Chronicle and Titans
Over on r/wow, a user asked what happened to a remaining Titan introduced in
World of Warcraft Chronicle
. Game Designer Dave Kosak posted a reply (click the spoiler button to read it). He later clarified on Twitter that this should not be treated as canon:
So azeroth is a sleeping titan does that mean we're all screwed when it wakes up? Also if the void lords are trying to corrupt a titan why are the old gods trying to destroy azeroth? Shouldn't they be trying to corrupt it instead?
It's too late. Azeroth will never wake up. He was the Titan's last hope.
...But a bit of his spirit dwells within every hero of Azeroth, every mage who picked up a wand, every warrior who took up a blade, every champion from any world who took root in Azeroth and decided to defend it as their home.
We mortals are all that stands between the Light and oblivion, but so long as this world is our home we're lit from within by the heroic spirit of a dormant Titan.
Wow, this blew up! I was just adding some color to the chronicle, not adding any lore with that comment. It's a reddit post, not canon. :) The Chronicle is meant to be interpreted and enjoyed as you will!
If you want to learn more about the lore in Chronicles and which quests and items reflect it in game, we have a series of guides:

An ancient blade crafted by the Nathrezim which spreads plague, death and violence in its wake, Apocalypse is a powerful tool of destruction.
The blade was wielded by the Tirisgarde before it fell in the hands of the Dark Riders.
Now the only way to find it is to hunt down the riders to their secret lair.
Apocalypse enhances it's owner with powerful shadow magic and fearsome minions.

The Lich King's chill voice fills your mind. He tells you about an ancient blade, lost in the echoes of time, that has the power we will need to bring our vengeance upon the Legion.
The Lich King says: The sanctum of the Dark Riders is hidden even to my sight, though many in Duskwood have given their lives to unearth it.
I sense one such presence in Manor Mistmantle... a man strong in the Light. If he could be bent to your will, he may prove to be the key you require.
You venture to Karazhan and then find your way into Duskwood. Finally locating a small shack that would be easily missed. Inside you see a man and he begins to question you and the reason as to why you are there. After speaking with him and "convincing" him that you are there to hunt the Dark Riders and located this blade so that you can combat the Legion he agrees to work with you.
Revil Kost says: Your words are acid, but there is truth in them. Though I detest the methods you employ, it seems we may have no choice.
Very well. I will tell you what I know.
Revil tells you of a camp not to far from the manor. Ariden's camp. He explains more about the Dark Riders along the way as you battle them towards the camp.
Revil Kost says: The Dark Riders were not always like this. They were once a group of traveling merchants.
Unfortunately they crossed the sorcerer Medich, who cursed them to an eternity of hunting artifacts for him.
Ariden was the first of the Dark Riders, and I believe he leads them now.
His camp is still in Deadwind Pass, strangely untouched after all these years.
If my convictions are correct, the key to finding the Dark Riders, as well as the artifacts they still covet, can be found there.
Once at the camp, there very few things to look at, however you begin to look for anything that can help you locate the fabled blade. After riffling through some normal things, something grasps your attention, a strange looking box. Once you touch it you are knocked back and dark spirits begins to attack you as you hear a voice shouting from a distance.
Ariden yells: Fool! You will suffer for your trespass!
Turn away now, interloper! The horrors of the past will be your undoing!
Revil Kost says: I think that means we're on the right track. See what you can find in that journal.
Understand, I cannot be a part of what you must do. When you are finished, meet me outside Karazhan.
I will visit the church and pray to the Light for mercy upon both our souls.
You learn you need to disturb the graves of some poor souls outside of Karazhan. One in particular named Laith Sha'ol. For he will tell you the location of the Dark Riders.
Laith says: No! The blade must remain buried!
You cannot have it!
No, Ariden...why did you unearth that cursed blade?
It must be retrieved. He cannot control the unbridled wrath within.
Go to the catacombs. The curse must be lifted!
You meet back with Revil Kost and tell him what you learn. He leads you into the catacombs where you are not the most welcomed of guests. You battle your way though cursed skeletals, banshees, and dark riders alike. You eventually see Ariden but between you and him is a barrier of spirits, ready to rip apart anything that steps in their path. You use the abilities known to you to make your way past to confront Ariden, however he quickly retreats. You continue your way through the catacombs and there you see it. Apocalypse. in the back of a room. As you approach it you are knocked back and stunned by a force.
Ariden yells:So this is what you're after? The artifacts of Karazhan belong here, and I will not allow them to be taken away!
Revil Kost says: You have no right to these artifacts, fiend! They must be reclaimed in the name of the Light!
Ariden yells: Your Light does not reach here, priest! If you want the blade, death knight, come and claim it!
Revil Kost says: Quickly, after him! I will only slow you down...
Continuing to fight through the very back of the catacombs, you finally corner Ariden.
Ariden says: You are a persistent one.
Very well! If you so thirst for the power of Apocalypse, then I will show it to you myself!
Ariden yells: It calls to souls long dead... RISE!
You are not the only one who can control the undead, death knight!
Sss... souls of the dead! Aid your master!
No! The power... is mine!
Laith Sha'ol says: The power was not yours, Ariden. You did not wield Apocalypse. Its dark energies wielded you as its weapon.
Ariden says: That voice... father?!
Laith Sha'ol says: Rest now, my son. The curse is lifted. You are free.
Revil Kost says: It is done, the Dark Riders are defeated.
Now I can reclaim these stolen artifacts and return them to their rightful owners.
You have proven an unexpected ally, death knight. The weapon is yours. Let us hope it can turn the tide in this war.
The Dark Riders lost this battle, but I fear they will soon regroup. We had best be gone before they do.
Your head once again is filled with the voice of The Lich King.
The Lich King says: I can sense the power of the world-ender within you. You are prepared for the war to come.
