I heard an airplane overhead, got a ping on my map, and as I got there, a member of the opposite faction arrived. The crate takes a while to loot, then it becomes a war supply chest. Once you get the chest, you can open it for your conquest.
As of now, in the beta, this chest spawns randomly in in the area.
The spawn time seems to be 15 minutes, if you loot it once if gives you some loot, everytime you loot it afterwards, you get a small gold reward, for me it was around 16g.
This is BfA open world pvp achievement related item
You will see
from time to time in BfA zones.
Visible as treasure chest icon on minimap.
You need to open this Crate (10 seconds cast)
This is basically good old Gurubashi arena event in open world with random spawn location
After that you can loot the reward chest
, gold, and probably something else.
Looks like you need to loot it only once (a day?), because every other time you get only small amount of gold.
Crate respawn time is around 15-20 minutes in the zone.
Speculation: You need to have Warmode ON to see it on a map and open it
Demo how War Supply Crate looks ingame
Upon interacting with the crate in Nazmir after a long channeled cast, it turned into a Horde version of a War Supply Crate.
I received at Level 111:

Before reaching the ground, the

Once it reach the ground, the crate appears on the minimap and you are now able to interract with it. If you do it, these is a cast time of nearly 8 secondes.
Once once the cast time is over the

When I looted it, I got

This chest was part of a pre-BfA event at Darkshore, and still obtainable, since the crates keep falling. You must have War Mode active.
Every 20 minutes approximately, a plane will fly over the map comming from the north. You can see and hear it.
He is going to launch a War Supply Crate with a parachute, which falls very slowly. When it reaches the ground it will be interactive and the first faction that can open it will have access to its contents. However, only the first player to open will receive the
Inside the crate there could be items of different ilvl.
So far I have seen weapons and armor from ilvl 210, 220, 225 and 250. Being possible to drop items warforged.
There are reports of ilvl 265+, but I have not seen them personally.
It seems that attending the event increases the chance of being marked with the
12 gold....gee thanks blizz
saw icon on map, noone else was around, got a 355
I keep hearing an airship fly over Boralus Harbor. Looking at the Maps attached to this, there appears to be drop points/spawn points that are not listed. I'm also noticing the crate that spawns at Waycrest Manor is not also listed above either.
The Harbor provides a slightly different challenge than the main map due to the size of the buildings and the inability to see where the crate is falling.
Is there any way we can get them to update? If anyone grabs a supply crate/chest would you mind dropping a comment with coordinates below? Trying to get everyone the information they are looking for now that the pre-launch is over... Lets go to War.
for Zuldazar need to add another location: 76, 36; the fork in the road just west of Atal'gral.
I've been camping in Vol'dun on top of the mountain at Vulpera retreat, warmode on, and doing homework in the back ground for an hour and a half. I have not heard one flying machine...
On my way to a world quest, I hear the dropship, and the crate basically came down right next to me. Never seen one before so I clicked on it, and boom! Also proc 10 Anchor Weed right next to it, talk about lucky! Dropped in
Tiragarde Sound 43,20

NPC ID is 135238. Spotted on crate in Stormsong Valley at 55.6, 70.6
The Horde can get these pretty easily since whenever they hear one flying over Dazar'alor it almost always lands a short distance away on the road that leads South from Scaletrader Post or just West of it, the furthest point being the other side of the dino-filled valley that makes up the Savagelands. Alliance players aren't so lucky with Boralus since the drops in Tirasgarde are usually in the North of the zone and the best place to camp them is the Horde outpost of Waning Glacier, I almost always see them drop just Southeast of there.
There is a way to easyly loot war supply crates when you are in the horde main hub Dazar alor , go to top level of the pyramid , wait till you hear a plane , look where the plain is heading too , then goblin glider down to that spot , demon hunters can double jump on the fire pillars near rastakhan to gain a little height advantage compared to other classes.
Seems pretty buggy in Darkshore.
Atm I saw 3 of them on minimap, but not single one was actually here...
So just was in Brennadam in SS Valley and saw the ship and watched as the crate was dropped and started falling. I quickly made my way towards it only to look back up to see how close I was and the crate was nowhere to be seen. It simply vanished in the middle of the sky and never even landed. What kind of crazy Blizzard crap is this ?
For the achievement
do you have to have Assault quests available to you to get credit or can you complete the assault while it is still up and then loot a chest? Do you have to loot the chest first? I don't seem to be getting credit for Vol'dun and it's frustrating. I've looted about 5 so far during 1 invasion.
Edit: So I'm just silly and can't read the achievement properly. I ended up finding a
after looting 5 air drops and the secret one ended up counting towards the achievement. Don't be like me and think that normal War Supply Crates count towards the achievement.
I can't find the Nazjatar crate on wowhead, but this macro may be useful. It shows whether or not you are currently eligible to loot the Nazjatar crate:
/run canNotLoot=C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(56792); if canNotLoot then e="\124cffff0000not eligible\124r" else e="\124cff00ff00eligible\124r"; end print(format("You are %s to loot the Nazjatar Supply Chest",e))
There are quite a few possible drop spots not shown on the maps for tiragarde, nazmir and a couple for drustvar. For example 2 crate spots near freehold in the water and one at the waterfall far up northwest. In drustvar one chest has a tendency to drop inside a tree at the river just a bit north of fallhaven.
