Worgen Heritage Armor Questline
Courier Claridge awaits for us near the Stormwind Embassy, where she starts us on the Gilneas Heritage Armor quest in
The Shadow of Gilneas
. She asks us to meet with the Gilnean Royal Family in the gardens of Stormwind Keep, asked by Princess Tess Greymane.
Princess Tess Greymane: <player>, I have asked my mother and father to speak with me of our kingdom's future. As a hero of Gilneas, I would have you join us.
Princess Tess Greymane: Meet me in the garden of Stormwind Keep. We have... important matters to discuss.
As we arrive at the inn, Genn is angry at Tess, as the gilnean princess asked her father to bite her and pass on the Worgen curse to her, so she can share what the Worgen go through.
Genn Greymane: Absolutely not! I forbid you to take such an action!
Tess Greymane: If I am to one day lead our people, then I must understand their hardship. This is the only way.
Tess Greymane: Father, you have borne the worgen curse for many years, and have learned to live with its ferocity. To harness it as your own.
Tess Greymane: So many of our people endure the same burden. How can I hope to lead them unless I share their plight?
Tess Greymane: If you will not pass the worgen curse onto me... then I will ask our champion to do it.
Genn Greymane: You know not what you ask. To be forever torn between rage and reason. To fear for your loved ones whenever they are near.
Mia Greymane: Tess, becoming a worgen is a choice that cannot be undone. But there might be another way to gain the understanding you seek.
We are then sent to Duskwood in
to talk to Vassandra Stormclaw. The Night Elf was once a Druid trainer in Darnassus, but has since moved to Raven Hill to attempt to heal the feral worgen in the area. In the Worgen starting area, Vassandra was one of the druids present in the ritual to help the player control their Worgen form. After we talk to Vassandra, she sends us to subdue a feral worgen named Bloodeyes in
Bane of the Nightbane
Vassandra Stormcrow: Goldrinn's Curse is dangerous, Princess Greymane. I have spent much time and effort in search of a way to cure it.
Vassandra Stormcrow: But if words alone will not suffice, then I believe I know another path to wisdom.
You can find a place to attract Bloodeyes flying east of Raven Hill. Remember to not kill her! Use the poison that appears as an extra action button and bring her to Vassandra alive. Make sure you don't fly. After bringing Bloodeyes to Vassandra, she sends us to tasks involving the Emerald Dream - Gather a rare flower in
Cry to the Moon
and gather wolf fangs in
The Spirit of the Hunter
After we gather all items, we meet again with Vassandra, this time in the Twlight Grove. We then summon the wild god Goldrinn in
Waking a Dreamer
, and are sent to the Emerald Dream together with Tess Greymane in
Let Sleeping Wolves Lie
We enter to Gilneas within the Emerald Dream, where Tess is transformed into a Worgen! We will then revive the Battle of Gilneas, this time with Tess' added strength as a Worgen.
Tess Greymane: Just one more minute, father...
Tess Greymane: Enough! I'm awake! I'm... a worgen?
Tess Greymane: This is... Gilneas... The day the wall fell...
Tess Greymane: If only I had this strength back then... I could have saved Liam! Is that what Goldrinn means to show me?
Tess Greymane: Come, champion! Let us tear these Forsaken apart!
During the scenario, we meet with none other than Nathanos Blightcaller! As a Worgen, his trail is rather easy to follow. This Nathanos is clearly a copy created by the Emerald Dream, but its still enough to raise fury in Tess. As the fake Nathanos falls to our hands, Tess loses control, running deep within Gilneas. After her!
Nathanos Blightcaller: What's this? A princess playing the part of assassin? How quaint.
Tess Greymane: Blightcaller! Track his scent, champion! His stench should be easy to follow!
Tess Greymane: How I've longed to bring him to justice... He will know my rage!
Nathanos Blightcaller: Rushing into a trap like a rabid animal. You're hardly worth the effort.
Tess Greymane: After him! Now!
Nathanos Blightcaller: Run away, little girl. Run away.
Tess Greymane: I'll kill you, Nathanos! I'll rip out your throat!
Tess Greymane: Nathanos! Coward! You cannot run from me!
Nathanos Blightcaller: Enough of this game. I will show you how a true hunter kills its prey.
Nathanos Blightcaller: You howl like a wolf, but fight like a common dog.
Vassandra Stormcrow: Hurry! After her! She is losing control!
Tess Greymane: And I can slaughter anyone in my way!
We then approach the fateful scenario where Liam Greymane, Genn's son and Tess' brother, dies sacrificing himself to defend his father from Sylvanas. Even though Tess is much stronger, she is still unable to stop her brother's death, and almost succumbs to the Worgen's signature feral bloodrage. We then defeat her Essence of Rage, subduing the Princess and finally leaving the Emerald Dream.
Genn Greymane: Block their retreat, Liam! We've got them right where we want them!
Tess Greymane: Father! Out of my way!
Genn Greymane: SYLVANAS!!
Sylvanas Windrunner: Enough!
Sylvanas Windrunner: Let's see how brave Gilneas gets on without its stubborn leader!
Liam Greymane: FATHER!!!
Sylvanas Windrunner: Such a waste. That arrow's poison was not meant to be wasted on your whelp. We'll meet again, Greymane.
Genn Greymane: LIAM!! NO!!!
Tess Greymane: More! I need more! The enemies of Gilneas will drown in their own blood!
Tess Greymane: I will slay them all!
Tess Greymane: All this strength, all this fury... it won't bring him back. It won't bring anyone back.
Tess Greymane: But the feral bloodlust turned me into a rabid beast. I nearly lost myself to the rage.
Tess Greymane: I see now. My people are not defined by this curse. They have held on to who they are in spite of it.
Tess Greymane: Enough! Goldrinn! I have gained the wisdom I seek! Remove the rage which clouds my mind!
As we return to Azeroth as we know it, Tess sends us back to Stormwind in
The New Guard
, where she inducts you into the Greyguard, the Gilnean Royal Guard! The Heritage Armor is the armor used by the Greyguard.
Tess Greymane: I have feared that to truly know my countrymen, I would need to bear their curse. But I was mistaken.
Tess Greymane: Our people are not merely worgen. We are Gilnean, as we always have been, and always will be, cursed or not.
Tess Greymane: Champion! On behalf of all Gilneas, the royal family recognizes your exemplary service to kingdom and country.
Tess Greymane: And so, as princess, I hereby induct you to the Greyguard! May you continue to be a paragon of the Gilnean people.
Worgen Heritage Armor - Greyguard Armor
The Worgen Heritage Armor is the armor worn by the Greyguard, the Royal Guards of Gilneas. Like the Blood Elf heritage armor, the armor has both a robe and tunic versions. The armor looks the same between Human and Worgen forms. You can check how the armor looks like in our Dressing Room!

Dialogue between Mia and Genn
If you talk to Genn right before going to Duskwood, you will be able to witness a quick dialogue between Genn and Mia, talking about Tess' aspirations to understand the gilneans in hopes of leading them one day.
Genn Greymane: It is impossible to reason with that girl!
Mia Greymane: Remind you of anyone, dear? She did not inherit her temper from me.
Mia Greymane: But... she's not wrong. Liam was the heir apparent. He was meant to lead Gilneas.
Mia Greymane: Now that he is gone, Tess is searching for answers to questions she never thought she would ask.
Genn Greymane: Not a day goes by without me thanking the Light that the two of you were spared the curse! It is not the answer she seeks.
Mia Greymane: Perhaps not, but that is a lesson she must learn herself. Let her talk to the druid. We'll see how that goes.
Genn Greymane: And if it goes badly?
Mia Greymane: Then we'll have another one of these pleasant family conversations.
