I was so excited for the idea of Chromietime, but if that's the way it works, I'm not anymore. That's just stupid. They should have a pop-up box when I hit level 50 that asks me if I would like to leave Chromietime. If I say no, then it should tell me I will get no experience if I stay and tell me to go find Chromie to turn it off. If I say yes, then it should give the countdown and port me back to Stormwind or Orgrimmar.
I only play old content. I do not participate in the gambling and addiction enforcing gear-loot systems. And that's why Blizzard added this feature: as punishment for those that do not do 100 mythic+ dungeons per week and thereby spending a lot of real money into wow-tokens (or, farming gold to give others that buy wow-token with real money).Chromie time is just one part of the story. The removal of "XP Elimination" to stay within the level bracket without Chromie time is the other part. Not everyone wants to reach max level in the shortest time possible. For what? The journey makes the game. And yes, I have zero interest in the "Covenant" named gambling-addiction system. And Blizzard has a huge problem with that. Paying a continued monthly subscription isn't enough anymore. They want more money.
Just disable xp and continue to level sync mobs at 50 if you have Chromie time Timewalking Campaigns on. Simple fix.For people advocating allowing 50-60 levelling in old zones, while it may make it easier, it draws people away from the current content. Nobody wants dead new zones, so I really can't see them allowing that.
I am pretty sure this is just a placeholder, to how it is actually going to end.
So it turns out that most of the community is blind - 'hooray, we have a new leveling system and Chromie, we can choose the addition and level ! "- it was enough to start PTR starting any character on level 1 and realize even without doing 50% of quests in 1 STARTING ZONE we already have 15 lvl ! - with Chromia we can talk already at 10 lvl and start, for example, Northrend (which lasts up to 30 lvl) and then crashes us to Sw / Ogri ... if someone was counting on an epic adventure then he was wrong! Leveling is wayyy too fast !
I'd like to see a pop up (maybe a quest?) saying like "You've reached 50! Good job! Azeroth needs you, but if you want to see how this turns out, feel free to continue exploring where you are. However, you won't gain any more XP. click this item to summon chromie and teleport you back to your proper time and place when you're ready."
This isn't fun, I think they should just give you quest like "Azeroth Needs You!" that gives you an Orgrimmar/Stormwind teleport but only if you choose to cast it. They could also do it like you can go back to Chromie to scale back up the content, it wont give XP, but it'll be a challenge to go through and could even give gear up to level 50.
This is a monumentally stupid idea. Plain and simple. They should just do what they did in legion and bfa and give you an automatic breadcrumb quest calling you back to the capital to go to icecrownThe only solution for lore runners like me. (I still have to do everything pre-dreanor and some legion order halls) is to lock exp at 49 and keep going. Then at 50 if your gear is lagging behind a little anywhere you can either do bfa wqs to catch up (which i probably will for rep development for professions)Or use relics of the past to scale gear up
It appears that Blizz do these stupid looking design decisions on purpose. So they can change it later with "We listen to players."Otherwise I can't believe anyone could consider THIS good idea.
This was not in any way what I thought this feature would end up being. It's one thing to make the game more accessible to new players. But handholding like that isn't necessary at all. Then again, this isn't handholding. It's like your hands are constantly held up by puppet strings and they yanking the players away without any way to avoid it.
Yeah lock XP / stop XP gains part 50 (or even let you get XP to level 50 and 99%) but ensure you have to enter SL to level further. Teleport is a no no - what if you hit 50 in a dungeon? Do you just get kicked out mid way through that?Needs a polish/reivew on this it seems
Saying this is to help new players isn’t a good excuse. Chromietime is a feature new players aren’t even allowed to use.
I dunno, I mean knowing Chromie and the bronze dragonflight yeeting you out of a time warp just when its getting interesting is certainly in character.
Instead, they should add a quest started by a talking head chromie. Something along the lines of, "I think youve learned all you can in this time, return to me to return to yours." And lets the player decide when to go back. Instead of, "Timey wimey timespace collasping, im teleporting you out, hold onto your butts!"
A simple answer here would be drop the breadcrumb quest once you hit 50, but drop the EXP up-scaling (so you get minimal amounts, but all the other rewards are untouched.) If someone is determined to go all the way to the end, they shouldn't be punished with no exp, but they shouldn't be rewarded with multiple levels - the way 'low level quests' hand out exp, you'd get a few %, but it wouldn't be enough to make the SL experience unnecessary. If some insane person decides they want to go and do every quest in the game before SL, they should be able to expect progress - just really damn slow progress.
