The Mawrat Strat: Keeping Torment Mobs Off Your Back in Torghast's Fracture Chambers
As we climb higher in Torghast we start to become exposed to Torments. Some of these are passive and unavoidable, but the Torments for Skoldus Hall and the Fracture Chambers are adds that spawn every 30 or 40 seconds while you are not in combat. Torghast doesn't have a timer and many are enjoying being able to take their time on a floor. But once you hit
for those wings, all bets are off. Early on, Blizzard stated that Torments should not act as time constraints, but instead as challenges that reward strategy. Unfortunately that is not the way it is playing out for these wings.
Some ingenious players have found a way to work around the issue somewhat. If you aggro a
but don't kill it, it will follow you, doing minimal damage, but keeping you in combat which prevents the
s from spawning.
Perhaps this is the strategy which Blizzard was intending we employ? Of course you can't perform out of combat actions like eating or drinking while a
is gnawing on you, but at least you can plan and take a breath without being jumped.

A crowd control ability can also work to keep your
out of the way for a bit.
, or a similar combat dropping ability can cause the mobs to despawn.
Some environments have areas that you can jump down to and then use a rope to get back up. Mawsworn Seekers can't use ropes.
