8.3 PTR Broadcast Text - Horrific Vision of Stormwind, New Trade Prince
In addition to the
between Anduin and Jaina about Bolvar Fordragon, there's some other noteworthy snippets of broadcast text in today's 8.3 PTR build, including appointing the new trade prince and more details on the horrific vision of Stormwind featuring Alleria Windrunner.
Thrall appoints Gazlowe the new Trade Prince, as Gallywix has disappeared. As we
learned several days ago
, the Horde has opted for a council-style of government with representatives from each race:
Thrall: Gallywix has fled the city along with the rest of Sylvanas' inner circle. That leaves the Bilgewater Cartel without its trade prince.
Thrall: Gazlowe, it was your cleverness and ingenuity that built the walls of Orgrimmar. I cannot think of anyone I would trust more to take over as leader.
Gazlowe: A cartel ain't a clan or a tribe, Thrall. Steamwheedle, Bilgewater... it don't matter who supplies the cash--so long as the pay's good.
Gazlowe: "Under new management" is just another way of sayin' ""opportunity's knockin'"". So, sure... you got yourself a deal!"
Thrall: Can you be sure that none of the goblins here are still being funded by Gallywix?
Gazlowe: Oh, I guarantee they are. That's why I'm gonna pay 'em more than that cheapskate!
Horrific Vision of Stormwind
More datamined broadcast text was added for the Horrific Vision of Stormwind, an alternate reality where N'Zoth corrupted the city with Alleria serving the Old God. Wrathion will help guide us through the horrific vision, powering up our legendary cloaks so we resist more of N'Zoth's effects. This broadcast text references visions from the short story
"A Thousand Years of War,"
namely Alleria's relationship with her son, Arator:
More visions. Possible futures. She saw Xe'ra, the Mother of Light, declaring her a heretic and calling for her death. She saw her blood on Turalyon's sword. She saw Arator calling an army of paladins to hunt her down, only to fall with her arrows in his throat. She saw herself kneeling before the One Who Slumbers beneath Azeroth's waves. She saw herself killing it and taking its place, leading a throng of horrors to consume every nation.
Stormwind City. A bastion of the Holy Light, now fallen to the Void. A staging ground for N'Zoth's armies.
Obeying the whispers in her mind, Alleria Windrunner forces all to submit to the Old God... or be purged.
No, $p. Not the keep. That is one vision I would rather not see.
Our sorties into N'Zoth's mind place you in immense peril. We must push farther into the visions, but not if we lose you to madness in the process.
A valiant effort. With continued forays into the visions, your resistance to N'Zoth's influence grows ever stronger.
It seems that you are able to withstand the vision for longer than before. Each excursion prepares you for the horrors of Ny'alotha.
A blow well struck, but this was only the beginning of N'Zoth's vision. Additional horrors lurk throughout the city. Find them, and vanquish them.
N'Zoth clearly exults in the notion of a corrupted Stormwind. The farther you venture into the city, the more I desire to end him once and for all.
A grim fate for Stormwind indeed. Take solace in the knowledge that should it ever come to pass, you shall be ready to end it.
Shaw has also been corrupted as well:
What do you mean Valeera escaped? Find her! I want her dead before day's end!
None can hide from N'Zoth! All who resist must die!
N'Zoth grants me sight!
I see everything!
We... are all... murderers...
Turalyon rallies the Army of the Light to face Alleria inside the Cathedral and free Arator:
Brothers and Sisters of the Light, this is our final hour.
I know your bodies are weak, your minds are tired.
But I promise you, soon you will rest.
Fight by my side, stand with me, let us scream with our dying breath that we will never surrender, that we will never stop.
My dear wife Alleria may be lost, but my son is still in there. I know he lives, I can feel it. Let us do this one last thing together. Let us find him, and free him.
For the Light!"
In this alternate universe, Alleria, Turalyon, and Arator meet their tragic fates:
Alleria: Oh Bravo, well done my husband.
Turalyon: Alleria... please... this is madness...
Alleria: You have always stood between me and the Void.
Turalyon: Please... Save my son...
Alleria: How could I ever have loved someone so weak? Let us hope Arator did not inherit your cowardice.
Arator: Mother... do not listen to the whispers!
Alleria: I have ignored them for too long. They speak the truth, Arator. And you will hear them. I will make you hear them.
Arator: No! I will never--aah!
Also part of the encounter are High Commander Halford Wyrmbane, who appears to tragically sacrifice himself, and Valeera Sanguinar, who tries to help us before abandoning Stormwind:
The Slavemaster... controls the cages. End him. Save... the others..
It's... too late... for me...
I... will never... forsake the Light...
Champion... Shaw has turned SI:7 into a roaming death squad. They're hunting down anyone who opposes N'Zoth.
Shaw's lieutenants hold the keys to SI:7 headquarters. We kill them, take the keys... and then we kill Shaw.
Got the key. This... thing is what drove Shaw mad.
It's done... but Stormwind is still lost.
I'm leaving the city. I suggest you do the same. Watch your back.
