Man why do i always miss out on these fun things? There has been a lot of these things lately and some are punished while others are not. The gross inconcistency annoys me. i got that 50k AP thing from Island Expedition when it happend and they took it back, was no exploit on my part.

This sounds like the game mechanics issue that happened in the lich king fight, where people used the saronite bombs. Whatever, if you cheat or use exploits then you deserve the temp ban. That's just my opinion anyway, my 2 copper takeaway.
Overall, this seems more like a synrdrome of a greater problem, the Leveling is DULL and boring, and you dont realy get any items leveling with heirlooms on, nor do you realy get new abilities or anything that makes you feel as if you're making progress, heck your stat procentages go down even, you get weaker every level, there's no talent-point per level that makes it feel as if you're actualy progressing. It's just broken, Leveling realy doesnt serve a function these days as opposed to just being a tedious filler.(And no im not banned, i got my Zandalari to lvl 35 on launch day, then got bored)
Preacher? He got a 31 day ban.
wow I spend hours in this game and I had no clue this storm of pain was going on around me... i just logged on to an empty guild last night and wondered why it was so quiet in game... thought it was some american holiday or something... turns out bans were being dished out ... :( I enjoy leveling, I have too many alts and even though i'd heard about the potion of ten lands or whatever I have never used it nor felt the need to use it. I actually feel I level too fast sometimes. Are those players getting bans the same who ask for Classic? because Classic is even slower at leveling. I read here that someone used the potions to level from 16-32? is that even worth it? looting herbs and mining while questing and dungeons gets you past that bracket and it's not even a hard bracket. People complain far too much about how hard the game is. My main beef is how I am so poor in game. I don't want to have to play the auction house to have enough for repairs, plus I have no clue how to play the auction house. I fished and sold some stuff. But i can't 'flip items' like the youtubers say and i find that boring. Please blizzard make it so I can enjoy being out in the world of warcraft rather than sitting in auction house looking at lines of items for hours. i only do dungeons if there is a healer bag up because then i get 900g that covers my £400-500 repairs. I didn't know that if i don't loot in dungeons i don't get the gold from mobs. before a party member loots and it's shared. seriously i can understand items being just for you but the gold too? so far it's not worth me dungeoning with pugs unless i get a bag.
To suspend absolutely everyone's account for seemingly arbitrary amounts of time, hitting some extra hard and missing some, again seemingly arbitrarily. For (mis)use of a mostly harmless bug that doesn't impact anyone else. Seems like a massive overreaction from Blizz. Had it been Azerite or free 120 loot like Ivus, or anything else that actually impacts the game and gives people an unfair advantage, I'd have been on board. But no, not in this case.I heard about the Ivus bug. Didn't even think twice about it. Now that is an exploit that gives players an unfair advantage. Making your low level character a bit stronger and getting some faster levels? Just sounds like heirlooms and refer-a-friend to me. And you actually have to buy the potions. It was actually a lot of fun for the 1 hour I used it to get from 40 to 60. Hadn't had that much fun while levelling in a while, for that 1 hour it just felt like the level scaling was reverted more or less back to MoP times. I do recall myself saying "I'd be VERY surprised if I see any negative consequence from this.". This being a day after it had been reported and Blizz was still completely silent on the issue.So...when are the potion timers getting fixed?
I don't have much sympathy for those who think that leveling is a "horrible chore". Blizzard has nerfed leveling several times. Leveling puts players in contact with the various continents and zones of the world, provides a basic knowledge of the lore of the game and makes players better citizens of Azeroth. It may be time consuming and difficult to schedule when one is trying to work a max-level main but the specific quests required for other classes need to be run and absorbed into a player's knowledge and experience. That said, the critique of Blizzard for ballocksing up the Draught of Ten Lands is well deserved. Blizzard has been jettisoning staff for years with the result that quality of work and quality control of that work has suffered. In a small, barely consequential instance of such short sighted elimination of experienced and knowledgeable staff you get the Draught of Ten Lands glitch. In a larger context you get the Boeing 737 Max. The old adage is "penny wise and pound foolish" the applicable statement is that Blizzard needs to stop "down-sizing" and hire better people while keeping the experienced staff it already has.Now that I've pointed out the basic problem, I think that Blizzard has acknowledged their fault by making the bans relatively short. Even a full month is not long regardless of the distress and discomfort to the very few who exploited this glitch. Just as Blizzard knows that jettisoning staff makes glitches like this one more likely, so the players who abused the Draught knew that they were pushing their luck with each use. They got caught. Getting angry that they now have to suffer the consequences of abusing that glitch is simply bratty behavior.
