Sounds more like their just making more stuff streamlined and making it all super simple for the more simple players.sigh...
We need to keep in mind, concerning loot wars, that all gear will be re-itemized and this will be retroactive on present gear. The handling of loot between classes will come from a re-itemization. There may be two mail pieces with agility which both Hunters and Shaman may be able to wear, but it will not be like current situations in which there is only a couple of best in slot items to argue over. These itemization changes will, in all likelihood, prove to reduce the number of vastly different gear pieces. There will be more variety without specificity. That is, more than one way to get an awesome item to prevent such flame-baited drops. Like the way the game was originally, but five times better because Blizzard now has experience in itemization and dozens of dungeons to provide many such drops.
Is it just me or does it seem like the warrior class is getting bent over and shown the buisness end of a pool stick (with no lube) on this up coming expansion? Also are the land changes going to be instant once uploading the new expansion? Just seems kind of stupid because people who are just starting out are going to have to buy not only the game but 3 expansions just to get all of the content and even then its changing so fast before their eyes that I think some people will get frusterated and not even bother playing. What they should do for the massive land changes is make a quest chain at a certain level that all of this happens . Anyway thats my two cents on all of this as im understanding it. I will give the new expansion a chance but if I cant get into it I might just sell my account to some chinese kid lol

Buh buh buh buh buh, I'm lovin' it!
I like the idea. It was getting a nightmare to cap ar balance so many stats. As a tank i have defence, hit rating, expertise to cap, Parry, Dodge Block, block value to balance and i must increase, strenght and stamina to boost. Attack power also important to boost dps and keep aggro. Now it is all much more simple but still challenging and customizable. Well done, i can't wait for it.
I think when Patch 4.0 hits, it's going to change EVERYTHING regardless of whether we have the expansion installed or not--much like how Patch 3.0 implemented various new things (login screen, inscription, zeppelin towers, barbershop, etc) even though the WotLK expansion hadn't hit the stores yet. While I look forward to the new stuff, I fear it will be the mother of all patch days.
I would think that these geography changes would occur before release, similar to 2.4. Possibly some sort of opening even where the cataclysm takes place. Doubt theyd just thrust the changes on overnight.
As a protection pally *happy dance* about defense being gone. So it will now actually be a case of making more meaningful gear choices...not stack to magic number of defense then makes choices.
