New Voice Actor for Kael'thas Sunstrider - Previous Voice Lines Replaced in Patch 9.1

The first build of Patch 9.1, Chains of Domination, is currently available to test in the Public Test Realm. Players have been exploring undocumented changes, but a specific change in 9.1 has caught the attention of players: All voice lines of Kael'thas Sunstrider have been re-recorded by a different voice actor.
In the video below (courtesy of
Simaia
), you can listen to voice comparisons between pre and post 9.1 Kael'thas lines. It is worth noting that it wasn't only Shadowlands content that was re-recorded - Even Kael'thas lines from Burning Crusade (such as in Tempest Keep or Magister's Terrace) were re-recorded for Patch 9.1.
It is currently unknown who is the new voice actor for Kael'thas, or why all his lines in WoW were re-recorded. It is currently speculated that the new recordings are due to the
original Kael'thas voice actor, Quinton Flynn, recently coming under fire due to allegations of sexual harassment and grooming
. Besides Kael'thas, Flynn is famous for other voices such as Jhin from League of Legends, Axel from the Kingdom Hearts series, and Raiden from the Metal Gear series.
Update (4/20/21):
Quinton Flynn has
addressed the speculation
on his Twitter account.
Currently, only WoW's lines were re-recorded, with Heroes of the Storm still voiced by Flynn, but it wouldn't be surprising if Kael'thas is re-recorded as well.
