Timewalking Event Quest Gives Heroic Raid Cache in Patch 8.3
On the 8.3 PTR, the Timewalking Event Quest to complete 5 Timewalking dungeons awards a piece of Heroic Ny'alotha loot.
This article used to mention that in Legion, the Timewalking quest gave heroic loot which is false. The Legion quest included a bonus roll alongside the normal loot and the article has been updated. I’m sorry for the confusion.
The Timewalking quest to complete 5 Timewalking dungeons
awards a piece of Heroic Ny'alotha gear in
. This awards loot that is Item Level 460 / 470, depending on what boss the item drops from, as the last two bosses
drop loot that is 10 Item Levels harder
. If you get lucky and get an Item Level 470 piece, it's only 5 items levels below the general Mythic.
Many raiders, Mythic+ players and PvPers didn't feel compelled to complete the Timewalking quest in Battle for Azeroth due to the nerf which removed the bonus roll from the quest, but depending on the timing of Timewalking weeks, you'll probably see these players (begrudgingly) queue up for Timewalking again. With a bump to Heroic level, this allows Mythic+-only or PvP-only players a small chance at any OP pieces of Raid loot, without needing to raid at all.
Since this is the PTR, this of course is still subject to change.
Depending on when the patch launches, Timewalking will line up on different weeks. It's likely the quest will only roll over to the new cache
Season 4 starts
and not when the patch goes live.
