Shadowlands Patch 9.0.5 Undocumented Changes - More Mailboxes, More Companion XP
As with most patches and updates, a few little things slide in under the radar and miss being added to
. Patch 9.0.5 is no exception. Here are a few things we've found so far.
Extra Mailboxes in Oribos
first reported this
on the PTR a few weeks ago. They made it to Live! There are now four mailboxes in Oribos, up from two.
X marks the spot: current mailboxes marked with O, new ones with X
More Companion XP
One of the biggest complaints about the Mission Table has been that new Companions start at level 1. Spoiler: they still start at level 1, but now the Adventures that award bonus experience
offer considerably more
which used to award 1,500 experience now grants 2,500, while
grants 2,000 up from 1,200. That's pretty huge!
Change to Male Blood Elf Face
It's a little subtle, but the
male Blood Elf faces have been tweaked
. They are now a little wider in the jaw, shorter in the nose, and fuller in the mouth. Did we need that change?
Turnspeed Command Nerfed
Sorry keyboard turners, the max turnspeed has been changed from 1000 to 700. That's still pretty quick though, considering the default is 180, and 700 is plenty fast enough to make you dizzy. To try it yourself, here is the command:
/console turnspeed 700
New Sinfall Shortcuts
There is a new bat in Sinfall. There has been a
bat that will give you a ride to the surface
on the lower level for a while. Now there is one on the main level too, right across from the Eternal Terrace mirror.
Bat that's not all, there is also a new pony just behind where the new bat drops you off. For the usual fee of this sinrunner will take you straight to Hole in the Wall from where you have a very slightly shorter and easier run to Castle Nathria. You can also dismount a bit early if you want to be even closer!
: There is not one, but three new ponies a Sinfall. All three take you to Hole in the Wall. In addition to the one above, there is one near the Sanctuary of the Mad elevator, and one at the gate from Sinfall to the Bridge of Banishment.
There is also one in The Abandoned Purlieu. Seems like overkill, but can you really have too many sinrunners?
Ghostwolf Animation Change
The Shaman Ghostwolf animation has been changed. Ghostwolves now look like they are running more slowly - although their actual runspeed is the same as before.
: This was unintended and has been fixed.
A New House in Elwynn Forest
The astute have spotted a new house in Elwynn Forest. Volo's Homestead is likely
a D&D reference
New Maw Mount
The much anticipated crafted Maw Mount is now available. No longer do you have to be super lucky or a Torghast pro.
Now you can make your own
Have you noticed anything new but undocumented in the Patch? Let us know in the comments.
Many of you have responded with your discoveries, thank you!
Marks of Honor Purchasable With Honor
Looking to purchase more PvP legacy transmogs, but you do not have enough
? You can now farm these with
! The PvP vendor
in Oribos now sells
for 2000 Honor, which contains 5 Marks of Honor.
Night Fae Winged Branch Model Updates
We had previously reported that
Kyrian Sigil and Halo back attachments received model updates to help with clipping issues
, but this was also applied to the Night Fae Winged Branch back attachments!
now lay out on your back more similarly to butterfly wings.
When you sell to a vendor or receive gold in your mailbox, after you close the window you get a total gold received notation. Unfortunately there isn't a similar notation when you buy from a vendor, but this is an excellent addition nevertheless.
When you hover over a Callings icon on your map, you can now see how much time you have to procrastinate before completing it. You can already check this on your Covenant Sanctum Report, but this is significantly more handy.
Music of Bastion
The buffs from the Bastion Instrument items,
, no longer drops when you go to Oribos and stays up when you reach the Maw. Handy!
There is a new animation when you mount and dismount. It has been described variously as dust, smoke, a bubble, waves... whatever it is, it's there.
The Cost of Raiding
Someone at Blizzard is having a little fun at our expense (so to speak). Rendle, the repairs vendor in Castle Nathria, now has a big pile of gold - presumably from repairs due to all those wipes. Rub it in, why don't ya!
Keep 'em coming!
