Patch 5.4: Updated Guide to Vale of Eternal Blossoms and Golden Lotus Changes
We've been covering the changes in Vale of Eternal Blossoms since the early 5.4 PTR, and now that things are live, we've updated our guide to the

Removed in 5.4
is removed, as well as the related quests and rewards. This is now a Feat of Strength.
The multi-tiered daily system is simplified. The only daily hub remaining is by Setting Sun Garrison.
The quests to kill elites are removed, and instead, the elites are rare spawns.

Patch 5.4 Hotfixes for September 17th
Tonight's hotfixes cover a lot of boss and loot specialization changes--makes sense with
new Siege of Orgrimmar wings open on LFR and Flex today
Mages and Warlocks now have a chance to obtain
(Siegecrafter Blackfuse) through bonus rolls on Normal difficulty.
Trash mobs in
on normal difficulty don't drop Flex mode items instead of ilvl 553 items.
should no longer create
for Elemental Shamans, Shadow Priests, and Balance Druids.
Another great quality of life change is that Celestial bosses stay up until defeated--if you wipe, the next one won't spawn in its place.

Siege of Orgrimmar: Loot and Encounters for New LFR and Flex Wings Open 9/17
The first wing of
LFR and second wing of
Flex opens today, September 17th, in the US.
For LFR, you will need ilvl 496 to queue up and the bosses drop ilvl 528 loot. If your'e stuck on how to get there, check out our
For Flex, you do not need an item level to queue up, but you must queue up with a premade group of friends. The Flex bosses drop ilvl 540 loot.
Both LFR and Flex loot is personal, meaning you have a chance to receive an item that corresponds to your
. To see what items are open to your loot spec, check out our boss pages and click on your class icon, or browse our loot spec info on item pages or filters.
Bonus rolls also work on LFR and Flex bosses. You'll need
from bonus rolls, which is acquired from
Chest tier is now available from

Patch 5.4 Hotfixes for September 16th: Garrosh Tokens and Vale Cooking Recipes
Tonight's round of Patch 5.4 hotfixes has some good news for raiders and chefs. New cooking recipes from
will now be able to be looted by chefs above skill level 525:
. These recipes give +300 to a stat and are made with reagents looted from mobs in the Vale.
As we covered in our

, Garrosh drops special tokens like
that can be turned into armor tier for any slot. Guilds who killed him early in the week on 25-player mode only got one special token, and it was later hotfixed to give guilds 3 tokens. Guilds who killed Garrosh before the hotfix will be given two tokens to distribute to players by a GM.

Patch 5.4 Hotfixes for September 13th: Flex Raids and SoO Bosses
In tonight's round of hotfixes, there are many
boss tweaks, as well as a big quality-of-life change for Flex raiding. The raid leader's Flex progress now determines the lockout, as opposed to the least-progressed member. When killing a boss multiple times in Flex Mode per week, you won't get personal loot from the boss each time, but you will earn
and can use bonus rolls.
Explorers on the
will be happy to know that the

, down from 10000.
