A new World of Warcraft book has been spotted on Amazon: Grimoire of the Shadowlands and Beyond.
As discovered by Lugia_Blizz, this lore compendium is up on
Amazon France
and is scheduled to release on July 14, 2021.
The afterlives await in this sprawling compendium, lovingly crafted by the World of Warcraft game team and official Blizzard Entertainment historian Sean Copeland. What lies beyond the veil of death? Journey past this mortal coil and discover the secrets of the afterlives. Study the practices around death and dying on Azeroth, then follow a Broker chronicler through the groves of Ardenweald, over the menacing ziggurats of Maldraxxus, and into the depths of the Maw for a detailed voyage unlike any other. Featuring gorgeous artwork never glimpsed by mortal eyes, a stunning fold-out map, and fresh secrets straight from the game team, Grimoire of the Shadowlands and Beyond is made to be treasured for eternity. In his authorial debut, Blizzard Entertainment historian Sean Copeland opens the vaults of both World of Warcraft and his years of hidden knowledge for all curious souls.
Based on the description, it looks like like this book will be a lore compendium complete with striking artwork and a fold-out map. The line of "fresh secrets straight from the game team" is intriguing as this could refer to lore speculation theories, or hints to solve in-game puzzles in a similar fashion to
Riddler of the Mind-Seekers requiring
Chronicle
. It will be interesting to see how the lore of
Shadowlands
meshes with the lore of
Chronicle
as they cover two different realms and point of views.
The timing of this book entry is also notable as gamescom 2020 starts tomorrow and historically we learn more about upcoming expansions at this event. We already know that
the animated series Afterlives
