[Discontinued] Introducing Wowhead for Diablo: D3DB
Note: this project was discontinued and is no longer affiliated with Wowhead/ZAM/Fanbyte.
Diablo III is in less than a week and we're getting
really
excited here at Wowhead. It's been a long time coming. Of course, as release date nears, we've been getting a lot of questions about Wowhead's plans for D3 since it's so closely linked to World of Warcraft.
We figured it's a good time to remind everyone that there is a Wowhead for Diablo III: Removed. A site built by Wowhead fans, it was acquired a few months ago by the Wowhead team and we've been thrilled to have these guys join our team. As launch day inches closer, their site keeps growing and there's loads of stuff to show everyone.
Some of Removed better known features are:

Get Married In-game, Set a World Record
Over at ZAM,
the whole staff is participating in setting a world record on February 14th
on RIFT. Anyone who gets hitched on Valentine's Day in RIFT will be helping RIFT set a world record of the most virtual marriages in a single day in a video game. Five of the lucky newly weds will even earn some special accolades from the RIFT devs themselves.
The idea of a MMORPG being in the book of world records is beyond cool to me and so is coming together as a community on a singular day, so I'm all for it. You can even get married using a trial version of the game.

News Round Up: 4.3.2, Darkmoon Faire, and D3DB
Due to yesterday's downtime, we were a little slow on announcing our contest winners and getting the new PTR information out. However, we should make that up with some exciting news today that has to do with Sanctuary!
Diablo III
I have some awesome news that I've been holding in for a few weeks:
D3DB has joined the ZAM Network
! These guys were heavily inspired by Wowhead when they launched their database years ago and have become the best Diablo III resource around, so it's great to see it come full circle and get to team up with them in an official capacity. We'll be working closely with them as they are a fellow Blizzard fansite. (And it's Diablo III, I mean, do you know how awesome that is?)
Darkmoon Faire
On the WoW front, there were some difficulties this month with the Darkmoon Faire; dailies were not resetting, some monthly quests didn't either. Blizzard has patched it up, though, last night.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Early Launch
For many MMORPG fans, the excitement is boiling over as the last few hours until early access to Star Wars: The Old Republic opens up. Wowhead will be quiet about it--after a quick reminder you should check out

A couple of our favorite administrators here at Wowhead have been in a galaxy far far away, toiling away overtime on a special project of ours as of late. Star Wars: The Old Republic is coming out next month and the beta has been in gear for quite some time. Many of the Wowhead staff members, myself included, have spent their share of time with the force lately and loved it. Wowhead Introduces Unified Login For Your ZAM Accounts
Wowhead and other ZAM sites (such as
TankSpot
and
ZAM
) will now feature unified login. All of your ZAM Network accounts that use the same email address will have the same master password and premium status. You can even log in to Wowhead with your email address now!
For those without other ZAM accounts, the login process will remain exactly the same.
If you have any other ZAM accounts with the same email address you will need to merge them. The merge process begins the first time you log into any of the affected sites. The first account that you log in with will set the master password for that email address. Thereafter, logging in to any other site with an account that uses the same email address will request a master password so you can merge your accounts.
If you have multiple accounts with multiple different emails, you can also now merge them into one unified account by changing your email address to match. You will be asked for your master password to authorize merging your email addresses. Changing your email address or password on any ZAM site will make similar changes on all other sites you use your unified login with.

BFF Report - Gods and Heroes - WoW Killer?
Okay, maybe not..
Gods and Heroes is a Roman Mythology based MMORPG, complete with bath houses, floating heads and all. The game is currently in beta and doesn't have an announced release date, but I'm sure it'll be sometime late summer... assuming you're looking to fill that void in your gaming regimen that's lacking in SPPPARRTTAAAAA!!!
