You can reach the elder best from south side to keep aggro from another place NPCs low and run easy away. That keeps the problems low.

It's not most easiest and aggro free place.

Zero problems with guards while on flying mount doing this. They patrol so you could even do it without being seen by anybody.

Fly to Crossroads and he's standing @ 48.5, 59.3. He's actually INSIDE crossroads, so make sure you fly to Crossroads, easiest way to find him.

He's standing next to the wind rider master in the Crossroads area.

Beware, when I did this there was a level 85 grunt with 116K health on loan from Orgrimmar hanging around 索克 at the foot of the tower and in aggro range. She despawned a minute or so later. Perhaps Hellscream takes a less permissive attitude toward the raids on Xroads.

How to create a route for the Kalimdor Elders in Carbonite.

Click on the torch icon (Favorites) in your carbonite minimap

This brings up the notes window.

Click on the word Root on the left hand side.
Right click on the word Root.
Click on Add Folder
Name it Lunar Festival
Press Enter or click on Accept to create the new folder
Click on the new folder then right click on the new folder you just created.
Click on Add Favorite
Name this one Kalimdor Elders then press enter or click on accept.
Click on the Record button in the upper left corner of the Favorites window.
Make sure that it is red.

Enter the following lines into your chat window: (you will have to copy and paste these one at a time)

You can now Right click the Targets and rename them if you would like.

MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE STOPPED RECORDING!

Now you can click on the first one and Carbonite will automatically create a route for you to follow. If you are unsatisfied with the route, right click on your carbonite mini map window and chose Route then Current Goto Targets. This will redo the path from where you are currently.

So...WHY are there two level 85s in CROSSROADS? Seriously? I'd really like to believe the Elder's placement is coincidence, but... skeptical. Trying to get this on my Shaman (Draenei) is a pain. I get one shot by the blasted 85 Archer before I can hit accept.

Completely impossible to get this as a level 60 rogue. Getting anywhere near the NPC spawns a couple of level 85 grunts which kill with one arrow shot. This is both flying in and trying to stealth. I also waited for despawn but can't get anywhere near the elder without respawn. Giving up now which blows because this is my last elder in Kalimdor.

Given the high level mobs that are around this Elder it's very hard to complete the Moonwarden the Elder quest with Alliance characters.

The easiest way I found (as a lvl 30 toon) was to die nearby (shot with a single arrow) and then stand next to the Elder ready to resurrect. As soon as the archers attention was on someone else (another alliance guy flying in to get the quest) I resurrected and quickly completed it.

In my case I was also able to run out safely in the time I had though I wouldn't count on that.

As Alliance: Angle the camera so that your "Resurrect now?" button hovers right over the Elder. Then you have time to maneuver your cursor to those two buttons and just a hair long enough to grab that 3rd "Complete quest" button as well. You'll die, but, meh.

Only other thing I can think of would be a touch screen.

A tip for all lower level who doesn't have expert riding.
First get as close as you, and die. Once you;re a ghost wait for a higher level to aggro the guards or a friend of yours. Respawn get quest and RUN!
