Sian-Rottam is part of a quest from a horde only npc in Everlook he is summoned to the aid of his mate Shy-Rottam. Sian-Rottam is one of the only two cats with a with a white skin and black main. Also like Echeyakee
http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=3475
so if at level 60 you want a rare pet model and don't want to level a pet from 16 this might be the one.
Coincidently I think both these animals Sian-Rottam and Echeyakee are from horde only quest lines so getting this skin on your cat for alliance requires some co-ordination.

I stumbled upon a few Horde doing the quest mentioned above with my NE Hunter. I watched them place the meat, and summon Shy-Rotam. As mentioned, at 50% she calls her mate, Sian-Rotam. Both cats have an AoE fear effect, and can devastate a 60 clothie with its powerful attacks. Fortunately, the Horde were nice and let me place an ice trap, and attempt to tame this rare pet. I still have him today, and his name is Bane. Wonderful pet, and great story behind it.

Shy-Rotam and Echeyakee are probably harder to tame than Sian-Rotam because they are actually the objective of their respective quests, while Sian is rather an "add". That means you have to co-operate with a friend who has a Horde alt or be generally lucky (and find a quest spawn from Hordies who were rather unlucky). Note, however, that Sian-Rotam despawns after Shy is killed so if you find them accidentally they will probably be there both.

TAMING SIAN ROTAM
Why: 1) His slow speed & huge AP give this cat a devastating first blow out of Prowl.
2) Only available via Horde quest line, giving it extra clout with alliance hunters for its difficulty to obtain.
How: 1) CLEAR THE AREA of all cats. You will be feared, the adds will screw you up, especially if you're trying to tame Sian or Shy, you don't need some random cat slowing down your cast. Also, you will get the meat you need from this as well.
2) Drop the meat and lay into Shy Rotam, at 30% Sian will come out. DO NOT PULL SHY ONTO THE FROZEN LAKE!!! Doing so will result in Sian not spawning.
(Conversely, if you are horde and just wanna kill Shy, oull her to the lake so you don't have to fight Sian too.)
3) Concussive, ice trap, tame.
If you kill Shy and lose aggro on Sian, he will despawn. However, you can abandon and redo the quest for another chance.
ALLIANCE that want Sian will gladly pay Horde 70-100g for their cooperation to get this very rare for alliance pet.
good luck, enjoy

I'm looking for either an alliance player who has two accounts or a kindly horde on Bonechewer who can summon Shy-Rotam so I can tame Sian-Rotam in winterspring. I would love to tame and raise this cat, so if a fellow hunter wanted to help me out that would be great. I'm willing to pay 100 gold, or help powerlevel (loot runs) alts if you are alliance.
Please let me know either by in-game whisper/mail (name Cassadore), posting here, or contact me at: taiidanx@gmail.com

This is written for alliance hunters.
I am alliance hunter, it took me long time to get horde
to help me to get Sian-rotam as pet.
It took me 2 weeks to get the lion tamed,
But once nice, beautiful day, a group of horde agreed to help me.
When they killed Shy-rotam, Sian-rotam was summoned and
the hordes gave me space to tame it.
But Sian-rotam used scare magic on me, many times.
Suddenly I was out of mana, so I gave up.
But fiew hours later, I found one of the hordes again, and he
helped me again. He called his friends to help me.
And then I finally got it.
It is easy to tame Echeyakee (lvl 16), horde does not have to help you
with that, cause they are often alone when they summon that
lion. Echeyakee often kill the horde who summons it, and then
it's all yours.
But its differend with Sian-rotam, cause the hordes are usually
5 together, and you can be sure of one of them is healer.
As I said before, Sian-rotam uses spell to scare you.
You bust beg hordes to follow you and get them to help you,
that is the best way, but they are very fiew who wants to help you
with this (use /beg, /followme, /help, /smile, /hug and so on).
If you have patience, and can give this all day, ewen weeks,
the luck might be with you, mate.
The hordes summon Shy-rotam (the tiger) under Frostsaber rock, arround
50.0 After they kill Shy-rotam, Sian-rotam (the gray lion) will be summoned.
It's allways best to use freezing trap.
Good luck on this.

Step-by-Step Taming Sian-Rotam for Alliance Hunters
Taming this kitty is difficult at best, but definitely worth it. He is absolutely gorgeous and, untrained at level 60, had a higher DPS than Rak’shiri at 65. I am definitely looking forward to seeing what he can do once he gains some loyalty levels.
You will need to have someone from the Horde help you, as Sian-Rotam is only summoned on the third (and last) quest of an easy, three-part Horde-only quest. The chain is picked up in Everlook, from Storm Shadowhoof, beginning with Ursius of the Shardtooth (
http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=5054
). From there, it goes to Brumeran of the Chillwind (
http://www.wowhead.com/?quest=5055
), then the Shy-Rotam quest.
I tried four times with only my Horde friend helping by summoning Shy-Rotam and keeping her busy, and found it impossible to tame him. Reason: at some point during the Tame Beast cast, Sian-Rotam will, without a doubt, cast Fear on you. This interrupts the taming. Yes, you can Freeze Trap him, but it doesn’t hold him long enough. Once he’s free, almost the first thing he always does is cast Fear. And then he kills you. If you try it with just the two of you and this happens, your hopefully patient Horde friend will need to abandon the quest, pick up the quest again from Everlook and gather the meat again, then you can re-try it.
So, to save my fellow hunters some frustration (and an expensive repair bill…) here is a step by step guide on how I did this in one try, on the fifth attempt. If you follow these directions, your chances of successfully taming this beautiful cat will drastically improve.
You will need to bring with you:
1 Horde
1 other hunter with Freeze Trap
1 Dwarven Priest with Fear Ward
It’s best if the Horde helper is high level enough to handle Shy-Rotam on his/her own so that you can focus on Sian-Rotam. Also, make SURE that you are the first person to hit/damage Sian-Rotam. If someone else in your group has a sensitive trigger finger and hits him first, you will not be able to tame him and you will need to retry.
1) Clear all adds. If Sian-Rotam manages to cast Fear on you, you do NOT want to get sent into a bunch of adds, which is certainly possible with the close proximity.
2) Have the dwarven priest cast Fear Ward on you. This is a ten-minute duration that will negate Fear one time. If Sian-Rotam manages to cast Fear on you twice, you’re likely going to have to re-attempt.
3) Have your kindly Horde helper summon Shy-Rotam and begin fighting her. Do not let him/her pull Shy-Rotam to the frozen lake or Sian-Rotam will not appear.
4) When Shy-Rotam is at about 50% health, Sian-Rotam will appear from the same place that Shy did. Concussive Shot him, then drop your Freeze Trap. Once he is safely caught in your Freeze Trap, back off about five paces and begin the Tame.
5) While he is still trapped, have your other hunter approach, but make sure s/he does not touch the trapped Sian-Rotam.
6) As soon as your Freeze Trap expires, have your hunter friend drop his/her Freeze Trap on top of Sian-Rotam. He may get off a Fear cast on you between the two traps, but that’s where Fear Ward comes in handy.
7) This trap should last until the taming is complete or has only a few seconds left. If he gets a second Fear cast on you before being tamed, you will, alas, need to re-attempt.
8) Feed, feed, feed, feed. You don’t want him abandoning you after all that, just because you forgot to feed him. A few Roasted Quail makes him pretty happy. If your Horde friend is still fighting Shy-Rotam at that point, it’s also nice to help him/her finish her off.
9) Thank profusely everyone who helped you and tip, if so inclined.
I hope this helps you out, good luck and enjoy your new pet! If you have questions or need help, feel free to pst Khaza (A) on Sentinals.

Me and my brother ninjaed him away from a couple horde and here's how it happened. I'm on the wintersaber grind so I spent most of my time in winterspring and on one quest turn in I see a 55 paladin and 57 rogue trying to kill the white lion him so I kill them and whisper my brother to bring his hunter over and tame her. Anyway Sian-Rotam disappears and a couple minutes later my brother arrives and hides all the way on the left side of the map along the road leading to frostsaber rock, and because I'm a rogue I kept him posted on what's going on (his eagle eye would let the horde know there was a hunter around). After a couple minutes the horde rezed and this time they called a 70 orc dagger rogue, to help kill Sian-Rotam and add security.
So they start running around killing small tigers then go under frostsaber rock to start the summon which is where the fun began. First comes Shy-Rottam and they start fighting him then right when Sian-Rotam appeared I told my bro to move in! Needless to say the little scrimmage didn't last long and my brother began taming Sian-Rotam, first freezing trap ran out and he got feared, then not only did a feeling of "we're taking too long" set in but this hunter was out of mana and no potions! So he feinted death and put Sian-Rotam on me a bit while he drank up, finally he got up and started the taming one more time, freezing trap down, wore off, and then boom, the mighty Sian-Rotam was tamed and seconds later the horde rezed only to be greeted by my poisoned blades, brother's arrows, and new pet, Sian-Rotam!
In uncoordinated and sheer desperation to get revenge on us for stealing their lion, these 3 horde kept coming at us at half health only to be mowed down by the furry of the alliance! After slaying them each another 3 times we decided that they had enough and rode off our own ways.
The End

all cats are the same, many of these comments were made prior to patch 2.0's normalization of pet families. Basically given a level and pet family (ie Level 47 Cat) all Cats will have the exact same BASE stats as all other cats that are level 47 (keep in mind that talents/your own stats affect theirs, and natural armor/great stamina/Cobra Reflexes will affect their stats as well)
basically use whatever cat "look" you want, they are all the same at and given level

This quest is available for Alliance so there is no need to use a horde to tame it. The only special thing about this pet is it's looked due to pet normalisation attack speeds.

As of 2.3, This is an incredibly easy cat to tame solo, but it does take a bit of thought thanks to a nasty little ability of the both of them called Terrifying Roar, an AOE fear.
Step 1: Tame a throw away pet. This is a pet you will have no problem abandoning. The cats lurking right next to the rock is a good choice.
Step 2: Summon Shy-Rotam and send your throw away at them as you DPS her down. When she summons Sian, keep up the DPS and kill her.
Step 3: Drop a freezing trap and abandon your pet immedietly. Attack Sian, start taming, and let him run right into the frost trap. Thanks to it now being 20 seconds once you hit 60, you'll tame him the moment trap fades.
Step 4: Congradulate yourself. You have one of only two white lions in they entire game. Now raise him up and have some fun.

I was trying to get this on my hunter which has completed the quest.
This was on my 60 druid solo:
For testing purposes today i obtained the meat and summoned, Sian appeared.
Killed them both. Abandoned and obtained the quest and got more meat and summoned. Same result as above.
Logged out, logged on my hunter again, and had a friend come and do it, once again, both solo and Sian did not appear. My friend abandoned and obtained the quest and got more meat and summoned, this time it worked.
TLDR? Keep retrying.

I'm really into rare pets, and I just recently discovered this quest is now Alliance. I've had Rak'Shiri since lvl 57 (Now lvl 64), so I had no desire for Shy-Rotam. But Sian... what a purdy kitty.
I took the quest yesterday evening. In about 24 hours, I ground frostsabers for the sacred meat a total of about 10 hours, summoned Shy-Rotam at least 20 times, and got help from a few very kind people who stayed to help me grind for a while. After trying many times in a group, I tried one last time solo. I was ready to give up. I don't know if it was completely random or if it had to do with the technique, so I'll explain what I did incase others are having trouble spawning him as well.
I tamed one of the lvl 60 cats around to use, and attacked Shy only with the pet. I didn't even go into combat myself, I stood back well out of the range of her Fear and just waited. Maybe that was the key, keeping myself out of combat. Maybe just staying out of Shy's Fear range. Shy's health got to about 30%, she emoted for Sian, and he spawned! Abandoned the cat I had, and laid a freezing trap, which froze Shy. Tamed Sian, killed Shy in a couple seconds.
Also if you skin, this is excellent. Even if you get Sian quickly, you may want to stay and grind in that area for a while. In a day, I got five stacks of Frostsaber leather and 8 or 9 stacks of Rugged leather. And a sick white cat. A day well spent. :P

Tried to summon him today in a group of 2 alliance hunters, both with the quest, only one with the meat. Tried several times, Sian would not appear, even though his mate kept calling for him. We tried everything, standing on the summoning slab and hitting bestial wrath so we weren't feared; hitting her with a fishing rod and skinning knife so as not to kill her too fast; nothing worked.
I ticketed a GM who said that several people has reported issues with this quest and that their developers were working on a fix. He said they knew there was a problem at their end not ours. He said we could keep trying if we wanted to, or await the fix, although he didn't know when that would be. He couldn't offer any advice as to what we could do to improve our chances of success :>(

Tried five times tonight - in a party, three times solo, and no luck getting her to summon Sian - at one point, she emoted three times for him and nothing happened. We were kiting her, freeze trapping, and just taking the damage hoping he would pop but not such luck.
Had another level-59 pet tanking her - that seemed to work best for getting the emote to pop - although it wasn't guaranteed...she would emote on one attempt, and not the next even though we did things exactly the same way.
Crud.

He spawned and then despawned as soon as Shy died the first time so I had to abandon the quest and try again.
The second time I sent in my pet on Shy and didnt dps and waited for Sian. Once he spawned I set a frost trap and hit him once with auto shot and trapped him. I then dps'd Shy down, abandoned my pet and put down another frost trap - then tamed him.
I think he despawned the first time because Shy died before I hit him.
Also as a fun aside, he roars when he yawns.

i dont know if they changed it now otherwise this might be a working tactic for you.
I stood directly at the summoning stone when using the meat, then moved as close as i could against the cliff as possible and had my trash pet just slow tanking shy rotam down to 50% then on passive just taking hits. seems the closer you stand to the rock the chance is bigger he spawns, to verify i tried this tactic at lvl 70 4 times in a row and it worked each time.

For folks having problems getting this purty kitty to spawn, I suggest trying again once the realms come back on Tuesday afternoons after maintenance.
I spawned Shy-Rotam a dozen or so times this weekend, with zero cameos of Sian. I tried all of the hints posted here, Thottbot, and Allakhazam, too. But then today, the servers came back up, I went to Frostsaber Rock and he appeared on the first try.
Of course, after successfully taming Sian, I realized that I like Shy's look better. =/

I picked up Sian-Rotam as a 70 hunter. Very easy to tame with a double trap and distracting shot.
Summon his mate and she will prowl around
Drop a freezing trap
Hit her with Arcane Shot lvl 1 (So you don't do too much damage)
She'll get trapped and Sian-Rotam should show up.
If you timed this right, your trap is off cooldown when your first one is poped, drop another freezing trap and snag Sian-Rotam
If this doesn't work for you the first time, go ahead and Feign Death and let them reset, you can then very, very easily double trap and pull with distracting shot.
The up side of not killing Shy-Rotam is that you can abandon the quest and repeat it later to replace Sian-Rotam, tame 3 if you like, all trained up differently.
Note, that when I'd taimed Sian-Rotam, Shy followed us all over the place and wouldn't drop agro against Sian. Maybe they are linked somehow. I had to dismiss Sian to get out of combat.
I've linked a photo with the double trap.

My suggestion is to wait until a server reboot to try.
I attempted the quest as a lvl 70 Hunter a number of times on a Monday evening. Each attempt ended in various types of failure: sometimes Shy-Rotam would cry for her mate, other times she wouldn't at all. I tried using the various methods listed above including taming one of the local cats and standing on the stone but nothing I tried worked.
The next day brought a server downtime, and given past behaviors I had encountered with broken quests, I figured I might as well give it a try. On the very first attempt after the server came up, Shy-Rotam emoted @50% and Sian-Rotam made his appearance. Taming was pretty easy and I now have a match to Humar. :)
For the record, I also did the following:
Used a local Huntress (lvl 59) as my pet
Removed all armor/equipment to reduce the amount of damage that was done by my pet. While I was never able to get it to work prior to the server reboot, I
did
find that slowing the damage down increased the likelihood of Shy-Rotam calling her mate.
I stood on the stone. Not completely sold that this makes any difference, but hey - anything for the white Lion, right?
Hope that helps. Good luck!

if you want this to be easier on yourself bring shy rotam far away from the rocks and he wont spawn.

tamed trash pet
found meat after 7-10 kills
summoned shy-rotam, sent pet to attack(i didnt attack) and waited for 50% of her hp then she called her mate and I've abandoned trash pet.
double trapping failed as shy rotam got in 1st freezing trap before calling mate but I was lucky that sian was running behind her. So i put second trap for shy and used my trinket

on sian and tamed him.
btw i wasnt in group and i am lvl 60

For those of you interested in starting the quest to be able to summon Shy-Rotam and Sian-Rotam, it starts at
Storm Shadowhoof
in Everlook.
Ursius of the Shardtooth
is the first quest in the chain towards summoning them. After completing this quest you will receive another:
Brumeran of the Chillwind
is the second quest in the chain. After completing this quest you will receive:
Shy-Rotam
which is the quest to summon Sian-Rotam's mate,
Shy-Rotam
.
After collecting the
Sacred Frostsaber Meat
from nearby mobs at Frostsaber Rock, you will be able to summon Shy-Rotam. After summoning her, you will need to fight her down to 50% or so and then she will call for her mate Sian-Rotam.
The best bet to be able to solo tame Sian-Rotam is to tame yourself a temporary pet. Fight Shy-Rotam, either ignoring or trapping Sian-Rotam after he is summoned and get Shy-Rotam out of the picture entirely. Wait a moment after Shy-Rotam is down and then place a trap or another trap once your timer is up.
Abandon your temporary pet and start taming immediately once the attention of Sian-Rotam turns to you, allowing him to run into your trap on the way. Typically if you start taming before they hit your trap, the taming process will finish before your trap breaks. This will allow you to tame him in peace without being feared or damaged.
Also, everyone needs to keep in mind that after patch 2.3 neither of these cats are elite, so are easily soloable. Also, the quest to summon both of these cats are available to both Horde and Alliance and give no reputation when completed.
Also remember that if you turn in the quest for Shy-Rotam and Sian-Rotam after completing it, you will never be able to summon the two cats again on that character and will have to have someone else summon them for you.

Ok so I tried doing this quest at lvl 70 strictly to tame good ol' Sian. I quickly found out just trying to tame him without trapping is impossible: he fears every few seconds, very frustrating! I ended up failing the quest so I abandoned quest and got it again.
Luckily, right as I'm getting back to the lions den I run into a fellow lvl 70 hunter who had gotten the pet earlier and said she would help me! With 2 70 hunters this was A LOT easier! The hardest part was farming for the meat and making sure we didn't kill Shy before Sian had spawned.
After Sian spawns you are free to kill Sian. Proceed to trap Sian and start taming! Have the other hunter drop a trap right under the frozen lion so he is automatically re-trapped and VOILA! You have one sexy white lion!
Now the hard part:
Leveling him to 70... >.<
Mine is currently level 64 and its been a slow painful process but I have some advice for anyone who has little to no experience in lvling lower level pets.
#1 Farming - take him farming for stuff...my pet gained almost a whole level in no time at all farming for Thick Clefthoof Leather (
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25708
) from Clefthoof Bulls (
http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=17132
).
#2 Dungeons - take him along to 70 dungeons, esp. heroics! Except if your BM and the group is extremely dependant on your DPSing to be top notch. People might get a little upset.
Don't take him to raids!
He will gain very little xp and your lack of damage will hurt the group! Plus keeping him alive becomes more of a hassle than is worth.

Here goes my own Sian-Rotam story, rather disgusting experience...
I tried to tame him again 2 days ago. It was my 5th overall attempt as the previous ones ended up with Fear and "low mana"...
So I was waiting for someone with the quest, hanging in the area while
this guy with nick Luthara
appeared. We chatted a little,
I told him I was waiting for this rare lion
. Then he said bye and (kind of) left...
After couple of minutes
guy nicknamed Shamstar
appeared, obviously doing this quest. He summoned Shy-Rotam and then eventually Sian-Rotam spawned too... So I laid freezing trap and started taming. Suddenly
Luthara
appeared again (obviously being only hidden until that) and with couple of hits killed Sian-Rotam, finishing his low act with "ta da". (While his quote may sound funny he would get his lesson learnt if I knew him personally.)
If I believed in GuildMasters I would definetely report
this %^&*@
, but as I don't think anything would happen I'm only passing the story.
Yesterday I finally succeeded. Sian slept in the ice like a nice kitty (no Fear), so I'm training my own white lion these days . :)

Wow! I made it in one try!
Basic rules:
- Shy-Rotam must keep near the rock. Or summon Sian-Rotam is impossible if she is too far.
- You must keep Sian-Rotam frozen in trap when you kill Shy-Rotam. He can disappear if you don't trap him first when Shy-Rotam died. Let him not wandering around for nothing! (Aggro Sian-Rotam works too, but double fear is not nice)
- Frost trap with 20sec is very useful, but that is only for level 60 hunter. Level up first until l60, learn it and buy good gear (you need many stamina) to keep alive.
To start, put sacred meat on stone. Send your pet to Shy-Rotam. You lay now first frost trap between rock and small stone where you put meat on. The cooldown timer starts already so you wait for pet killing work. You see many fears from Shy-Rotam on your pet. But good chance she is near enough.
Just below 50% Sian-Rotam spawns. Hopefully he traps in frost trap, because he runs first to Shy-Rotam, not to you. Pull him to frost trap when needed with distracting shot (Not used here - i abandoned pet immediately, but Shy-Rotam is still alive, thus i must kill her first - but double fear from both is more heavy to kill her. Don't drop frost trap or you can trap Shy-Rotam instead of Sian-Rotam. Better wait for trapping succesfully Sian-Rotam, then abandon pet, Shy-Rotam shall come to you, kill her fast. Retrap Sian-Rotam and tame him.)
When Sian-Rotam is trapped, kill Shy-Rotam, abandon pet quick and put frost trap down for next frost trap Sian-Rotam. If you're feared after trapped, you can come time short. Drink strongest healing potion for stamina up, after fear drop frost trap again so he trapped almost immediately in. Tame it fast.
You have small luck if he doesn't fear you for some seconds when he comes free.
Then you got him! Congratulations.
Taming Shy-Rotam is easy, but Sian-Rotam is more work and thus more exclusive!
That is why i choose for Sian-Rotam.
You may complete quest first and kill both to see what happens. Learn the spawn point and kill Frostsabers again for new sacred meat. Good luck with with summoning Shy-Rotam and tame her mate. If you got him, then you can turn the quest in. NOT BEFORE!
The fear is main problem, only solution is use frost trap to tame him. Without frost trap it's impossible.
(Oh yes - did it with level 60 hunter)

I just got him tonight, very neat pet. I don't think i've ever seen an alliance member with this pet on my server (staghelm). I know atleast one hunter in my guild who will be very jelous next time we raid together, hehe.
I had trouble with various things, but i learned:
1. You must be in a group for sian-rotam to spawn! Otherwise she will call for him and he will be a no show.
2. You must keep both of them CCed while taming. The way i did this was by getting shy-rotam to summon him, and then FD. Once they are both walking around together, wyvern sting shy-rotam and then quickly freeze sian-rotam with a trap and start taming. Otherwise they will fear you. Both of them fear, so both must be CCed.
Happy hunting!

This is definitely very soloable, but not recommended below lvl 60 because of possible resists.
What I did was:
1) dismiss my pet
2) summoned Shy-Rotam, waited for Sian-Rotam to spawn
3) After Sian spawned I just used Scare Beast on Shy-Rotam and Freezing Trap on Siam-Rotam, then immediately tamed him
If you fail for some reason just use Feign Death, they'll reset but not despawn. Just heal yourself fast, drop a Freezing Trap at your feet, use fear on Shy and immediately start taming Siam even before he reaches your trap, this greately increases your chances of success.
Hope this helps.

I took me 3 tries to get this with my lv80 orc hunter, but I got him.
This isn't a walk in the park at any level, so you need to follow these basic rules if you want to tame him.
- He doesn't appear when you summon Shy-Rotam, he will only spawn AFTER she takes damage, and only when you are near the rock. the best way I found was when you place the sacred meat on the rock well stood facing east under the rock itself.
- Because you lv80, you should only need to attack her once with you range weapon. anything else will kill her right away. A bug I found was if I killed her to quickly, and she summons Sian-Rotam, he would just despawn, and you'd have to abandon the quest and start over.
- When you manage to get both her and Sian-Rotam to spawn, make sure Sian-Rotam agros you. Quickly kill Shy-Rotam. At this point have your tame beast ability ready. Both of these cats use an aoe fear spell, and it can effect even a lv80 hunter. Simply Freeze Sian-Rotam, and use tame the second he's frozen, any later and he will most likely fear you, and you need to start over.
It was a headache, but I did it.

God hell. Kind of #$%^ed at the moment, since some 57 Horde Warrior decided to "help" me by wailing on Shy-Rotam. Shadowsrage of Bleeding Hollow, I'm looking at you. You're KOS next time.
Now to the constructive part. After seeing Sian-Rotam's model, I killed them both, abandoned the quest, and scrambled back to Everlook as fast as my stubby little Dwarf legs would take me, and grabbed a throwaway pet. On my second time through, yes, I wailed on Shy-Rotam. She also summoned Sian-Rotam. What's odd, though, is that almost immediately after spawning, Sian-Rotam started to fade out. Now, I initially chalked this up to Prowl or something, but after dropping a Flare while my throwaway pet ran away under the effects of fear, Sian-Rotam didn't show up again.
I can only guess that Sian-Rotam will stick around if you don't kite Shy-Rotam, whether intentionally or not, away from the altar area.
Edit: Killing the two of them is doable on a 58 BM hunter... we'll see about taming. Back to Everlook I go....
Edit edit: God hell, forgot that I can't tame creatures above my level. On the plus side, I was able to chain Freeze Trap + Scare Beast him, inside the little cave area, which would have been a perfect setup for taming.
Now, to go and grind out another level and a half.... I want those three hours of my life back!

OK, now i just tamed sian last night and found it extremely easy. I had my white devilsaur with me but no biggy if i lost him (even tho he was a B*** to tame!)
I summoned Shy, started killin her, she summoned Sian (all on first try) i accidentaly aggroed a huntress >.< managed to kill both the huntress and shy then dropped a trap, abandoned my devilsaur and proceeded to start tame, the trap broke JUST before i finished taming and i was scared that he would fear me, but no, just ran a little more towards me, shrunk and turned invisible. HE WAS MINE!
He didnt disappear after Shy died, didnt just vanish, and he appeared first try. I dunno if this is because they fixed it in the last patch or what? I managed to do this on a lvl 60 hunter, no potions or anything. I also soloed it so it is solo-able. I hope all of you having trouble can eventually get Sian as he is beautiful, and is much rarer than even Humar on my server (caelestrasz).
For all of you planning to tame, i say good luck, and it is possible!

I got Siam without much trouble today. Level 64 with a throw away pet. Had the pet distract Shy-Rottam for a bit then put it on passive. I threw down a freezing trap, and started taming as soon as Siam hit it. I let Shy bat at me while I tamed. He unfroze, then scared me for a bit. Threw down another trap and went for it again successfully. Even helped me with Shy for the remainder of what she had.

I just tamed him today(at lvl80) with help of an alt character.
The thing is, i had already completed this quest while leveling. And if u have the same problem, one possible solution is:
to summon the quest cat with an alt that can do it.
I used my lvl80 night-elf priest.
After summoning Shy with special meat, damage (careful at high lvls ;)) her until she calls for her mate Sian. Then i shadowmelded(racial) and both cats left me alone. Quickly logged to my hunter and both kitties were right there patrolling. Did little damage to Sian(to be sure he wont despawn when i kill Shy), then kill Shy and tame Sian with freezing trap.
Tips:
use alt that can leave combat
u cant log out while in combat
both cats use fear

Wow... im a bit amazed this pet has not had many comments considering this is one of the most unique-skinned pets out there lol... well today i caught it.
For the quest i went naked since im an 80 hunter, also used aspect of viper to do more attacks yet not do much damage (did about 100-300 max damage melee btw) he popped out, tamed him followed by a feign death. dismissed him used the stable ability then tamed Shy-Rotam =)

This is actually quite a difficult tame for a level 80 hunter. Now that we have 25 stable slots, I decided this was a worthy addition and set out to tame it. The first challenge is not killing the tiger before she summons him. I ended up having to disarm myself and whack her with my bare hands. So she gets to low health, and calls the lion - yay! I used arcane shot and got ready to tame the lion, except well, he despawned when I killed his mate. I tried again thinking perhaps he had to hit me first, but again, he despawned when she died. Great. Had to rework my strategy to keep them both alive but the lion kept getting into my trap instead of her, or my fear beast would break too soon and always she feared me before I could complete the tame. I guess it would have worked eventually, was all dependent on luck, but I ended up requesting the help of an 80 mage in the area - who knows what he was doing in Winterspring... who melee'd the tiger until the tame was complete.
So for any level 80's wanting to tame this kitty, I'd advise bringing along a friend - you'll save yourself a lot of time and frustration.

I'm not sure why you had so much trouble but I just tamed him a moment ago and it couldn't have been simpler. Just hit her with your bare hands as you said and as soon as she calls her mate freeze trap her. There's plenty of time to lay one right under her before he runs up. Now just tame him while she's frozen and you're done. :)

As everyone is noting with this lion is that he isn't coming when called, but what was failed to mention is the quest chain isn't available anymore. It was taken out so the only way is for Shy to call him out. I went to Everlook to confirm that they took out the NPC that gave the quest and he isn't there with the Voodoo Troll anymore.

The qwest line still does exist but with a different NPC. There are three of them outside Everlook on a hillside with a cabin and bonfire. One gives the quests for the cats which leads to Sian-Rotam. The problem is he will not appear. I tried dropping quest and restarting also feign death all to no avail because he just would not appear when called. Someone told me quest is broken and others have said Blizzard has done away with it.

found him laying in the shallow cave under the rock (47,18, with the frostsaber trainer up on top). sleeping. he stayed asleep until i began the tame spell, then charged and attacked. It went smoothly until he began using fear on me, breaking the tame and sending me running off into the distance- repeatedly. :/ it helps if you tame or kill shy before beginning, as the two of them together won't kill higher levels before the tame is over, but they will basically keep you constantly 'feared.' :/
even with shy out of the way, i was considering using some means of sedating him when my 4th tame cast actually made it to the end of the channel cycle. :) happy days with Sian-Rotam!

This respawn information is incorrect now. I changed the original message "> 4.0.6" to "= 4.0.8"
Sian-Rotam respawn rate patch = 4.0.8
Respawn is about 24 hours, but there was a rolling restart 8 hours and 5 minutes before he appeared. So it might be an 8 hour timer.

You know, for the longest time, I got a little mad when I saw a ton of people running around with him tamed. I got him back in vanilla, when he was a horde only target (My hunter is a NE). I rolled a level one orc, and asked every hordie I could find in winterspring for help until I found one who was getting annoyed she could not solo the chain leading up to his mate. So you had this orc hunter and this NE hunter communicating thru emotes as we killed each elite leading up to her. When we finally got to her, we both got wiped out from the fear spamming (they hit like freight trains back then when you're only 60). By the time I finally completed the tame and got him, she had called in 5 of her guildmates to back us up. Those were hilarious days.... sigh, hilarious days.

As a newly 80 hunter, I recently had interest in this pet. I traveled off to Frostsaber Rock to see Shy-Rotam there. I tried to slap around Shy-Rotam, no luck. She didn't call for Sian. Right next to Shy's picture is an exclamation point. I'm guessing this is the reason for no Sian?
评论来自

Shy has a "!" next to her name because she is still part of a quest but you don't need to accept it for her to spawn.
This made me make a mistake with Sian the first time I saw him (a few weeks ago) because me being a twat did not read comments and just looked at the "Sian is spawned when you accept the Shy-rotam quest". So I did not know he is now on a timer. To be fair websites should be updated but nevermind, my bad none the less. Wow is such a huge game afterall.
So by sheer coincidence I had accepted the Shy quest and that was the first time I saw Sian. I ended up killing him as I had no room for a new pet and my plan was to abandon the quest, drop a pet in the stable and accept it again.
Then a lv 85 hunter appeared, gave me sh*t for killing Sian etc and told me about the timer. He then made fun of female gamers which narked me a bit.
Before I logged off that night some 5-6 hours later I went back to frostsaber rock with no sight of the lion... until the very moment before I pressed escape and noticed his name on the mini map next to Shy's.
So off I go to tame him, he used fear on me which sent me running into a freshly spawned Shy-Rotam, almost died, got rid of them both, killed Shy then tamed Sian-Rotam with no fear used. Well worth getting him, he is lovely, shame the rude hunter wasn't around after I got him.
Since then I have seen the Lion many times while doing my Winterspring cub dailies, yet no lv 85s. I must have been really unlucky to kill him the one time another player was about.
Also the day after I tamed Sian, Rak'shiri was walking about right in front of where my character started. Lucky!

A few months ago I tried everything I could to get him on my hunter, including the quest-chain for Shy. She called to him, but he never spawned. But today I went to do my winterspring cub daily on another toon of mine and I saw Shy walkin around and decided to see if I let her attack me for a while and hit her once (toon is an 85 DK) that he might spawn, but I doubted it. It just happened that a few floating "Zzzz"s caught my eye and I looked over and there was Sian asleep behind where Shy spawns! I quickly jumped on my hunter and froze him and killed Shy, then tamed him. He was tamed at 4:56 EST on the server Blackwater Raiders. I am now a very happy rare-pet collecter!

He is located at the big rock 47-18. If you are 53 i recommend killing the young sabers, sian will cast fear, so be sure to clear the area. In my case i icetraped sian, killed shy, then i started casting tame to sian (shy-rotam respawn pretty fast, kite sian-rotam far away from the rock). Was pretty easy to get him once i cleared everything around, he got out of the ice and started casting fear, after a couple of times i finnally got him. Hope this tips work. Happy Hunting.

Got Sian on the first try. My boyfriend was trying to get Shy, and she kept casting fear. The trick is to have someone else get aggro first, as soon as she casts fear, start taming. Because the recast timer for fear is a few seconds longer than tame, it will be done faster thus getting the pet. We now have both.

Shy is the female and Sian is the male. She's for a quest and he's just a rare spawn now, 3-6 hours for spawning.
I had to sit where Shy is walking around in stealth for 2 hours. When he spawned at the back of the cave I killed Shy and set a freezing trap for him and started to channel my tame, he ran into it and froze and I succeeded.
If I had not trapped him he would have kept setting fear on me which would of taken forever.
You basically just have to sit and wait.
Literally wait.

Sian is the mate to
Shy-Rotam
both can be easily found roaming around Winterspring's Version of the Pride Rock.
Shy is hostile so if you are not a higher level hunter who can take some damage -
do not pull both together.
I suggest you take care of Shy first (kill her or tame her) because both fear you and due to the location you will most certainly run into her paws, if you get feared by Sian.
A combination of a
Freezing Trap
and the
Glyph of Tame
and you can add them both to your collection, if you feel like it.
