Blizzard Nerfs Experience from Warlords Bonus Objectives in Shadowlands Leveling
Throughout the Shadowlands testing cycle, Warlords bonus objectives have provided strong sources of experience, making it the best expansion to level through with Chromie Time. Blizzard has now nerfed the experience provided by WoD bonus objectives as well as Gorgrond quests.
Streamer, speed leveler, and mental health advocate
has highlighted Rumple7Beanskin's discovery on Twitter that Blizzard nerfed the bonus objective experience by a significant amount. Previously each bonus objective gave roughly 30,000 experience; after the nerf, they grant 10,900 experience as shown in the screenshot. He calculated the nerf means that Warlords will now take an extra ~2 hours to level in, which also necessitates a revamp of the Azeroth Auto-Pilot routes previously suggested. In spite of these nerfs, WoD may still be one of the fastest Chromie Time options to level through.
In addition to the Bonus Experience nerf, the Gorgroud questing experience is also nerfed. One possible motivation for the change was that certain mobs in Gorgrond drop quest items for the achievement
, which previously awarded around two levels worth of experience for all ten items.
It remains to be seen if Blizzard will nerf
dungeon speed leveling
in Shadowlands before the pre-patch goes live as well.
We have several guides on the leveling changes coming in the Shadowlands pre-patch if you'd like to learn more about the system:
