You think you want gear vendors with targetable rewards instead of RNG loot distribution. But you really don't.
Wait for Timewalking week, spam dungeons, use timewalking badges to get 350 ilevel at 120 in a matter of seconds, then do 5 more dungeons and get a current raid tier piece. Fill in with now current WQ's. (and if you're lucky, grab some of those 'useless' timewalking pieces that aren't azuritey but still have a good ilevel)Or spend the same amount of time for maybe 3 pieces of 282 gear?Yer kiddin...right?
This is so exasperating. 20 coins for each piece? This is levelling gear - intended to be replaced almost immediately, either by levelling further or from dungeons/WQs. Make it one coin a piece and it might just fulfill its purpose.
...or, instead of wasting dubloons, we could just upgrade heirlooms, and get to keep them for more alts afterwards. And then buy proper gear at cap. For the slots that aren't covered by heirlooms, eh, the AH is there. Mid-level greens shouldn't be hard to get.Dubloon drop rate is bad already, and the actual rewards we get to keep that we buy with dubloons (mounts etc) are what I'd class as "stupidly expensive" given the drop rate. Hell no I'm not gonna waste 20 dubloons each on this stuff. Even alts' dubloons are spoken for, because while my main and my primary alt grind away at the mounts, alts save up for the pets, toys, etc.
Incredibly lame. Were they actually Heirlooms they would be worth the tokens. Yet again, Blizzard shows that they are out of touch with what players want.
Tbh, Dubloons drop rate isn't that bad if your performace is good... but there is no way to tell if you are doing good or bad. Sometimes I recive almost no rewards for carrying lowbies and de facto solo winning expedition, sometimes I got enormous rewards just for derping and running after other party members. And what's even counting for performace on Expedition? Amount of Azerite picked up? Damage done to mobs? Number of killing blows? Participation in kills?Expeditions really need meter of some sort, which would count your progress and show threshholds you need to reach to get reward (or at least chance for reward). And clearer rules for rewards. Doubt those gear tokens would attract many people, ilvl is way too low for it to be serious alternative for standard leveling...
Similar to quest rewards LOL. Quest rewards are usually absolutely garbage and less than what you already have. Thanks Blizz.
the ilevel for fresh 120 is too low i say (base should be around 310 with WF/TF up to 370ish).if you have the money in ggame you can buy the pvp gear off the AH and that is base 340 (i think)
I can't imagine many wanna waste their dubloons on this shoddy gear. Why didn't they make it a random bonus reward? That would also let people to earn a few extra gold from IE's.
You guys, the gear is for people who level exclusively through IE's (so no quest gear). If you are happy to buy gear with gold cool, not everyone does.
So they are trying to address the issue of no gear if you choose to level solely through Islands. And again they demonstrate, like with everything this expansion, they just don't know how to keep things balanced. Maybe if those tokens also dropped directly, then that would make more sense, but my long time experience from capping my main every week for AP is that I get between 4-10 dubloons per weekly cap, making it 1-2,5 dubloons per run. This also represents a significant nerf that happened when 8.1 dropped - I was getting 6-20 dubloons per cap before, even though more runs were needed before that patch. Assuming this rate stays, to gear myself as I level in there I'd need way more dubloons that I am likely to get... so it's like they are showing me a big middle finger. Like a teen, huffily doing what his parents tell him to do after a telling-off: "so I have to do it now, but I'll make sure you see I'm doing it because I'm forced to, and if I can sabotage you, I will".Good heavens, heads need to roll badly.
Oh Blizzard. You just can't help yourself, can you? You've Removed every single aspect of this feature, and you just keep digging the hole deeper and deeper."Gear issues" wasn't even a top 5 problem for Islands, a feature with nothing but problems:
I don't like this, no thanks. The dubloons are too much RNG to think it worth all the things that the vendor has. I'm actually going for the mount of 1000 and I started in december, long grind :/ .I really hope for the devs to make the dubloons to be account wide or another idea is for the map that gives you after you compete the bar, to get 40~80 dubloons (I wish for 100 but that too much to ask I guess? haha), another option, put an "special island" only of this currency to get (absurd but it's just an idea). My point is: this money is hard to get (rng), the items demand lots of them and only a few things worth them
Seem's like a whole lot of nothing when certain classes can run 110's through freehold for 2-3 hours right now and ding them to 120. Maybe make the ilvl higher for fresh 120's but not by an absurd amount.
