Dragonriding Multiplayer Races: Race With Up to 4 Players in Dragonflight
The Dragonflight Alpha build has brought multiplayer races for Dragonriding, where you can participate in a up to 4-player race. We've participated in a race and brought you all the currently known details!
In the Waking Shores, the multiplayer race is located by Skytop Observatory, the Dragonriding training location for the zone. The Bronze Timekeeper there will give you the option to sign in to the Skytop Scramble, the multiplayer race for the area.
Once you sign up to a race, you will receive the buff
indicating you're in the queue for a race. You will maintain the buff as you stay in the outdoors area of the Dragon Isles, losing it once you enter a dungeon or leave the Dragon Isles in any way.
The timers are being tested right now, but after a certain amount of time with 2-3 players, or once 4 players are paired up, you will be teleported back to the racing grounds, where you have 30 seconds to prepare for the race. Once the timer is up, you will receive the standard countdown and race!
The Skytop Scramble has you go through highs and lows around the Skytop Observatory area, and good Vigor management means you'll go very fast at some portions of the race. Unlike the standard Dragonriding races, you'll run two laps of this circuit. Standard Dragonriding race rules apply: You need to go through all the rings guiding you around the race, being careful to not run out of time via the
debuff. Failing to maintain the Countdown debuff automatically disqualifies you from the race.
You can see your current race position on top of the screen, but the UI for races is otherwise very much in development. We have filmed a race below:
There are currently no rewards for either participating or winning a race as of the latest Dragonflight Alpha build, but we should expect to see some in the future!
