They really need an Embrace of Jani, something like able to scrap anywhere.
These pallys are gonna be a lot more damaging than my human pal
People complain about this, but it puts it more in line with other racials. For other classes, they have one set racial that will benefit some specs more than others. Having a 5 day cool down means that you will need ot be pick one, and accept it will benefit some specs more than others. You guys still have the luxury of being able to change it, even if it isn't ideal; that 1% loss 50% of the time should be worth the boost during the rest of the time.
As someone who was worried you'd be stuck with one Loa upon character creation (which is a pain for those of us who play multiple specs and wouldn't have much use for some of these Loa), but also felt being able to change your Loa on the fly didn't fit with the lore, I think this is a great compromise! And I love that the shrines will still have use post-BfA. :D
you can't embrace the turtle loa? who... okay i won't spoil it. but yeah its still around.
I hope they add a shrine to Hir'eek out in Nazmir somewhere.
It’s amazing. The tastiest, most flavorful racial in game. Lorewise it fits perfectly and mechanically it’s ideal. Zandalari can choose their racial buff according to their role in a group or personal preference. I couldn’t ask for better ability! As for a long cooldown, I actually feel glad for it being that long. Your character literally switches between Gods, people. Be happy that there even is a cooldown, it could have been permanent!
I think people are seeing these and thinking, omg, those damage ones must be doing so much damage. But look at the speed increase. 5% is not a lot. The others won't be a lot either. While I do think the CD should go down to 1 day, I think people are missing the obvious RPG nature of these racials.Someone on Twitter said this is like changing their religion - I agree in part. This is changing the cult to which you belong, within a larger "religion" - think Greek Gods having seperate cults. No one doubted that all the gods existed, but you dedicated yourself to one.The Zandalari as a whole were the priestly caste of trolls - while being isolated has made them more than that, they all have a deeper connection to the loa than others.Having these buffs on a large cool down makes sense. And they likely won't be that powerful, if the movespeed buff indicates. I'll bet it won't stack with paladin passive speed buff - it won't be that important. But like, be glad it can be changed at all without some cost. Sure it has a CD, but this is like, tearing out a piece of your character's identity and replacing it. It should have impact, and consequences - think of the CD as "all the other loa won't accept your oaths now, for a while, because you just betrayed your old one".
Definitely great to see how detailed they've made this racial and how it actually makes it feel like you're doing something that the Zandalari actually practice. Dare I say, you're actually partaking in proper rpg in an rpg.I wouldn't be surprised if this got nerfed back to its previous "push the button once every 5 days" because I'm sure we'll see endless whining about "inconvenience."Keep this theme up Blizz. Put the RPG back in this game.
Should be easy enough to get the buff of your choice while leveling, assuming we get a portal right away to the city like other allied races. Very excited to make my dino-druid. or do I make a paladin? or both? Gonna have to delete some unused alts to make room.
Definitely making me a Zandalari Druid, so guess I'm going Gonk, the Loa of the Raptari, the Loa of Shapes!
Hmm, guess I'll just go crit then. No way I'm taking anything role specific on a hybrid when there's a 5 day CD. Should be 1 hour max. Get out of here with your RP...
Ok, keep your rp racial but add to it. I want to be able to build trash pile for my master Jani anywhere in the world from grey items in my inventory. May his glory spread.
