Calia doesn't know what it means to be Forsaken. She never served as a mindless slave, been freed, and have years to experience the hardships, hate, and complex choices that are part of the journey we took all these years. She is not the right one to lead the Forsaken!
Eh... for those of you who doesn't know this but... Calia isn't an Alliance character. In fact, she is neither Horde nor Alliance - she's Lordaeronian. Her story in BfA has been primarily with the Alliance but... that's because of her part of the pre-BFA story in Before the Storm, where Sylvanas killed her for being an usurper. To put it bluntly... if one is truly a fan of the Forsaken, then having Calia Menethil - the long lost leader of Lordearon, should be a godsend since most of those who were raised in Lordaeron come from... Lordaeron.Calia is NOT an Alliance character.Nor is she a Horde character.... she's a priest, whose last name is Menethil. That's about all there is to it, besides her being brought back by Alonsus Faol and Anduin, whilst in the presence of the Naaru in Netherlight Temple.
NO LIGHT FORSAKEN AR, *exhales* that felt good. Suck it Alliance!
I wonder what will happen to de Kaldorei dark rangers & Delaryn summermoon
Calia helping out the Forsaken? No thanks. Blizzard please stop with the out of season jokes.
Once again a person from the Menethil bloodline will reins in Lordareon
keep your alliance characters out of the horde, if this goes through think I'm actually just going to be done, the little bit of me that still cared about story is all that kept me playing but if they're going to start this slow 1 faction merge i'm done. And before any of you say she's not a alliance character, sure technically and technically Rexxar isn't a horde character.....she just spends all her time with alliance characters, and hanging out in alliance cities and towns, etc etc. seriously lets not get into semantics.
"I am Calia Menethil of Lordaeron" - oof. the shivers I got from this. It's how it should be - an undead elf ruling the forsaken, humans of lordaeron, never sat right with me. Calia is the true Queen of Lordaeron and the Forsaken - they have their identity back finally. It's who they were and who ruled them before they were all turned.
Blizzard Trashed both the forsaken and night elves in 1 expansion I guess that is really good accomplishment.
It seems the Forsaken are getting an actual Queen after all these years.
This also makes sense in our own history. Mixing leadership (usually by marriage) is a time-honored way to stick to alliances. (Until family starts killing family... there's that too).
I mean am shocked people are saying Calia is a bad choice for the leader of the Forsaken. Forsaken come from Lordaeron and Calia was one of the royal family. Yes, Arthas forced them all into their current torment but it was JUST Arthas, not all the Menethils. The forsaken will have good memories of her from their former lives and she isn't Alliance, she is just a priest. Hence why in BtS Sylvannas could kill her because she wasn't Alliance and therefore could stand up to lead the Forsaken. As for Derek, eh I have no strong opinions so I will see where that leads. I can very much see Voss now being a Shaw or Nathanos character standing at the queen's side and dealing with any problem where subterfuge is needed. Also for those winging about Voss being pro-Forsaken. If you played the quests from Cata yes in the Starting zone she is anti-Forsaken as the quests progress through Tirasfall she grows more and more accepting of her fate and working with the Forsaken. In the Pandaria dungeons, she strictly seems to be only opposed to the Scourge and Scarlets. Considering that since Pandaria about 3ish years has passed in-game is reasonable she would be ok with the Forsaken at that point.
The idea of Calia going Horde seems a bit rubbish, but her leading the Forsaken could work.IDK, there seems to be a parallel happening with Nigth Elves and Forsaken possible going neutral, with independent groups lead by Tyrande and Calia, and still aligned ones with Shandris (A) and Lillian (H)It really looks like the stepping stones for a bigger change coming.
