Invisibility Potions Bugged in Patch 9.0.5 - Common Abilities and Talents Break Invisibility Potion
Since Patch 9.0.5 has launched, Players have noticed that Invisibility Potions have been breaking early through no fault of their own. We did some tests and have found some of the common abilities that are breaking the Potion of Hidden Spirit Invisibility Potions this patch.
Invisibility Potions in Shadowlands
The Invisibility Potion in Shadowlands is
and is the only remaining Invisibility Potion to characters at level 60. There is also the Engineering
which gives you a 15 second Invisibility.
The bug introduced in Patch 9.0.5 only affects the
, and does not seem to affect the Engineering
As Invisibility Potions are commonly used in Mythic+ to skip trash and get favorable Prideful spawns, this is frustrating to players who have been randomly pulled out of Invisibility this week. Next week, more players will likely experience this bug when more players in general will likely be playing Mythic+ due to it being a
Be careful as until this bug is fixed, you'll have to find alternate means to skip sections of trash including death skipping and altering your routes or just using the Engineering
Common Abilities that Break Invisibility Potions in Patch 9.0.5
We ran some tests using
and found that common abilities and talents will break players out of Invisibility. The things that break the Invisibility tend to be abilities which can stack or apply a buff.
Here are some common things that will break invisibility potions:
Passive (Necrolord) - Walking over the corpse of an enemy will break you out of Invisibility.
stacks (Frost DK) - This talent prevents Invisibility for longer than a second.
stacks (Shaman) - This talent breaks Invisbility on application of a stack.
swapping from 90% to 30% (Hunter) - This ability will break Invisibility when the 90% movement speed runs out and swaps to the 30% movement speed buff but it will not break when the 30% movement speed buff falls off.
This is not an exhaustive list, just ones that we've found so far, but if you have evidence of more, please leave a comment below.
Note that not all buff applications seem to break Invisibility, as we tested Kleia's
and it will not break a Potion.
