i wish for a revamp of wrath more than classic or bc. wrath was the best. Even tho i have amazing memories of BC since that is when i started, I loved everything about wrath. It is when i had the most fun, how guilds functioned as a more cohesive group is sorely missed. I guess i could drivel on and on, but yeah Wrath was my fave.
I joined in shortly after WoD launched. Had a great time with that expansion, so not really sure if the whiners are just trolling. When I was leveling in WoTLK at the time, there were a bunch of quest bugs that left them unfinished until a couple years later with the bugfixes. Hard to believe it's been 4 years since WoD launched, though! Crazy but fun times!
For me, Warlords had a very strong start. The leveling was some of the best leveling of any expansion, an awesome story in the beginning, the garrison was a novel idea and had the potential to be fun and interesting, and the dungeons were really, really well made. But... then there was the end game. They skipped a full tier of content and made the story feel rushed and the world felt unfinished. Garrisons became a chore. There was nothing outside of raiding, or maybe Ashran, to really focus on for a long period of time. And we got what... one new raid and Tanaan Jungle? For the whole expansion? Where the hell was Farahlon? Where was the build up to Gul'dan taking over the Iron Horde? How did we suddenly jump to Grommash being a damsel in distress? Warlords had so much potential. I really wanted to like it and there are parts that I still do like, but overall I think it was Blizzards worst expansion to date. But hey, I did get a nifty in-game selfie camera...
I started playing WoW during 3.1, so needless to say I have some massive nostalgia over Wrath. My defining memory of it was hitting 80 somewhere in Storm Peaks, and my guild had started poking their head into Ulduar by doing Flame Leviathan, and they needed someone to man one of the guns on one of the vehicles, and I was elected over my protests of being under geared for it. (I figured out quickly that someone hiding in a vehicle shooting guns didn't NEED to be all that geared.)I suspect that one reason I was invited was to prank me by launching me to take out the turrets on FL, but within an hour of hitting 80 I'd gotten the achievement for doing that and had killed my first raid boss in WoW. Good times. My favorite moment in Warlords? Was when 7.0 dropped and everyone, en masse, moved back to the Shrines to GTFO of Draenor. That expansion was a disaster.
A great expansion shares its bday with the worst expansion. Its like having that conjoined twin from Total Recall attached to you.
After playing BfA, I realized I actually enjoyed WoD a lot. It was not as bad as people paints it, even tho the major flaws are clear... The start was great, too bad Blizzard lost the tracks afterwards, could've been one of the better xpacs. BfA is the first time since I started playing WoW that I prefer to lvl toons and hunt old stuff than doing current content.
i really enjoy WotLK get full in to the lore was so much fun than just DPS meters, WoD was just for the money
Wrath was the one and only game I reserved and picked up at midnight so I could get playing right away. In hindsight, it probably was the best expansion overall, even though admittedly I've come to enjoy the game more now than I ever have before. Still, Northrend is quite an amazing zone and the storyline was very good.
Cool... where's the in-game event and wowhead blog-post coverage?
