Netherlight Crucible Calculator and Relic Trait Recommendation Guides
Netherlight Crucible Calculator and Guides
The Netherlight Crucible is a new way to power your Artifact Weapon in Patch 7.3. As this system can be complicated with many choices and a dash of RNG, we've made a series of tools and guides to help you out!
Netherlight Crucible Calculator
now includes a Netherlight Crucible tab. Visit this tab to generate possible combinations of relic power talent trees. You can then simply copy the URL hash and share that exact setup with your friends!
We've set up interactions between our Artifact Weapon and Netherlight Crucible tab so you can keep track of everything in one place. When you select a trait to improve via the Netherlight Crucible, the Artifact Weapon tab reflects this additional rank. In addition, if the Crucible tree includes a trait that already benefits from a relic you've socketed, we'll display that on the UI to help you keep track of which traits you've prioritized.
Using the example below, the Crucible tab shows you've gained an extra rank for
. The Artifact Tab then shows you at 6/6 for that trait after selecting it on the Crucible.
The Netherlight Crucible has also gone through many variations over the course of the 7.3 PTR, and Wowhead's calculator is now updated for the latest Patch 7.3 behavior.
In the first tier for every relic, the trait is
, which increases the item level of your artifact by 5 per relic. The moment you unlock the Crucible you're able to pick this trait, regardless of the state of your Artifact Weapon.
After your first tier, you have two options, one random Void trait to the left, or one random Light trait to the right. As you can see in the UI, your tier 2 choices impact which tier 3 traits you can pick, so keep that in mind when choosing.
You cannot change the path of a relic
after selecting it. The only way is to replace it with a different relic, which creates a new random tree of traits.
For the final tier, there are three options of traits present on relics normally. Those options are random, but can't be the same trait given by the relic. Also they aren't limited to traits that give throughput, they can be utility traits, as long as they can appear in relics.
All of these abilities are one rank, not three as in the early 7.3 PTR.
We look forward to Blizzard hopefully adding Artifact Crucible character lookup support, so you can import your specific character setup into Wowhead's calculator as well.
Crucible Recommendations for All Specs
Our class guide writers have been hard at work updating their guides for Patch 7.3. With the Netherlight Crucible additions, we've revamped our Artifact Guide pages to better highlight what's important in Patch 7.3. At the top of every Artifact Guide page, you'll see recommended Crucible traits and explanations for different combat situations. These guides are being regularly updated throughout the week to account for hotfixes and other research developments.
You can still find the recommended artifact trait paths on the guide page, but we've moved them below since it's very easy, due to the Artifact Knowledge changes, to hit
quickly and acquire many traits via one Artifact Power token.
