Dont think this will happen. Remember what happened at Blizzcon last year and the stock prices afterwards?
Since WoW is so popular there it makes sense they launch a phone edition to celebrate 15 years (that's what the post suggests).
It's been well known that they've been developing a Warcraft AR game in the vein of Pokemon Go. I'd be shocked if we didn't see it at Blizzcon.
I'm pretty sure other brands and products manage to do tie-ins and crossover promotions without it turning into a big conspiracy on new future products...It's a phone in a WoW-themed shell. I'd be surprised if there was more to it than that.

No. The reason you might see a login name offered as a phone number instead of an email is for one simple reason. China. In China, email addresses are not used in the same way the rest of the world does for login username purposes. Instead, phone numbers-as-usernames are far more common. This just points to blizz supporting more accommodating login and authentication models that suit the China market more appropriately. Postulating on a wow mobile client without further evidence than that, is akin to click bait.
It could be an auto chess derivative based in warcraft tbh, given HoTS as a "brand" of many of their own characters ain't hot at all for them to capitalize on that end.
I really hope this gets released globally.
It just may be a Collectors edition for the 15 years of Warcraft anniversary
We had other WoW branded stuff before that didn't come with a new game. I don't see the connection.
Anyone seen/played Raid: Shadow Legends? Maybe their possibly aiming for a game like that on the mobile?
Oh god, rip future WoW expansions.
Going back to the actual phones I think they are pretty disappointing:According to first reveal videos on Youtube the only World of Warcraft styled stuff you get with these devices are the packaging and some wallpaper/theme on the OS (if it is the OS, could also be just the lockscreen or something), the hardware itself has no special features - no special colors (like "Horde Red" or "Alliance Blue" with golden aluminium frame) or logos of any kind. If you just see the phone laying around without the packing or active screen, you'd never know you look at a WoW branded item. While I am not interested in these phones anyways, as someboday who is actually collecting some WoW stuff every now and then, I would be disappointed by these.
This sperg toward Blizzard and mobile gaming will only end when they use the meme "Do you guys not have phones?" themselves.
I dunno about the rest, but seems like Blizzard has as 'slam-dunk' a copyright infringement/IP theft case as one can get with Glorious Saga. They're not even trying to alter the designs a bit to get it past the lawyers--Varian in Glorious Saga is even named 'Stormwind King.'
I'm betting it's going to be one of those Auto Chess games, like Riot's and a few others that were featured in Game Informer magazine this month. The author even suggested Blizzard should make one, because one of the features is merging low-level units into a better one and the example he came up with was merging three orc units into one Thrall unit. Some of the other games have cross-platform play, I think, so it will either be all mobile or on tablets and PC's like Hearthstone.I don't really mind if it is a mobile game like this. Warcraft has a lot of characters, and story, and I think it is beneficial to the IP to spread across new game modes and new audiences.
