Introducing the Rift Database
Our friends over at ZAM have just released their Rift database. While we know some of you don't play Rift, those of you who do play Trion's new MMORPG will appreciate the effort that ZAM has put into building this database--it's just like Wowhead, only for Rift! It has everything you've come to expect from a good database like achievements, loot, artifacts, talent trees, and quests. There's even more content on the way. So check it out and support them in their endeavor to document everything in the massive world of Telara!

Oh look, Blizzard is rehashing old content again.. or are they? I know that ZG is a "kind of a big deal" and the fact that its back is right up there on the "bigdealness" scale, so I decided to throw together a nice dungeon guide for those that are looking forward to it.. and for the noobs that can't not stand in things that kill you for some reason..
Since it's dropping prettydangcloseto raid quality gear, will those of you who aren't raiding yet focus on farming up ZG and ZA, or will you just skip it and get right to 10/25s?

, a new fantasy MMO that looks
pretty damn awesome
. Haven't heard anything about it? Well it's time to step out from under that rock, get out of that instance, stop farming those herbs and check out some of the badass features and content RIFT is promising. Will it succeed? You should be the judge. It's okay, we won't tell WoW you're cheating on it.

BFF Report - Battlestar Galactica Online
Since you more than likely can't play WoW at work, let me show you a possible time-sink alternative.. assuming you can get the unity engine installed on your corporate workstation, that is. Battlestar Galactica Online may not be the first browser based MMO, but it is easily the best looking and definitely the most basedonaTVseries'esque game playable in your Netscape (or whatever fancy browser you kids use nowadays) browser. BFF Report - StarCraft 2 - Custom Maps
If you own StarCraft 2 and are looking for a multiplayer experience that doesn't require a bajillion actions per minute, or if you are just bad, I think I've found the custom maps you've been waiting for. Outside of Left2Die needing a major difficulty buff, this is a pretty solid set of custom maps from Blizz... now sup with the DOTA mod I played at Blizzcon huh??
True story: Played a game of Starjeweled last night with Draknorr (president of ZAM) on my team and he is SO BAD OMG GET CARRIED MOAR

BFF Report - RIFT - It Has PvP.. Just like WoW!!
If you've ever been in an MMO beta, you know that everyone in it is terrible at PvP. It's not that the terrible players from current games are looking for a new MMO (although it seems like it at times), it's that players are simply testing out different facets of gameplay.
"Oh look, I can kill people!"
*keyboard turns*

*holds S until passes out*
It's the equivalent of someone grabbing the flag, running out the tunnel, making a 90 degree left and going right up the ramp. THIS IS EVERY GAME IVE PLAYED.

BFF Report - DC Universe Online
I got to play this game back at E3, and the PVP was ssiiickkk. It felt like playing Unreal Tournament (and for good reasons), but with superhero capabilities. Unfortunately, due to some weird beta quirks, I wasn't able to get involved in the gameplay aspects of the game.
The good news: John Smedley, CEO of Sony Online Entertainment, watched the show and wants to hook me up with some gametime when it goes live since beta go rough towards the end there (as they tend to do). Next week I'm going to be covering RIFT (which Im

While you guys were out having a good time with the Loot King, I was running all over the MMO-verse keeping up with the latest it had to offer. Woooo! I'm glad I got this out of the way, now I can go back to taking full advantage of the ridiculous leveling speed available right now and crank out some alts. Are you guys ready for the release? Whats the final verdict.. Reroll? Race change? PVE or rated BGs?

Thottbot Merged with Wowhead Framework
We just received this announcement from ZAM and I wanted to pass it along to you guys since some of you are probably wondering about Thottbot's future.
In a review of our World of Warcraft community sites,
ZAM Network
has decided to make some changes to the
Thottbot.com
site.
While
Wowhead will remain unaffected
, Thottbot will be sharing some of the Wowhead technology platform. A key goal was to improve the data available to the Thottbot community while retaining the Thottbot styling, navigation and community.
The following changes will occur to
thottbot.com
:
Thottbot will load its database information from Wowhead's database.
Thottbot will load its comment, screenshot, and video information from Wowhead's database.
Thottbot's blogs and forum have been closed. We will be setting up a Thottbot-specific forum on Wowhead for discussion specific to that site.
Thottbot user accounts are being deactivated. Unfortunately most of the accounts on Thottbot had no email addresses associated with them and Wowhead's technology requires an email address to register an account.
