8.2 PTR Build 30401: Lightbound Undead Allied Race, Void-Touched Customizations, Pepe Goggles

The 8.2 PTR is here, and we're kicking off datamining discoveries with Lightbound Undead as a new Allied Race, Void-Touched Customization unlocked through winning the Barrens Warfront, and goggles that turn everyone around you into Pepe! Oh and...APRIL FOOLS! The assets created here took almost an entire month's worth of work and we're loving the feedback from you, especially the ones wishing they were all real! We hope they made you chuckle or smile today :D
Lightbound Undead Allied Race
While no new Allied Races are planned for 8.2, we've seen data appear for Allied Races
months
before they're implemented in-game, so perhaps this Lightbound Undead Allied Race is scheduled for 8.3. With Calia Menethil returning as a light-touched Undead in
Before the Storm
, and Derek Proudmoore
reuniting with Jaina
in 8.1.5, complete with a new model, many players speculated a new type of Undead race was on the way. Perhaps this race, raised with the Light, would stand with Calia and the Alliance instead of Sylvanas.

Allied Races: Lightbound Undead
, this race is looking pretty likely.
The data shows the Lightbound Undead classes currently are: Hunter, Mage, Paladin, Priest, Rogue, and Warrior.

Void-Touched Customizations - Barrens Warfront
As with everything, Light and Void exists in balance. This patch doesn't just have Light customizations, but Void options as well.
We've seen the
Night Warrior tint
for Night Elves in Patch 8.1, and now more skin tints for older races are coming in a future patch, once again tied to Warfronts. Today we've datamined Void-Touched appearances for both Humans and Orcs, unlocked by winning the upcoming Barrens Warfront 10 times in the
Barrens Chat
achievement.

, you were once able to to run an in-game script command, returning lines about the Barrens Warfront:
Barrens Warfront: Attack the Southern Barrens and break through the Great Gates of Mulgore.
Silvermoon Warfront: Assault the final Horde bastion on the Eastern Kingdoms, and cleanse our land of their filth.
Azshara Warfront: Launch a massive Naval assault on the home of Gallywix. Bilgewater will burn.
Battle for Stromgarde: Donate supplies to the war effort as the impending battle over Arathi Highlands nears.

has been a point of interest since Cataclysm. After the fragmentation of The Barrens, caused by Deathwing's advance, the main Horde settlement in the southern end of the Barrens (Camp Taurajo) was destroyed by the Alliance as an effort to expand the Alliance settlement of Northwatch Hold. Although you learn during the Alliance quests in the Southern Barrens that an effort was made to spare as many civilians as possible, the settlement's destruction was considered to be a military attack by Baine Bloodhoof. After the attack, the Tauren built the Great Gate on the border of Mulgore to protect the zone from further Alliance attacks.
A Barrens Warfront would continue the faction war on Azeroth, previously seen through
Mission Table descriptions
in early BFA, which ultimately weakens both the Alliance and Horde. Such a full-out war would play into the plans of the Old Gods, which would explain why Void-themed customizations are unlocked through a Warfront.
