Sorry but I don't hate myself enough to do PvP islands... yet.
PvP islands: lol, no thanks, not even once.
If you'd read my post all the way to the end, you'd have seen why it was flawed. =)
Islands were a lot more fun then people give it credit. people approached it as a "I have to do this to fill that bar and get power" and of course they didn't enjoy it. I approached it as "there's this cool different activity where I get to kick the opposing faction's virtual butt and didn't care that much about the power gains and had a lot of fun.I enjoyed the PvE version because I'm terrible at PvP (so I'm probably not gonna work towards this achievement because it requires PvP) and got to fight the opposing faction. It was very thematic with the expansion.
Man, I tried to do PvP islands with my friends when the three of us hopped on a month ago. I'm not exaggerating when I say that PvP islands are a big part of why both of my friends gave up and unsubbedWe went in there with full sets of ilvl 440 gear that we'd very painstakingly farmed over 60+ hours each, and everyone we came across in 3 rounds in a row was INSANELY tougher than we were. I haven't seen anything this unbalanced since Classic WoW back in 2006. It was like we were wearing quest greens vs fully-equipped mythic raiders. I don't know what gear they had, but any individual one of these guys had 800k+ HP (vs our 300-500k) and did more damage than the three of us put together. There was NO skill aspect, it was complete BS. I thought this was going to be like Legion, where gear could give you a 20% edge over people but there was skill involved still. Nope. One of the dudes was keyboard turning and laughing at us while cutting us down.. we only managed to get one kill on him after zerging him 3v1 for 2+ minutes.Terrible. Why should we bother with this crap when we could play Apex or Fortnite or another game where we have an actual chance to win?
