to attempt him soon at 25, cause on enrage he hits so low that I want to see if it's survivable, but will have problems with the adds having 2,4 millions each and doing a lot of nature damage till they die.
Also 2-manned at 10 as arms warrior with an holy paladin, we also did this with different specs, I could go fury + defensive stance, he could go prot, no problems at all, each one stays on a different side; even if our dps is not balanced, first I take an add, then I get teleported to the other add, so we just bring them low till we can kill them before next teleport. Thaddius himself is a joke, could almost be solo-self-healed as fury, lol.
Bah, tried at 25, but he does more dps than razuvious 25... he hits 40-60k + 35k chain lightning... it's been soloed, but requires way more gear than mine, need 400-405 and I had 380, so survived only a few sec after the enrage (talking about tank gear, ofc).
2-manned at 25 with a holy paladin, 70k mana used during the 10 mins of enrage, plus I had full tank gear 389, and used all cds, so definitely still not enough to solo; after the enrage fades, and before it starts, it's a boring fight and also you are stuck in tank gear due to enrage, so you do way lower dps, lol.
After a lot of tries in 393 tank gear + flask of steelskin + runescroll of fortitude + 90 strength and stamina buff and many wipes at a few mins after the enrage, but 1 at 8 mins after the enrage and got a moment with some unlucky big hits, else probably could've done it, this should be soloable at 25 with enough buffs from 395-396 tank gear. Will try as soon as I get a few upgrades, it's challenging (for the 10 mins enraged) but doable.
And at last, survived the 25-man enrage (and therefore soloed the boss + shocking 25 achievement), used 394 tank gear + 450 stamina flask + runescroll of fortitude + 90 strength and stamina buff (stamina and mastery is better for this, but tell this to the empty auction house in my server, lol) + drums of forgotten kings; I had 247k hp with all this, and 141% absorb shield from the mastery, and killed him at first try, like always stacked blood shield to the max before enrage, then cycled cds so that I always had something ready, and AMS'd when I felt like a chain lightning was coming, easy to absorb some; also there's the strategy that when you get 150k damage in a few sec, then you can spam some death strikes to heal 30k each, even 42k with VB.
A bit harder than razuvious 25, for comparison, and mostly a tank gear check with cds management, fight lasted 34 mins in total.
Also avoid lichborne and death coil healing unless you have ams ready, I don't know why, but he casts ball lightning (no one in range) for 115k nature if you do!
Hmmm, the voices are scary, he has kidnaped many childrens and womans.
I wasn't sure what to expect doing this solo (monk), so I just went at the fist add. It dropped pretty fast, and the second add ran over from the other platform to me. The first add respawned a few seconds later, making it very easy to kill them both at the same time. Once they were dead, jumped down and made easy work of the boss.
I was able to solo him in 25 as a guardian druid (ilevel 487). I had nowhere near enough dps to kill him before the berserk but with frenzied regeneration and using all offensive and defensive cooldowns I managed to live through it. Took me 16 and a half minutes to kill him.
Soloable on 25-man as a prot warrior as well, and his berserk is pretty much negligible. In fact, it's a
when it happens, as the extra vengeance brings him down a bit quicker.
Seems Blizzard weren't thinking straight with this boss. Thaddius is of the "no one's in melee range, nuke people with a high damage insta-kill until they get in range" model... and yet they gave his berserk a
buff instead of attack speed?
"You have been removed from the group"
"Telerath has left the guild"
As a level 90 Fury warrior I pretty much killed this guy with white hits whilst tabbed out, does very little damage.
The hardest bit about this fight is killing the 2 adds at the same time which requires at least 2 braincells
soloed this one on 25-men as a blood DK in tank gear. ilvl 512 but i assume it's still easy on lower gear, never drop down 90% HP, most HP lost through the chain lightning ability.
note that i tried as a frost DK and failed pretty fast. Tried again as blood DK but with my DD gear thought i would do better DPS, still died after berserk, just cant restore enough HP and blood shield.
hope this help
25 man version can be soloed by a dps warriors with half-decent gear, got him down about 20s before berserk in arms spec with ilvl 516 gear and ilvl 522 weapon. Second Wind will easily keep you up.
Just solo'ed this evil piece of work on 25man. Enhance Shaman with 506 ilvl.
Make no reservations, its hard to get this boss down before enrage, you have to push your dps hard. I specced into Stone Bulwark Totem and Conductivity so I didnt have to worry about wasting Maelstrom Weapon x5 on Healing Surge all the time. The fight itself is pretty simple. P1, Stand near one tesla coil and DPS down the 2 mini-bosses. They have to die at the same time (roughly) or one respawns. Try not to use cooldowns here, however I did find myself get pushed off the ramp and into the slime, therefore my HP dropped down to about 170k, so if you need to use defensive cooldowns, do. They will most likely recharge before you need them again.
Once down to Thaddius, its kinda just a tank and spank. Stand near him so he doesnt spam Ball Lightning at you, as far as I could work out, when you're solo'ing, the negative/positive polarity nonsense doesn't you.
Stand there, and hit him, Use you're cooldowns wisely, 6min beserk, so I used my 5m CD's (Elemental and Stormlash) at about 30 seconds into the fight, so I had 30 seconds at the end to push it to try and avoid enrage.
I popped a flask mid-fight also, and an agility potion linked with ascendance.
In conclusion, dont sit there and think "crap, crap, crap 30 seconds till enrage" and he still has 5m hp left, its doable. I did it about 5/6 seconds into enrage.
For mathematicians everywhere.. 30m hp, 6 minutes. 5m hp/minute, which accounts too 83.3k dps. I did it with 78.5k OVERALL. (using Skada).
Hope this helps :)
Just soloed on 25man with a ilvl 510 ret paladin
The first two adds need to be killed at the same time. They are easy enough, use sacred shield to minimise lightning damage and avoid using cooldowns, these do not require it. As soon as they go down RUN for Thaddius. There is a short response time where he isnt attackable.
You want to get to him before he becomes attackable so that he does not throw ball lightning at you.
Once you are in melee range stay there and focus on your rotation, burn all cooldowns and go to town on the boss. do not waste holy power on word of glory. If you get desperate use lay on hands or flash of light but don't waste your holy power as dps matters.
I downed him in 6min45sec
Just soloed 25 man BM hunter 553. Basically same strat as every one else listed but for us heals is the problem. Killed the two adds. then user heavy bandage before jumping down white Thadius stood there. For some reason had to dismiss pet as he kept staying on add platform. Jumped down. Called Core Hound Popped Blood lust. Go slow DPS and keep Miss directing to pet. Don't get agro or the healing becomes a problem. Let pet chew on face and take your time.
Easy to solo on 565 boomkin. Pull the first 2 adds together so they don't resurrect. No big deal if one does resurrect though. Boss is easy burn.
I just soloed Thaddius on my lock and got the Shocking! achievement. I found the most difficult thing was to get the two guys in phase 1 down. Start with the dude on the left and bring him to ending of ramp, just off the platform. When he is about down the other dude will join, switch quickly, then it is a matter of hit, switch, hit switch. They both go down. Thaddeus was easy, I just summoned my Terrorguard at the beginning of the fight and dps'd him down. Since I wanted the shocking achieve, I kept him just to the left of center. He took me a little less than 3 minutes.
was created by the same people who nixed Karazhan Crypts because they said
it was too dark.
