An obvious way to acquire a scorpion with the look of the unique Emberspit Scorpion (
For those unaware, there was a short period of time where Hunters, with the assistance of a Shaman and a RaF warlock, could "break in" to the instanced version of the Firelands used as part of the Shaman Order Hall Campaign. This was patched a few hours after it was discovered, and hunters who tamed a unique Scorpion got to keep it. This seems like Blizzard's way of making sure nobody is left out.
This is awesome! I've always wanted this one tamable. Even requested it to Blizz a few times. To finally see it added is great!
Previously, this model existed as one of the shapes
can take. Hunters that like fiery pets will surely be pleased.
Edit: Got mine as soon as the server came back up for patch 7.2.5. He was in one of the pools already.
Type /tar Lost and you should target it if it's is near you, to easily find it.
As of Patch 7.2.5 this will become a tamable hunter pet. They can be found in the Molten Front, which must be unlocked through
a Cataclysm quest-line
. They can be found sitting at the
bottom of one of the large lava pools
in place of other emberspit scorpions. No special mechanics are required to tame it.
Previously this was a pet that was tamable only for a short time by using a Recruit-a-friend warlock and shaman to summon a hunter into an instanced version of the Firelands during shaman class hall quest. This was shortly patched. This is Blizzards way of making the model available to other hunters
Edit: You must complete
in order to use the portal to enter the Molten Front zone. Thanks desius!
So far I've seen nothing. Has anyone out there had any luck ?
My friend tammed at 14:38 (Brazil's Time) exact.
I stay waiting respawn and tammed at 16:47 (Brazil's Time) exact.
Probly respawn 1:50 - 2:10 min.
Some said they should kill the ember scorpid around .... But it was not necessary.
I got my scorpion today on the third attempt. Missed the prior 2 tames by seconds. Alli Panda Hunter got the first one seconds before me. Second time servers crashed moments before it was supposed to spawn. By the time I was able to get back on and logged in a Horde Orc was standing there with it. I then sat around grinding leather waiting and finally tamed it on the third attempt. Spawn times were 2-2.5 hours between each spawn. First spawn was at 4:06pm eastern Second spawn was 6:21pm Eastern. My tame was at 8:47 Eastern. Screen Shots Posted. Hope this helps!
Finally spawned 5 hours 10 mins between spawns for me at 55.58 55.06 at 10:10pm est on Vashj
This will spawn in any pool
I used macro /tar lost (but NPC Scan picked it up before the macro)
NPC scan DOES work! add 123636
Just tamed him on Steamwheedle Cartel US at 08:30 hours, using target helped, I could see him on minimap but couldn't see him in front of me. LOL Kirix, Anthriss Deth'tilac and Skar were also up. Tried to tame Kirix but his mechanics still work on us but one shot kills him. :/
just tamed today on Kul Tiras US. 11:14AM 6/18/17
Seems to like that particular pool as I've seen it spawn twice there.
Just tamed this bad boy on Wyrmrest Accord - US about 40 minutes ago. Started camping at 12:30 p.m. Saw the first spawn at 2:50 p.m, which I lost to another hunter. (Congratulations to that hunter, it was an honor camping with you!)
The next spawn, which I ended up taming, was at 5:20 p.m. So, it does seem to have about a 2 - 2:30 hour spawn timer.
Mungabella was correct when they said NPC does pick it up with that ID tag. Make sure you have your target toggled on in your minimap settings. Mine was turned off and it caused me to lose the first spawn since I couldn't find it.
I did not kill any scorpions around the area so I think it's safe to say that their spawns do not effect the spawn on the Lost Emberspit.
I also paired this pet with the Regalia of the Firebird (Heroic Lookalike) transmog set. I think it looks really nice. :D
Good luck to all the hunters trying to get this super cool pet. It's totally awesome!
I just tamed him on Drenden-Arathor US at about 9:13 pm EST. It was in the lava pool right outside Solix's cave.
Tamed this guy at around 2:30 AM PST (Proudmoore), standing at location (52.04, 53.60). What surprised me was that he was hidden in the actual pool of lava and I had to tab target to be able to initiate the tame. The only reason I noticed he was there was my cursor had skipped over the lava pool in just the right spot and I noticed it's name pop up during. Neutral mob, like the rest of the scorpions in the area.
tamed on my lowbie hunter (lvl 92) on TheUnderbog(US/H)
!:23am Tuesday 27th
No one was there.
55/ 55 coord.
Picked up mine today on Silvermoon, it was just waiting in the large lava pool, and no one else around.
It was pretty much a hunter galore today, with the
Tamed the Lost Emberspit Scorpion at 11:44am EST (10:44am sever time) on Kul Tiras. I was waiting for 3.5 hrs. Good Luck All!
Tamed the Lost Emberspirit Scorpion at 11:50pm 14/07/2017. Skarr was also there, along with Ankha outside (had both already)
If you are wondering how and where to get the Lost Emberspit Scorpion, I have made an in depth video about that where I show you everything in detail
The Lost Emberspit Scorpion can be found in the Molten Front, which must be unlocked through a Cataclysm quest-line.
It can be found sitting at the bottom of one of the large lava pools in place of other Emberspit Scorpions. No special mechanics are required to tame it.
Previously this was a pet that was tamable only for a short time by using a Recruit-a-friend warlock and shaman to summon a hunter into an instanced version of the Firelands during shaman class hall quest. This was shortly patched. This is Blizzards way of making the model available to other hunters.
A handy target macro I used to tame it: /tar Lost
Molten Front quest line, click
I hope this was helpful.
If you have any questions, you can comment on the video!
I stayed up over night to "start and finish" WOW cataclysm so I could tame Lost Emberspit Scorpion. After I had access to the area needed to capture him: I watched the Video:
(The second one in suggestions) it suggested entering the NPC Code. Right after I entered the code --I by chance I was hovering over the yellow dots on my mini-map and there was the name: Lost Emberspit but it disappeared almost instantly! I hovered some more trying to find it and did, but in another lava pool and again it disappeared. I checked a few more dots on the mini-map and just as I saw his name again, (this time by the lava pool I happened to be standing by), I saw the Skull Floating above the Lava Pool (NPC Scanner went off - but after I saw it), I targeted and tamed right away. All of this happened in around 3 minutes or less. I was about to make the macro but this happened so I never made it. He is impossible to see (at least on my screen) without the Skull (which is what I used to target him). I'm not sure if it is normal for him to spawn in and then spawn and re-spawn around different lava pools so I thought I would share my experience. I feel I got really lucky (after the all nighter it was welcomed). Happy Hunting and good luck!
Just tamed this pet on Thrall (realm) at 3:56 after about 3 minutes of looking. I noticed that there were a number of hunters running round doing laps in the area *instantly thought I was screwed*. The pet itself is actually lower than the lava surface (in my case) and is no bigger than the small scorpions nearby. I simply typed "/tar Lost" and there was one literally in the pool I was next to. It might be a little easier if you dump all your other hunter trackings and just have target tracking on for your mini map. Hope this helps!
As usual make sure you have "track beast" on, when I found and tamed him he was in the bottom of a lava pool, not visible at all.
To gain access to the Molten Front:
As Tagara mentioned above, you have to complete a Cataclysm quest-line that ends with
. However, you then have to complete the follow-up dailies to get
will actually get you into the zone, and not just sitting at the portal wondering why you cannot enter it when you click it... over and over and over...
You must complete
before the scorpions will show.
This is fairly deep into the story-line for the zone.
This mob is now 110, is that on purpose or is it a bug?
Just did the quest chain to open Molten Front & Through The Gates of Hell quest. Got one in a couple minutes, in a lava pool around 52.52.
Soooo... went looking for one of these the other day and couldn't find one.
However, the regular Emberspit Scorpions in the same area are (now) tameable, but they are far from fiery.
Have they changed the skin for this?
EDIT: Caught one. It still has the fiery look, but the normal Emberspit Scorpions, although tameable, do not.
I thought it would be a big guy, so I waited for a big guy.. I shouldn´t have though.
It´s a normal sized mob, and it´s hidden in a pool.
A mage was actually fighting it as I came up to them, and he stopped immediatly to let me tame the scorpion.
Thank you Phoenix <3
My point: Don´t derp as I did :3 .
Are there any other "conditions" you need to meet, other than the respawn timer ?
Can somebody please clarify whether this is inside the Firelands raid, or outside somewhere in Mount Hyjal?
For those of us who missed Cataclysm, it's not clear what/where the "Molten Front" is. It's not on any maps, and even its Wowhead page just assumes you already know and doesn't tell you.
Tamed this beast on Arthas at 11:23 am server. Waited about an hour and a half. I was tracking beasts and using a target/skull marker macro. Found in one of the lava pools, not visible. Pulled with cobra shot, then ice trap and tame.
My fellow hunters,
Here's how I caught him. I used the SilverDragon addon to help me. I opened up the options menu (It's in your Interface Addons) Select Mobs, then Custom, and you'll see a Add box. Click it so the curser starts blinking and type in 123636. (That's the mobs ID number) Hit enter after typing or you can hit the okay button. Then just walk around the area and it will let you know if that mob shows up.
