Dalaran Spotlight: Wrath and Legion Player Hub
Over the weekend, Senior Designer Jeremy Feasel asked players what sorts of quirky details they'd like to see in Dalaran 2.0 coming in
There were some great replies, and this also sent us down a nostalgia trip to
in Wrath of the Lich King. Here's some of the details in Dalaran 1.0 that made it stand out as a capital city in Wrath of the Lich King. What sort of fun stuff or throwback Wrath references would you like to see in Legion's version of Dalaran?
Dalaran is a magocratic city-state and was once located within the Alterac Mountains in the Eastern Kingdoms. Now, the city, including the Violet Citadel, resides above the Crystalsong Forest in Northrend. The top part of the city is sparkling and airy, while the sewers underground show the darker side of magic addiction and luxury. The city is neutral, with enclaves for both the Alliance and Horde.
Dalaran's food vendors are unique in that they sell food platters and bottles of alcohol that come with visuals and 3D models. Your food looks as delicious as it tastes.

Monuments/Places of Interest
While Dalaran is a capital city with expected utilities like portals, banks, gear vendors, and Auction Houses, it was laid out in such a way to make the player feel that they were visiting a series of small luxury boutiques interspersed with monuments and decorations. Even if you didn't need to visit a particular shop, it was fun to wander in and explore because of the flavor items the NPCs would sell or the funny decorations on the walls.
The Justice Point gear in Dalaran was split up among many vendors, themed around boutique shops with different themes. For example, the fashion shop sold cloth epics, fancy shirts, hats, and epic boots. Useful gear was mixed in with flavor items to add to the personality of the city.
Dalaran has numerous fun shops--a Toyshop, Wine and Cheese Shop, and occult, in addition to the elaborate profession and armor shops.
The Sisters Sorcerous is a magical shop for Mages with a darker side.

Up at the top of Dalaran is the Purple Parlor, a bar with a great view of the city.
The Alliance Inn comes with a relaxing brewgarden in the back.
At the center of Dalaran is a monument celebrating the fall of the Lich King. This appeared when the first raid on the server defeated Arthas in Icecrown Citadel, and players can click on the inscription to relive the final cinematic.
When players defeat Algalon, one player can turn in the

Most of Dalaran is sparkling and airy, but the Sewers offer a contrast--it's where the Rogues and Warlocks hang out. Dalaran's Underbelly may even be near the Rogue Class Hall in Legion.
There are several entries down to the sewers from the main city, as well as a one-way wishing well players can jump down and a gigatic sewer pipe they can fly up in.
The center of the sewers is set up for PvP, with vendors selling Wrath gear. In Legion, this area may inspire a free-for-all PvP event.
