Philia Fintallas from Before the Storm Found in Oribos
is a character from Christie Golden's
Before the Storm
, the novel that came out a little before
Battle for Azeroth
, and she's been spotted in Oribos.
Once she's appeared, Philia can be found in the Hall of Holding, speaking with
, another character from the book. While we haven't been able to establish the exact trigger that makes these characters appear yet, we suspect it has to do with unlocking Torghast's Twisting Corridors.
, the quest that sends you into the Twisting Corridors, unlocks these NPCs. Thank you
for letting us know!
Philia is one of the humans that were chosen to take part in the Gathering, an experiment that King Anduin organized to see if living Humans and their former loved ones who are now Undead could help bridge the divide between living and undead by reforming relationships with one another. Philia's loved one was her father
, who died during the sacking of Lordaeron and was raised by Lady Sylvanas Windrunner. Like most Forsaken, Parqual kept little of his former life, but he always held onto Philia's teddy bear, and was particularly excited to be able to give it to her. Philia showed her father unconditional love, wanting to hug him, but had to settle for holding his hand, as his skin was too delicate.
Like all the Forsaken that took part in the Gathering, Parqual was killed on Sylvanas's orders when things went wrong. He was buried, along with his fellow Undead, in Arathi Highlands. The graves
can be visited as they were added in
Battle for Azeroth
, and Parqual's grave still has Philia's teddy bear resting against it.
Philia seems to have journeyed to the
, who appears to be intent on finding her three sons who also died during the Gathering. Philia comforted Emma after that tragic event, promising that they would always look after each other, and it's clear she's kept to that promise. Ol' Emma does not seem to be aware that all souls have been going to The Maw for a while, and this would include the souls of the Forsaken who died that day. If you speak to Philia, she will say,
<Philia whispers to you.>
Please don't tell Emma about the Maw.
I... I don't think her heart could take it.
Hopefully, we will be able to find and rescue Parqual's soul from the Jailer and maybe even organize a reunion that won't end in tragedy!
