You can't start a revolution if you're dead. Read the flavor text of the item itself.
Check yourself with regards to the complaints of the Horde getting something while Alliance doesn't. Alliance got the whole storyline with Jaina that caps off the Kul Tiras questing. It was a good storyline, atmospheric and really emotional-feeling in a way WoW usually doesn't risk. This has about the same idea...albeit a little less intimate and without the really stupid requirement of running a mythic-only dungeon to see it through to the end. All in all, everything about this is alright. Although, Garrosh was still a way more entertaining villain than Sylvanas, by virtue of the fact there are still players clinging desperately to the belief that Sylvanas is not, in fact, a complete villain to the point of nonsensicality. (Guys, she is.)
Can't wait to finally get Sylvanas what she deserves - a twin blade in her rotting gut. Let's finish what Arthas didn't.
this storyline is absurd, hunt down and kill the traitor, not hunt down and defend him. i support sylvanas 100% and now i have to go against her? either make the forsaken a 3rd faction or fix the story writing because its flawed
But guys, you can choose not to betray her. There is an option. You can choose "I won't betray my warchief" and then you have to go back to Sylvanas and report Sarufang's location, then she tells you the truth that she wants to kill him.
It's important to note, that this quest line ends in 8.1, with no continuation in 8.1.5 and no apparently plans to continue this quest line further.
Just a few weeks ago I ran my horde toon from 110 to max and have been working on faction rep and the WC since. Did I somehow miss this questline? I can find no way to pick it up and I'm 99.999% I never did it as the toon was a boost. I've completed the WC and earned Two Sides to Every Tale and no breadcrumb to talk with Sylvanas. Also to note, I still see Derek Proudmoore's body in the casket on the deck of the Banshee's Wail...I'm so turned around right now. If I've completed the WC, shouldn't his body be gone since <spoiler> Baine returned it to Jaina?
I chose not to betray my warchief. I believe I did it all correctly, and there's no toy. But this all made little sense-- why ask this of the Horde? Poorly done.
