it looks like &*!@, it doesnt have the charm of the original.
Ooo I love that they gave him a unique model for it
I hope it gets its own name
I prefer my Paladin´s green Ashbringer from Legion Order Halls.
It's obviously not the REAL Ashbringer, but a replica, hell I'm sure if Thrall ever died before losing his Doomhammer, he would've gotten a Hammer made in the same vein as the Doomhammer. Whatever the case it. This is obviously a nod to the weapon and it fits, because seeing Alexandros with any weapon besides a weapon like the Ashbringer would feel odd.
Why Blizzard ALWAYS gives the cool armor models and weapons to NPC's? Npc's armors and weapons always look full of details and cool things, look at this sword.. look at lor'themar armor and weapon and then look at belf heritage armor legs and boots.. c'mon. They always give players some armors with TONS of effects and flashy things instead of a high quality simple armor with nice details that looks somewhat realistic. I'm not complaining about Shadowlands xpac tho, everything looks good so far, but I wish they'd do more stuff like this sword instead of HUGE weapons with crazy effects that make no sense.
I guess the answer is it's not an Ashbringer at all, just a sword crafted according to Alexandros's memories or so. Those guys can probably see into the living world, not very hard for Maldraxxus armsmiths to make something like this.
im guessing its just a custom crafted blade to have the theme of the blade he wore in life not the real deal just inspired by it it would be cool if there where some sort of special interaction between him and players who now carries the real version of the ashbringer
Weapons don't "die" with their wielder. When Alexandros Mograine died, he most likely reached Shadowlands completely naked. Everything he posses, was crafted IN shadowlands. So, he doesn't have THE Ashbringer, he most likely has AN Ashbringer.
How is this hard for people to understand....Blacksmiths said "hey whats your fighting style/what do you want your weapon to look like"Alwxandros: "well see i had this sword...."Its not an ashbringer. Its just a replica lorewise
To be completely honest I think the main reason why Alexandros Mograine wields a ''Necromatic Ashbringer'' is to make it easier APPEARANCE wise to tell the story that he used to be the wielder of Ashbringer. Most people likely do not remember or even know who he was before facing him in Shadowlands so this make the connection a bit easier. In the end it isn't the actual Ashbringer but a Shadowlands crafted replica.
DARION you found your dad! Awwwww man that's great! maybe he'll fight along side the Ebon Blade! Or the Ebon Blade will devote their whole numbers to which ever Andros serves. New Death knight lore/storyline is GOOD.
"So it was that over the course of time, the man and the weapon seemed as one. Ashbringer became a name of legend, attributed not just to the fearsome blade but also to the relentless knight who wielded it."He doesn't wield a lookalike/copy. He wields the Ashbringer because he is the Ashbringer.
guessing that baby took a butt-ton of fishing.
how can people say its not asbringer, its just a weapon from maldraxxi really then why under hes name(alexandros) he have the subtitle The Ashbringer lul..its super sad they ruin some lore with these stuff they could just simple make a new weapon model and done ..
Reason why his title is ''The Ashbringer'' is because that was his title in life, he and the blade both were known as the Ashbringer.Reason why they are adding a ''Maldraxxi Ashbringer'' is to explain the story with him easier to the average player.90% of the current player base likely wouldn't understand who he is and why he is called the Ashbringer if he doesn't hold a replica of the weapon. This is not a retcon. So in the end it is to easier explain the story to the players really.
