Earlier in the 7.3 PTR,
the Artifact Knowledge cap was extended beyond 40, every player started at 40, and players automatically gained a level every week. The latest PTR build extended the Artifact Knowledge cap to 55 and greatly increased the multipliers from 41-55.

Here are the major changes we noticed since our
The Tier 2 abilities no longer have three ranks - just one passive.
The far-right square on the UI now works. It lets you preview the combination of abilities you will get if you socket a particular relic.
The purple lines on the UI now connect to the shadow-themed abilities, and the light lines on the UI now connect to the light-themed abilities.
The basics of the system remain the same:
The amount of artifact traits purchased determines the amount of relic abilities you can unlock.
The first tier of relic abilities increase your weapon's item level, the second tier are light/shadow themed abilities, and the third tier are extra ranks for minor traits.
The combination of abilities is random and determined at the time of socketing (or previewing) a relic.
